Totally apples to oranges. NPK car chassis’s are not designed for sticky, radial prep surfaces. As Howe said the cars have too much bite (higher engine crank centerlines and more rear weight bias) resulting in them having to pull a a LOT of power down low to keep them hooked up. NPK cars are also a little heavier than Promods (like Jeff’s Mad Max Promod) and also are not allowed to use the highly aerodynamic bodies that Promods run.
@@danmyers9372 it's not to keep them hooked up. You don't want a slick tire car to hook. They want tire spin from start to finish, and a pass is all about controlled tire spin..

They really did modify a GTR so I guess it depends on what, likely oddly specific, modification is too far to you. A proper cage required for the speeds they're going is nearly a chassis its self, they're well beond powering the front wheels and what power the IRS and DCT can dream of holding and so on. Honestly, holes can be poked in any allowed modifications that aren't just massaging stock parts and changing the tune. Even then someone will probably chirp about it being too modified.

Random question but does anyone know how a race team is managed? Like how much do they get paid? Is this side work for them or are they working full time?
Pretty sure that most of them have guys behind them who have serious and successful businesses and this is how they choose to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for fun.

@@weseethetruth158 hahaha dude I drag race both 1/8 and 1/4…..it was a joke 😂 I’m fully aware
@@weseethetruth158 Technically yes.
It's awesome qatching 1320. Cover all types. Of drag racing keep up the great work love you guys all the way from Alabama much love and Respect
Random question but does anyone know how a race team is managed? Like how much do they get paid? Is this side work for them or are they working full time?
Pretty sure that most of them have guys behind them who have serious and successful businesses and this is how they choose to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for fun.
@@JerGol I was going to say the same. Starts out like a hobby, everyone having fun, doing their part and depending on how good you are, can turn into a business but as the driver or whoever starts making cash, he spreads the wealth. I am sure the more serious the cash, the more paper and signatures get thrown around
There's college courses on it I'm being serious to covers everything
TV money
John Odom is a multimillionaire builder.
that man jim went through it to compete, such a heartbreaker at the end. but that was super cool seeing all of the street outlaws repping at WCF
ya that sucked
I just realized that the fastest GT-R in the world is powered by a HEMI 😂 GT-R’s may own the streets, but HEMI’s rule the track!

That’s bad ass. 1/4 mile is the $hit!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Almost Mr. Odom, I am going to say that I thought you were going to get there but as always it gets nailed by a leaky fitting. But I have to give credit where it is due. You have given it a heck of a try for all the stuff and problems popping out here and there. Congratulations for giving it the try of a defending champion who's gonna give it everything even if he had to use borrowed parts. Thanks for the show and we enjoyed it. Great evening and enjoy your weekend.
I guarantee nobody has ever said that the gtr can’t run 5s . It’s just not impressive when you put a blown hemi . Ets gtr is the real record holder
GT-R POWWAAAAAA 💯. Yes we know it's a different engine and chassis setup but to keep the import alive. I CONSIDER YOU APART OF THE JDM FAMILY. GREETINGS FROM JAPAN

Lutz needs some of them TBM brakes. Then he can pound on them and stop without worrying about hitting that sand pit.
But he didn't....
@@samotrx7 No, but he locked up and bounced all over the place which, in a lot of cases, breaks things. Pun intended.

@@Redman147 but he didn’t lol
Tbm’s suck we’ve had nothing but problems out of ours and don’t stop anywhere near as good as most other brands
To say that these guys are enthusiasts would be an understatement.
Happy new year guys. Also, fastest GTR in the world, NOPE. Is another Promod with that combo. For me i rather see another RWD GTR with the stock engine or a VR38 or a VK45 o VK56 engine do those passes. You had so many engines from Nissan and you choose a Pro Line Engine. Sorry John
That's not a ProLine. You had an argument untill you said you're ok diverging from the VR platform but only if it stays Nissan.
Wish Lutz would take some of these street outlaw guys to drag week. Miss watching Lutz and Larson going at it for fives days battling the road and each other.
Not a gtr....
