  • As the electric truck segment continues to heat up, it looks like Ram is finally ready to make a huge splash after being late to the party. This is the #Ram1500RevolutionBEVConcept, its an all-electric super truck that is designed to take on the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, and Rivian R1T. The #Ram1500Revolution will eventually go on sale sometime in 2024 and #Ram is promising the #Revolution will come standard with dual motor AWD, a larger battery pack offering up to 350 kW DC fast charging, and the first-ever 3rd row jump seat behind the back seats.

    Ram is not the first concept with full length passthrough. The Bollinger B1 SUV and B2 pickup both had the passthrough...and Bollinger has the patent on it. They applied for the patent in 2017 before they unveiled the B1 and B2. Bollinger patented both the "Passthrough" (the front passthrough) and the "Frunkgate" which had the grill area fold forward like a tailgate does in the back. I'm curious to hear if Ram bought the patent or licensed it from Bollinger who have since canceled the B1 SUV and B2 pickup and are now focusing on commercial vehicles. Or perhaps Ram skirted around the patent since this passthrough is much smaller than in the Bollinger.

This is because they've built cars for so long and have a larger production capacity. My brother is at Stellantis as an engineer for the new electric Jeeps, and they are serious about getting all the electric offerings to the public by mid-decade. It's impressive how quickly they've been able to switch to EVs.

    I feel Ram has missed the boat on the lifestyle truck look and offering as Riviant and Hummer EV now have it. • @MongrelsGarage
    @MongrelsGarage Год назад +2

    Good review and interesting concept...unfortunately in my opinion vehicles are going the way of cell phones. Manufactures are more concerned with adding more bling and while interesting, it is ultimately useless to what the core function of what that product was originally intendent for, which drives up the cost, reduces the primary function and in many cases adds more problems then solutions. In the case of phones they were primarily for long distance vocal communication, and while they are capable of that function still, it is now more of a secondary thought. Now they focus on more storage capacity, better cameras, more apps, etc...all these extras means more power used for something other than vocal communication. In the case of the truck, it was originally made as a work/utility vehicle. Instead of focusing on towing and hauling capacity, they put fancy wheels on or useless roofs that will cost a fortune to repair, the pass-thru system is interesting, but I can't begin to imagine the amount of problems people are going to have if this is used as an actual "work" vehicle. I'm sure the seat slots will work fine after a bunch of muddy boots have been in there for example. I guess time will tell, I will admit given the other items on the market this one is far more appealing, but it still holds very little interest for me as a practical vehicle, maybe as a toy and conversation piece.

      Probably super safe with all that extra room!

    A real competitor to the F150 Lightning and Rivian R1T.

    I wish suicide doors were helpful with their massive aperture for entry, but they’re not practical given the constraint of having to open the doors in narrow parking spots. Maybe they have a place in the future with summoned vehicles to pick us up and drop us off? 🤷‍♂️ 😆

    I went back 4 years on your channel and didn't see a Rivian review. Any plans to review it?
