This is the segment of the industry that I am highly interested in . A daily commuter is really needed , something very affordable , sensible , and most importantly American made! I would look at the American made model . I also own the long range , duel motor , model Y and I love it !
Having it classified as a motorcycle it won’t have to have most of the safety features that a car would have keeping the price as low as possible. As a commuter vehicle would make sense for those going to a city and such as 99% of those commuters are solo.
@@northvanracer No. No lies, just business decisions. They are still in business and are designing a 4 wheeled EV and working on E-motorcycle projects. Owners of the Solos are happy. I hate lying hate trolls. Post a link to a reputable verifiable news service describing how they lied or shut up.
I ride a three wheel Canam Spyder and have found on gravel the wheels always want to be in the wheel ruts on the road. This means the back wheel is constantly trying to slide to one side or the other to get into a rut. Not ideal for stability. I would think this would have the same problem in gravel and on snow covered roads. So not ideal if you are not on dry pavement
I wonder if electronic control over the traction being provided by each wheel might help that. Maybe not with EM, but perhaps with Aptera (which have three independent wheel motors).
My Arcimoto has been extremely practical and fun. I removed my rear bucket seat to have a huge cargo hold. Why drive in an isolation capsule when you can have the joy of a motorcycle without the dangers? These ARE way cheaper - they get the motorcycle rate meaning you save an average of $900/yr every year. Add the gas savings and these pay for themselves quickly. Too bad the Solo was discontinued.
Stop calling it a car; it's a tricycle. The layout makes it so that when you swerve to avoid a pothole with your front wheels the back wheel will hit that pothole.
I'm thinking my girl can ride on my lap when going to the city. If you're worried about safety than you're not living life. Two up seating is a must. I hate big vehicles. My smart EV won't make the trip. 26 miles each way. Now; can I get it in yellow?
IDK. As a toy, fun car, at 1/3 the price….maybe. But a Bolt is far more practical and another $10k. Who in their right mind would buy this? (And right now the stock is $1.30/share 🤨)
It is a matter of resources. If you need a second car just for a commute to work. Why buy a SUV? When a smaller car will do. So.... why buy a car with 62KWH battery? When 17 KWH will fit your needs. Plus, is more fun to drive.
Federal tax credit requires a vehicle to have 4 wheels to qualify. Vehicle must also be (final) assembled in USA. I'd like to get this for my daughter to drive to college and around her campus. She needs less than 25 miles each day.
Just bought one!!! Freaking love it!!!!! I drive 23 miles to work, each way. It's awesome.

That Electra Mechanica eRoadster, that looks like a good time. Perfect summer “fun” car for the CT shore, or anywhere for that matter.

Looks great. If they come to Australia I’ll grab one.
According to Electrica Meccanica the Arizona plant is now open and building Solos
Good to know!
Cancelled. This vehicle is discontinued. Current owners will be supported.
@@popeyegordon Yes. They have been lying to their shareholders since December.
@@usaverageguy Actually, from the very beginning.

Road trip idea, SOLO CT to FL with Bailey!!!
torture
Probably can not be done. (Drive an hour. Charge 3 hours on level 2). Then repeat. Solo is just a short trip vehicle. But a great shotr range vehical
11:56 "Solo. What a great name for a product."
Like Solo cups.
Manhole cover fixed the sound. 👌🙂

They may need to employ an arrangement similar to the Citroen where two closely spaced rear wheels are used.
I wonder if electronic control over the traction being provided by each wheel might help that. Maybe not with EM, but perhaps with Aptera (which have three independent wheel motors).
Are you going to the Electrify Expo in Miami in October (8th,9th)?
Something for everyone.
6'5"?? Did they have to take off the roof to get you out? Would have liked to have seen you get in.
Wasn’t pretty
I believe the new Federal tax credits do not include 3 wheelers like this one, Aptera, etc which is an incredible shame.
It’s a motorcycle with car features. It would be a great way to get back into it and not be afraid of people on the road.
No, it is an autocycle. Words matter. It is governed under autocycle laws.
So much more practical than an Arcimoto. Wish they were cheaper.

I hate scam companies. They dropped the price $4k now that the $4k tax rebate is gone. Smh!
There is no scam of any kind. In fact this car is discontinued. They gave up.

Two up seating is absolutely NOT a must, hence the sales of this vehicle. It is illegal to hold kids in your lap. But the Solo was discontinued.

I'm going to get two.
The Bolt costs 50% more. That's not a small price difference. If this car meets your daily needs, then why drag around 4 extra seats all the time?
Who in their right mind would pay 10k more for something they decided they don't need?
Solo has regen braking. Surprised you didn't notice the gauge for this feature. Oh well.
