When we were kids living in Mobile Alabama he would bring his diving equipment over to the neighbors pool. Just a regular kid but yeah he was cool back then too!
Love your new releases directed by Delaney! They bring back a lot of memories of your dad. My fondest was the opportunity to watch an entire show on stage in ‘88 on the pier in Manhattan standing alongside Ross Ritto and Joey C.

I saw him in 1974 at the Cellar Door in DC. Jimmy would start telling stories and the Coral Reefer’s would start playing songs to get him singing again. It was the best show I ever experienced❣️ He is a legend for sure.
I was in my early 20’s and I always said I didn’t like Jimmy Buffet except margaritaville then one day I read an article in the St. Pete Times about Cubans that ended up on his waterfront property and he made them drinks and I think gave them cd’s it was such a great story. I put in my sister’s CD, songs you love to sing, and the rest was a 30 year love affair I’ve lost count of how many concerts I’ve seen. I’ll miss him.
Fifteen years ago my wife, a diehard Parrot Head, was approaching her 50th birthday. I too was a big fan and thought Jimmy’s book, “A Pirate Looks At Fifty”, would be a good gift. Then, I thought an autographed copy would be even better, so I called a friend who knew Jimmy. Sometime before my wife’s birthday, an autographed book arrived with a photo of my friend and Jimmy inside. The book is still a prized part of our Buffett library.
I met Jimmy on the Island of Anagaga in the British Virgin Islands. Sat and had a beer with him while we discussed his new book’ A Pirate Looks At Forty’ It was by far the best memory I had ever had. He was great and unassuming and didn’t know why he was so popular. I told him that we were all living his life 2 weeks at a time. He remained a friend for the rest of his life. RIP J.B
In 1978, Jimmy played our little campus auditorium at Eastern KY University with a cast on his leg, and I and a friend were in the front row after winning the tickets at a Montecarlo night. I went on stage & handed Jimmy a bottle of Chivas Regal and he then changed the words of Steve Goodman's "This Hotel Room" from "leave a candle in the window" to " put some Chivas in the window I'm comin home" 😂😊❤🎶🎵🎶Many years later I would end up designing & painting signs, tables, & adirondack chairs for Margaritavilles all over the country....Jimmy was the ultimate example of HAPPY...I will love & miss him forever❤❤😢🎵🎶🎵🎶😁☮️❤️😎🌴⛵️🌊⛱️🐋
Was At a Buffett Concert in Massachusetts 2nd Row Standing. Been To 16 of Them , He Calls Me Out and Says Brother Where Did You Get That Tan . I Said Turks & Caicos and Showed Him My T Shirt. He Says Ahh Jimmys Dive Bar . I Said I Eat Breakfast Every Morning At Jimmy’s Dive Bar . Everyone Around Me Was Like You Know Him , Jimmy Buffett? I Said Yeah We Have Breakfast Together Every Morning at Jimmys Dive Bar in Turks and Caicos. Too Cool !! I Had to Tell Jimmy at Jimmy’s Dive Bar about This Terrific Experience. Awesome Place and Awesome Performer . God Bless You Jimmy Buffett, You Are Never Forgotten and Your Music Plays Every Day in My Life.
It was in the mid 90’s. I was working as a missionary pilot, and our group was restoring a DC3 in Lantana Florida. Another missionary group was using 3 DC3’s flying from West Palm Beach International airport. Three of us went to talk to them and see if they could help us find some parts we needed. Outside of another big hanger near by was a big Grumman flying boat. I went over to speak with two mechanics who were working on the seaplane. The engines were the same as the ones that our DC3 used. Well, as I was talking with them a third man came by. He said they were getting ready for a warmup flight and would I like to come along. Yes I said, who would turn down a flight in a seaplane. I climbed in side and the place looked like a beach bum’s paradise. I could see the rich guy who owned this airplane much have been a Jimmy Buffett fan. Right now I should mention The only Jimmy Buffett some I knew was Margaritaville. Any way, this guy dressed is shorts asked if I wanted to go flying and I said yes. We go flying for about an hour. I get a few minutes flying from the right seat. During the flight we are talking on the headsets and I think this wealthy guy must love Jimmy Buffett. We land, and I thank them for the flight and walk back over to the other hanger. One of the guys over at the other hanger asks, well did you have fun? I told him the flying boat was a great airplane and I had fun. He said no, I meant, how did you like flying and hanging out with Jimmy Buffett? I had no idea.
I went to see him, Alan Jackson, Zac Brown & Trombone Shorty back in 2013 or 2014 and man could he ever put on an amazing live show!!! Especially for his age. He was always on my must see list until I finally got to.
My favorite Buffet story recounts a concert I attended early in his career. He and the Coral Reefers, in the early stages of their career , played a nearly free concert at the Orlando Sports Stadium. A friend and me sat on lawn chairs and listened to the fellas while drinking and yucking it up play nearly every song they knew up to that point to a sparse group ofgrateful listeners. It was like being at a party with Jimmy playing his songs, throwing a few back, and laughing and having fun for hours of delight.
Jimmy Buffet was a member of my fraternity. I never met him but thought it was pretty cool. My frat always played Buffet songs at parties. My pledge brother loved Buffet so much that he became a true Parrothead, and after making a nice income, traveled to over 60 Buffet concerts all over the world, often in the front row. He of course met Buffet many times, including once or twice when Buffet brought him on stage to sing a song with him. My pledge brother sadly passed several years ago, in his 40s. RIP Dave Lee Sue and Jimmy Buffet. J Laz
I had the pleasure of being his server 4 years in a row at a restaurant in Laguna Beach CA. He was my favorite of all time guest. I also was treated, by Jimmy himself, to concert tickets to his shows. Epic tickets I may add!!! My heart is so sad at his passing.
I’m 72 from Nebraska nothing special but I joined the Parrotheads back 2012 and he came to Omaha when he opened a Cheeseburger place and hung out and played a couple of hours he came in the passenger seat of a new mustang and the man he helped get out of the backseat was Warren Buffett, seen Jimmy twice and never forget him, I play his music almost every day ❤️🎶🌴🌅💦🦜
Oh how much fun and good times I can recall partying to his music I had every one of his lp's and still do and still listen to him regularly was a transplant in Florida from Michigan during the snorting 80's with his music as the soundtrack of the time from the well known hits to the last mango to door #3 all of them great in their own way cuz my pickup gets me where I been ,and i wish i had a pencil thin mustache, went to a show of his in the 90's in Detroit with my then wife and another couple and I believe the show was sponsored by Jose cuervo so there was a little boat drinks being consumed and the couple and my wife at the time were just not into the festive parrot head mood so i latched onto the end of the conga line dancing around the place and ran into a chum with a bottle of rum and also a trash bag of these plastic shark handles that clipped on the side of your solo keg cups and made a handle to hold your drink well the bag had hundreds of them and needless to say all the pretty lady's wanted them and were bearing breast to get us to throw them their way lol so ya got good party music ,good booze, tittys and dancing, and the best fans ever good people and one of the funest concerts I ever had the privilege to go to and Believe me I've been to 100's of shows only ones to come close to a good party time like Jimmy is j.giles band and the Tubes also very fun shows, and theres my Jimmy Love . Love, peace and jurked chicken Grease ....
I lucked out with front row center tickets to one of Jimmy's concerts in Oregon. A girl from the upper seats saw me and worked her way down to jump on my lap right out of the blue. Jimmy looked down and cracked up. Security dragged her way. I looked up at Jimmy, smiled and shrugged. Through tears of laughter, Jimmy did the same. It is nearly impossible to plan a golden moment in life like that. Thank you Jimmy!
My first time seeing him and his then bassist and tenor 🦅 Timothy B Schmidt at the old Charlotte Memorial Staidum on "Off to See the Lizard" in 7/1989 the night before seeing the Beach Boys and Chicago the first time, at Greensboro Coliseum, and the last time I saw him (License to Chill Charlotte Pavilion 2005), when he sang, "I go for younger women" I yelled and he looked at me and held out his hand and smacked it lol!
I will always remember him no matter what, as far back as cheeseburgers in paradise and his famous words as if I say right now it’s 5 o’clock somewhere him and Alan Jackson rest in peace, Jimmy, you will always be missed fly high❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😇😇😇❤
I miss the beach balls and the concerts with the Parrotheads, knowing they will not happen again. Jimmy was uniquely gifted. We were so lucky to have him.
We met during a golf benefit- I was the only cheesehead in this Colorado ski town that knew how to cook brats the “ right” way. Hr (Jimmy) couldn’t have been nicer. His signature smile was real&genuine! One of a kind wonderful human being. A model we All should emulate!
My most favorite song was Margaritaville. I wished I had the opportunity to at least go to one of his concerts. I also loved it when he got Alan Jackson, George Strait, Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, & Toby Keith to do Hey Good Looking.
Knew Jimmy while fellow student at u of southern ms...1966..Jimmy played music at local hattiesburg bar..we would be drinking there (town house lounge)..he would be playing on stage behind a piano .when he would take a break, we would play the righteous bros on the jukebox...told him that story when I saw him last at lulu's in gulf shores (sisters place)..2004..
1979-71 in Atlanta, went to see what 5 points was all about . Hundreds of people wandering around but thru the crowd I heard a familiar sound , I walked towards it , thru the door , and there on a barstool sat Jimmy Buffett , not famous yet , but geniune. I sat , drank a beer and enjoyed his songs . Best time .
In 1982 My brother Max Crabtree was a member of the Corol Reefer Band. Max was dieing of cancer. He and the band came to the hospital with an author graph album Coconut Telegraph which he dedicated to him. Max Crabtree.
There's also the story I thought would be among them. Jimmy had an encounter (ret) Sheriff Bufford Puser, the actually sheriff that the films, "Walking Tall" were based off of. This was the early 70's in Tennessee I believe. Puser was evidently somewhat larger than life who you didn't mess with. Jimmy was very intoxicated, took an a** beating but managed to survive the event. I think Puser died less than a year later. The encounter was referenced in Buffetts 1974 album A1A and the song was, "Presents to Send You".
You missed the time at the end of a show in Australia, when he walked off of the stage and hit his head, knocking him unconscious. A neurosurgeon in the front row took care of him until he got to the hospital.
I scored front row seats for our 13 year old son Cameron's first concert in Kansas City. In the middle of Cheeseburger in Paradise, Jimmy came over, removed his wrist band and tossed it right to Cameron. Instant parrothead for life. It probably didn't hurt that our Cameron has red hair like Jimmy's son Cameron.
I camped out all night for Jimmy Buffett tickets back in the day so they sold one ticket then the computer went up so I had to settle for lawn seats after spending the night waiting but there was some good conversation with other fans so it wasn't all bad.
At the time of the seaplane accident in Nantucket, there was the Tampa Tribune and the St. Petersburg Times. Many years later the two newspapers would merge and become the Tampabay Times.
Well, where to start. What do you say about a soul that taught you how to treat life like a true friend and gift. I never met him personally but he was waiting to hear my story. He may incorporate us all in a song or book or just a n important smile. He was an artist, a father, a mentor a friend... forever..sail on sailor
St Augustine Tradewinds Bar, he set up equipment for the bands In the beginning The rommers were that they wouldn't let hom sing or participat? He hung out with Gamble Rogers and Art Shields The album 'Fruitcake" is dedicated to Gamble.

Love your new releases directed by Delaney! They bring back a lot of memories of your dad. My fondest was the opportunity to watch an entire show on stage in ‘88 on the pier in Manhattan standing alongside Ross Ritto and Joey C.

Jimmy’s music will always be the soundtrack of my life. I can put on any album and instantly have a better mood.

I only saw Jimmy once. It was before he became famous and was playing at a fair in Laplace, La. I've loved "island" music ever since! RIP Jimmy
Class act! RIP Jimmy! You are SO missed. 😢

Loved his honorary doctorate speech at the University of Miami, really good content, all college students should listen.

😊❤ he had a great and fun life, also a great singer.

There is no tragic history of Jimmy Buffett, he lived probably the most envied life of anyone in America
I seen Jimmy at Wrigley Field in 2018. Amazing!

Yes, I would say he was a happy, happy guy with his actions. The songs he wrote yes, he certainly live life to the fullest.
I have alot of great memories of concerts with mu late husband Frank
Jimmy Buffett was mine and my husband's first date. It was 20 years ago on 8-23-2003 his Tiki tour.
What was so tragic about his life? He had a very adventurous life and leave it at that!
