I completely agree. The Wyrmwood logo is set, but now they need to standardize the rest. Find the font that works the best across ALL the products that need lettering, and just use that. The idea that the stuff that I buy this year will have the same look and feel as the product from next year appeals to me. Makes it all feel uniform.
Big agree, that will help keep things interchangeable as we go down the road, and will help if people want to buy more later, or follow up on kickstarters down the road to expand a collection.
I kinda disagree but not in a "yOuR wRoNg" type of way. I just prefer variety. For example, I get super board of seeing the exact same Magic the Gathering logos on every product. I like it when the fire symbol is drawn differently. I still know it's fire. It also helps distinguish Paladin as a brand. Mabey it would be good for Wyrmwood to have a set of logos for their stuff specifically, but right now a lack of symbols IS their aesthetic. I even cringed a bit when Bobbly was talking about removing the logos from the Paladin stuff.
@@VagabondTE things like icons and fonts should be consistent, though, because they have utility. If Wizards of the Coast suddenly changed the icon for mountains, for example, it would be confusing. They use icons so that there's no question how to play and instead use the artwork to create variety. Same with font. You can tell the difference between card text and flavor text because of font choices. The card text needs to be legible first and foremost while the flavor text can afford to be more stylized.
Agreed. The clipart is all well and good but creating clear, unified designs will absolutely elevate this, and likely clean it up in the ways Bobby mentioned.
Why Wyrmwood haven't reached 1M and more. Look at the quality!! Not just the episodes but the products. They already find their horizon of creativity, man no body gonna get bored watching Wyrmwood from first episode till now. Everything is exciting
I admire Scott for being honest about needing an editor. I love his eye for design but yeah, some elements are a little too busy. Also the tiles at the very end were great, I had a good laugh at that!
Amazing video, hyped for the new kickstarter already... but there's something I can't get out of my head with these sorts of video's; Wyrmwood make such awesome furniture, and has so many awesome craftsman walking around... Yet their meeting room is just a bunch of random tables shoved together...
Gotta say seeing Bobby go all professional and show he really knows his shit was pretty awesome, he so often just shows his goofy side for the camera, If I got this I would 100% want the wall hanging with all the tiles, can't wait to see the finalized versions as Bobby is right they are WAY too busy and I look forward to see how the art informs the function. Like an ammo counter having a bundle of arrows or something to signify ammo rather then a dragon head.
Scott's gaming table was one of the first Wyrmlyfe episodes I ever saw and it's so exciting to see where y'all have come. Can't wait for this Kickstarter!
scott's gaming tiles are for sure something i'd buy a whole table's worth for my gamers. i like the look and feel and the utility of it. and we dont have any hex stuff but we do have a lot of regular box stuff.
I'm catching up on Wyrm Lyfe episodes, but this one has me super excited. I've still yet to play a D&D game in person but I'm still going to grab some of these. They're just too cool to pass up.
Definitely love the idea of sliming down the sku's. as much as I would love the dice jail in the middle option, I see the need for it to be just in the biggest. I definitely think there could be some decrease of design- more so in the making sure the tiles match what it is doing. I like that the trick shot dial for example had a target on it. As much as I love the Tree of Gondor- probably should be an add on if anything. can't wait for more development!
The other really obvious bonus to simplifying the dials is that you don't have to make unique dials for each tracker; each amount (10, 12, 6, whatever) is just a single SKU that can be dropped in to the specific slots.
From the laser a product shall be woken, A creation from the Paladin will spring, Refined will be the design by the craftsmen, A new system shall now be King
I think you should look at making it more modular and magnetise the pieces together (would fit more with the wormwood style). The 4 tiles piece could be individual pieces that snap together (2, 3, 4,5 etc wide, 2x2, 3x3, 2x3 etc) They could then stack on top of each other for storage. what about making them a hex? Or making a hex option? They could be attached to a tray, dice tower etc, so rather than having two options it’s just adding parts. Think about how they would attach to or be used with the modular gaming table? Done form of holder do they can slide into the rail on the edge?
One of my favorite episodes in a while! Love every episode but something about watching the whole creative process and a complete story makes it more entertaining
I kinda like the busy look on these. And I love the art because it reminds me of old school dnd art. Whatever you go with, make sure the art looks as consistent as possible.
That end card was actually the first one to ever actually get me to like the video. I have liked episodes before because I enjoyed them, but that was the first one I found so cleverly enjoyable I immediately liked the video. Well done
Making the old "basic" model with storage into a single instead of a tripple would be huge. It would be like a tracker vault. Get my dice and my HP tracker with me, good to go.
I agree with Bobby about getting rid of the embellishments on the trays/holders. But i actually quite like the tiles as they are, just maybe make the numbers and arrows pointing at the counters a lil bigger
I'm gonna go against the grain here (pun intended) and disagree with Bobby of the flashiness of the product. It screams Paladin Woodworks and it fits his already based style. He is popular for innovative design and quality and taking it to a new level by adding graphics to make it more immersive to the context its being used for. He stated he disliked having the design on the rolling surface but Wyrmwood has done similar things in the past with other dice trays. I say keep it. Allow Scott to maintain his style and designs but add certain flairs to remind us of Wyrmwood's partnership with him. For other commenters, please reply with comments and disagreement, I'd love to convers about it!
I honestly wish there was a way to prevent the cut out look, make them cleaner and streamline like existing Wyrmwood equipment and integrate them somehow with existing Wyrmwood products. I'd love a tracker on my party tray for example, much like how Bobby tilted those tiles up.
I completely agree with everything said in the meeting; except for one thing. I would not reduce the embellishments. Especially not the logos on the tiles. Not only is that part of the appeal of his designs but it's also part of the D&D aesthetic. It's literally a game of saturated books and cluttered charts. Seeing the dragon before the stat is a feature! This is because you associate the picture with the stat. For example, This is part of the Magic the Gathering design language. The art is associated with the card to make it more memorable. And this goes doubly so for icons. Removing the logos on the tiles would make it less interesting and more difficult to use. So, maybe reduce the art on the trays and simplify the icons on the tiles, but I wouldn't remove them entirely.
I actually really like the 'busy-ness' of the individual tiles. I think it makes them more interesting and I would enjoy playing with them more, long term, because of their detail. I think paring back details on the tile holders makes sense, but I would be very careful of simplifying the tiles too much.
I love simplicity too! But there are most assuredly cases where more is better. Scott's liberal use of little bits of artwork everywhere enhances the products and makes them that much more unique. It would be 'busy' only if you were attempting to find information in a jumbled mess of lines and such. But in this case, the artwork on the dials indicate what the dial is for. It adds to the dial, it doesn't subtract from the experience of using it. In just about any high fantasy game, you will come across some overly intricate mcguffin that is expertly crafted and ornate, even if functionally it's just a key or a bookmark or a lock. I would be stoked to have dials like those on a tile as opposed to a plain dial with numbers around it.
Oooooo Can't wait for March. Also I agree that the art detail is not the typical wyrmwood and seems cluttered. The dice jail is brilliant and I absolutely love the idea of just changing tiles depending on the character you're going to be playing. I know some gamers have multiple campaigns going on. And I know some players who would support by buying a single tile. Especially if they could choose which one. Say a friend is currently playing a ranger. She may just want that tile. Love love love this. And I love paladin woodwork and his creations.
Here is an idea for you guys, expand your furniture line into end tables. I know I would find end tables with attachable cup holders useful and there are some people that would like all their furniture to match as far as wood color goes.
I'm sure they've discussed this, they may even consider the lil put to be their discussion of end tables. I get why they might not be interested in doing them production wise, but it's they're cheaper than a full size table and more likely to bring in customers. I'm just not sure about the end table being worked into as a gaming table design that they work towards.
@@alexblake8306 I was thinking they already do drawers for the chairs, have the leg layout, though they may need to adjust the length. It would be only slight changes and combining parts they already make into a table without the vault. The end table would not be for gaming and instead to match with the coffee game table in a living room setting.
Make options for dm’s as well … I would love one of these but I never play a character. Initiative tracking, hp tracking … I’m sure you can thing of mant more things.
As the owner of one of these already I love Bennett adding in "just wanting to buy a tile or tray to support this". YES very much yes. since I need some of the other tiles for future classes....I love my tray. I have one with the card holder and developed a little 5 x 7 cheat sheet that fits in a hard "card sleeve" that I use in the card holder section instead of spell cards....especially since I monk it up and you know....I just need my ki. None of that spell card crap. :p and instead of the "carrying briefcase" I want one of Scott's tower tile holders instead (other stretch goal maybe?!?!?).
From how they talked about it there's a good chance the towers are part of the base KS, since it is meant to be default storage, the tile board is more of a showcase to hang in the game room I think, which I love they're adding, since I'm one of the ppl that asked for it XD
I'm guessing there will be ways of tracking spell slots (one would hope) But what about spell points? Superior to slots by far, and more fun. Would love a counter for those. What about custom tiles? You have a blank canvas and your backers you pick what they want on it? Logistically possible? Maybe, maybe not. but it doesn't seem to have been thought through...
I'm going to take this one step further... Make the deluxe tray compatible with the dice tower. The big thing you guys have always been about is compatibility. I think if you hit that compatibility mark with dice towers you truly have a stellar product. You'd probably turn me from someone who is admiring this product to a day 0 backer too.
I think once you guys have a cleaner, more streamlined set of pieces to offer as the advanced prototypes, you'll feel a lot better about launching it as a Kickstarter. I think as far as how many pieces you offer, the Rule of Three is a very good psychological metric on how to proceed, so if you've got 4 items, it might be best to lose whatever one you think is the weakest.
I’d be a whole lot happier, and more engaged if your next KS was GM Screens 2.0… This excites me about as much as you doing Dice again… Honesty, not much… GM Screens, on the other hand… That excites me a great deal… As would a Bespoke Dice Towers and Dice Vaults 2.0… So many of your loyal fans missed out first time ‘round on those Kickstarters, and you don’t ever make them available to buy as regular stocked items on your website, so please give the rest of us a shot at some of the gorgeous products that those Kickstarters offered! 🙏
as someone who gets very easily obsessed with the "gotta catch'em all" aspect of things, if I had the money for the big board and to gradually fill it with all the tiles, I would be exorbitantly happy
I love the products in this video and that last scene was the coolest of ALL the end cards, but I love Wyrmwood's clean lines. I don't really like what appear to be feet that make it stand up off the table or the way the end caps are wider than the box itself. Clean, smooth lines are what make Wyrmwood classy to me. Just my preference.
I like the inlay on the rolling surface, i agree about most of the burning symbols on the exteriors. the rolling surface looks classy (though...that symbol might have some legal baggage?) with something simple and subdued. but the overuse of the laser engraving on the sides is...less nice. that being said, the tiles themselves look awesome with the embellishments. the dragon on the countdown spinner, as an example? looks great. totally think that belongs on a prestige product.
I would be even more interested in this if it was a flat pack shipped to me and I glued it together as a project. That creates another more appealing entry pricing, you guys can lessen the production time by a lot. Maybe that could be the entry level, and a further bump in price sends one all varnished and glued up.
I have a thought. If you have it "customer assembly" for certain things, it might help you with production and help lower the price point [or not, go with God Crispy], making shipping easier, and I think would be of interest since some people do like puting things together. Like they do for Broken Token. But then you need your media team to create the schematics/instructions for the assembly. Especially for something that's complicated in cutting.
I feel like the 6 tile + rolling tray is just asking to be modularized in some way. If the rolling tray was a separate item, then you could have a single 3 tile holder configuration as well. Slap two of those on either side of the rolling tray and you have recreated your current 6 tile + rolling tray upper tier.
I really love watching the creative teams work to come up with ideas for the Kickstarter and just products in general. Just watching the ideas and thoughts of everyone working towards the best products is great.
9:25 I don't know why but this give me Spice Rack vibes for DnD Paraphernalia. Like, I genuinely want to just hang it in a kitchen and see how long it takes someone to realize it's _not_ kitchen related at all.
Not sure if this has been said but I think being able to buy it as a flat pack to save on shipping would be awesome. I'd be happy to assemble it when I got it.
10:15 On the premium box the dice tray really should have a leather or fabric bottom. And while talking about the engraving on the side i agree the "standard" engraving of the helmets and symbols should go and a custom engraving could be offered at an editional fee instead. I wouldnt want the symbols but i might want my name or a quote there, maybe in elvish ;) Also on the 4x holder (holy shit that looks great) couldnt the lid have 3 (even 4 sides, but 3 is easier to open and not as boxy) instead of the 2 you had now and it could still easily clasp to the top with magnets plus you could use it as a dice tray over or under the trackers. Right now when the 4x holder is in use the lid is useless and just sits underneath. The utility would go way up. Yes it's a narrow and long rolling surface but you don't need all that much space.
HOLY SHIT! The band is AMAZING!!! I've shared, followed, liked, streaked, snapped, and pushed on my social medias! Critically under subbed. Well done. VERY chill - smoked a big phat one while listening to Liminal - I'm going to put this on repeat, well done! You've got my ducats!
You guys need a graphic designer to come up with consistent iconography for all the classes, tile types, etc. To make them all look related.
I completely agree. The Wyrmwood logo is set, but now they need to standardize the rest. Find the font that works the best across ALL the products that need lettering, and just use that. This is the best new idea wyrmwood has had in a while

Please keep the embelishment as an option! I love all of the extra details it gives so much flavour to the products
I love this idea. I would definitely buy a tile set with storage, maybe even the smaller dice tray if it includes the dice jail
This just might be my first product from you guys. Love the Paladin guy and his work. This is classy of you guys!

proud to say i went to So So Band Band's bandcamp and bought all their music, so good!
Amazing video, hyped for the new kickstarter already...
but there's something I can't get out of my head with these sorts of video's;
Wyrmwood make such awesome furniture, and has so many awesome craftsman walking around...
Yet their meeting room is just a bunch of random tables shoved together...

This will be the first Wyrmwood Kickstarter I partake. Love these things.
And while you are at it, a DM screen 2.0. Pretty please 🥺.
I would be even more interested in this if it was a flat pack shipped to me and I glued it together as a project. That creates another more appealing entry pricing, you guys can lessen the production time by a lot. Maybe that could be the entry level, and a further bump in price sends one all varnished and glued up.
personally I'd buy the slim one with potentially addon tiles for extra classes.
What if you use the lid on the new tray as the dice tray?
That's an interesting idea
Smart.
it would make it thicker?
I have a thought. If you have it "customer assembly" for certain things, it might help you with production and help lower the price point [or not, go with God Crispy], making shipping easier, and I think would be of interest since some people do like puting things together. Like they do for Broken Token. But then you need your media team to create the schematics/instructions for the assembly. Especially for something that's complicated in cutting.
Keep the Dice jail on both of the higher ends. People would be glad to have it even on the medium tray.
I'm here just to see the new "Like, Comment, Subscribe" bit. I was not disappointed.
I think I would like the storage thing more if it was smaller but double sided. with perhaps lids like the long one.
On the slimmer on, line the lid with some leather so it can become the dice tray.
I want to mount that full set on my wall of my living room it would be an epic wall peice
They could make one that works with the tabletop tray. You would lose the dice jail, but not everyone wants one of those.
The issue is that bumps their sku count, which is probably already going to be high due to all the tiles.
I really love watching the creative teams work to come up with ideas for the Kickstarter and just products in general. Just watching the ideas and thoughts of everyone working towards the best products is great.
I would 300% back this kickstarter
9:25 I don't know why but this give me Spice Rack vibes for DnD Paraphernalia. Like, I genuinely want to just hang it in a kitchen and see how long it takes someone to realize it's _not_ kitchen related at all.
I really like the one they are cutting. Wish they would just turn it to a 4 piece and put it as a stretch goal.
I have been craving poutine for a few days. Because of Doug, I'm gonna get poutine tomorrow😌
Not sure if this has been said but I think being able to buy it as a flat pack to save on shipping would be awesome. I'd be happy to assemble it when I got it.
BAahahah the Poutine joke!! LOVE IT.
10:15 On the premium box the dice tray really should have a leather or fabric bottom. And while talking about the engraving on the side i agree the "standard" engraving of the helmets and symbols should go and a custom engraving could be offered at an editional fee instead. I wouldnt want the symbols but i might want my name or a quote there, maybe in elvish ;)
Also on the 4x holder (holy shit that looks great) couldnt the lid have 3 (even 4 sides, but 3 is easier to open and not as boxy) instead of the 2 you had now and it could still easily clasp to the top with magnets plus you could use it as a dice tray over or under the trackers. Right now when the 4x holder is in use the lid is useless and just sits underneath. The utility would go way up. Yes it's a narrow and long rolling surface but you don't need all that much space.
I am Canadian, and I have eaten poutine 5 days in a row. I felt like garbage afterwards though. I love these, just wish I was doing in person games
3 different price points seems perfect
HOLY SHIT! The band is AMAZING!!! I've shared, followed, liked, streaked, snapped, and pushed on my social medias!
Critically under subbed. Well done. VERY chill - smoked a big phat one while listening to Liminal - I'm going to put this on repeat, well done! You've got my ducats!
Great process. I wish the meetings I have to attend were this efficiently agenda’d
Depends on how much you can change up things in a poutine... and if I had to make it myself!
You guys at wyrmwood are doing it all wrong! You need to start the DM screen Kickstarter campaign!
It would be cool to make the paladin tiles into hexs. Male them compatible with other hex tiles and the overall hex system.
