Agreed - and these stories are embedded in all 135 of the rescues. You can actually hear about her first transfarmation in an interview I did with Sarah 5 years ago. It's on my channel, in the "My Friends Do The Coolest Sh!t" playlist if you're interested!
This fills me with hope. Not just the number of farm transformations and the hope of more to come, but the fact that there is talk of the government assisting with farm transformations is an absolute game changer. I can see that spreading to other countries, being largely driven by the prospect of reducing carbon emissions. Thank you for sharing this excellent interview and story.
Was that sarcastic laughter when she said this is farm 135? I expected the number to be maybe 15. Such a wonderful farming concept. Reminded me of the movie 73 Cows.
It's kind of hard to hear because I wasn't mic'ed - but after she said 135, I sarcastically said "is that it?" and we had a good laugh. But I would venture she's surpassed 135 at this point.
Wow, thank you so much for posting this! Music to my ears... Just what I needed to post in my local groups when I get flamed for piping up the vegan message on threads that supposedly are concerned with Climate Change, Radical Choices, Visionary Actions... The blinkers are well-attached and the landowners very, very stuck-in-the-mud! It's already a right challenge to protect wildlife where I live, especially if ginger or black&white, so wishing to protect 'livestock' does not go down well at all. Ah well, they won't silence me. x :) x
I've wanted to do this for a long time. Never had the wherewithal, unfortunately, and there isn't a groundswell potential for this where I am: The largest vegan org here is focused on ending factory farms--ending state support for new ones and gradually diminishing funding for existing ones--not ending animal agriculture. This will end up perpetuating small family farms that maybe can be tackled with Ms. Helligtag's methods down the line, before they inevitably scale up to . . . factory farms. I found this interview inspiring; thanks for posting!
One of the things I love about Hof Narr is that it was just the idea of two people to start this sanctuary which blossomed into what we see today in the video - no huge organization pulling the strings. And I think that's, in part, why it's as successful as it is.
Such a great video! ♥ A good friend has a very small sanctuary in the middle of ag country and she's always talked about hearing animals on other farms and how it gets to her. She knows one of those farmers well. Definitely sending this her way to get some ideas flowing...
@@thecrankyvegan Ah yes I caught up with a few, but thankfully still have a some in the backlog for when I need some nice new calming nature videos.🌳🧘♂️🍀
Here on the French-Belgian border, I know some (French-speaking) farmers who would be receptive to this approach, but I'd need documents, if only to show them that it's really possible. Explanations, photos, general action plans... Do you know if this type of documentation already exists?
Stabbing vs poison ( baited poison pellets designed specifically to kill wild animals like birds, rats, mice, rabbits, raccoons and even other wild animals that eat the poisoned animals) ….. what is your favorite cruelty free food? Don’t forget that birds , frogs and snakes or lizards that eat pesticides from insects are also known to die from poisoning…. Trolley car analogy
It's over. She wins. World's best vegan 🥇
ha - agreed!
@jonahwhale9047 // The sanctuary is all green screen. She actually lives in Bali.
Keep 'em coming please! 😂😂
lol yes! 🤣
I love transfarmication because it is a win for everyone involved. Not hatred towards animal activists, no farmer without a job. Everyone wins.
My confidence in the movement when I see projects like this: "So you're saying there's a chance?"
I am so emotional after watching this. She is changing the world. What an incredible human being.

Oh I adore her and what she’s doing 💚
Goosebumps with that story of the mom cow running towards the slaughterhouse to find her calf 🥲 Thank you for this!
Right? So upsetting.
This is so inspiring, she is a hero!

THE best! Thank you Jake for this interview and Thursday episode. Soon after 5:20 you had me packing my bags to go help her with this.
The pigs at the end are such beauties!😍
Totally! Love 'em...
I agree! Elderly pigs are totally gorgeous! 😍
Total heroine!❤

It's one of my favorites i've made.

I believe it does. I would check out their website on Transfarmation. And I would imagine Sarah has those resources as well.
Fabulous ❤❤❤❤
👍 Whole food plant based for the environment and health; vegan for the victims!
Wow!!! I'm totally amazed by this brilliant woman!!
Her method of change is mind-blowing! I want to learn, I'd love to apply this here, in Mexico
very beautiful. this woman is so inspiring, strong and kind.
Just GREAT! Thank you so much!

I don't believe you.
@@RTS284 you don’t believe in Bell labs industrial
How much of your money is spent on veganic farming food vs standard poison ☠️ all wild animals farmed food?
🤡
This is the biggest waste of resources. We already have too much vegetable and fruit waste on earth. She aslo sounds super unhealthy
