@ 1:15 James could have punched it wide, 2 rails with some inside, to come back for a good shot on the 6. The inside would have killed the speed and kept the cue under the 6 for James. @12:00 Maybe push bank the 9 back into the 3? @14:20 Great idea. A little left english off the 9 may have worked. @17:00 I really like that you got up to refocus. I have missed so many shots by not resetting. @19:55 If you can reach, I also like to hit the 2 on your right side and send the cue 3/4 rails behind the 8. But you hit a good safe. @21:45 Perfect!!!🙌 @28:55 Great Stroke!!! As long as your eyes are not playing tricks on you, you shoot well when you let it out. @31:35 I would have loved to see you punch it like you did on the 5, but great out! Also, your position banking the 4 was Boss!!!! Both you guys played well. Really enjoyed watching. Look forward to another match.
1:15 you can also play this a little heavier on the outside and let it spin 2 rails towards the line. 12:00 yeah, getting the 9 out of the pocket was the right shot. Just didn't even consider it. 17:00 good habits being put into play! 28:55 this is a big focus right now. Relax and trust the game in competition. Working on separating the practice mindset and performance mindset. 31:35 just a lapse on this one. Luckily could still make it work.
Tough to compete against all those 'early 9' combo's James was able to pull off. ...and yeah! the 9 ball going to that same pocket every time on the break was really odd!
Unrelated to the video but had a quick question for you...Have you heard from or heard anything about Drew Von Porte?? He always makes incredible videos that are very well edited, and had been posting once or twice a week fairly consistently. And then suddenly, over the last couple of months, nothing! I knew you guys have/had been in contact and had your match together so I thought that maybe you would have some info on him?
Definitely need more games. I'm finding that I feel overly-attached to the ranking and I'm working on not giving it so much weight, but a loss like this tanking my score kinda stings. I am curious to see where it settles. I've regularly beaten 600+ players, but never in ranked events, so time will tell.
I wonder how much the competition affects the rating? I've seen 650s that look better than most 700s. That being said, I think OnTheSnap looks like a solid 630-650.
I wish I could have gotten that color diamond table . I have a black one because thats what was available and I’m not good at waiting lol I know poor me.. my diamond table isn’t the color I wanted 😂
This is one of the reasons I don’t like BCA nationals 9 ball. 9 ball counts AND its rack your own. This should never be the case. The first time I see an opponent rack their own and the 9 ball goes flying immediately, I start checking their rack and making sure the back two balls are touching each other. I bet you if you inspected these racks, there would be a small gap right between those two balls. Under a true right rack, the 9 ball should not move unless it’s kicked.
100% Correct. A friend was telling me about a guy repeatedly making the 9, so I showed him how easy it was by putting a gap in one of the balls under the 9. I made the 9 on the first try and proved my point.
@@tralfazy Just put a gap under the nineball then break and see what happens. There are two balls under the nineball, if either is not frozen (touching the nine), then the nine will move toward the corner pocket (in the direction of the gap). If there is a gap under the nineball to the right, it has a good chance of going in the lower right corner.
Sorry but anyone who calls dirty pool because you've gone into safe mode doesn't play the game. They play "run out pool" and sorry bud, this is chess... not checkers. SO WAIT, THIS DUDE CALLS DIRTY POOL BECAUSE YOU PLAYED SAFES BUT HE WENT FOR 3 EARLY 9'S?!? BRUUUUH...
I think on the pushout, making the 9 was also an option.
Ah, didn't even think of that 🤦♂️
When there’s a gap between the two balls behind the nine ball, the 9 usually move immediately like it’s doing here.

It really was, on both accounts!

Yeah we've been in touch a bit. He's good, just taking a break from the Tubes.
I gave up pool after losing to @OnTheSnap in Vegas 😭
I wondered if you played in that. I watched the entire stream. Some monsters.
Yeah it's a great event!
@OnTheSnap I first played against Stevie when we were teenagers!
Awesome to see the show of support.
I think you need a lot more games to get an somewhat reliable Fargo. Tbh, 626 feels a bit high. I think more like a 560ish player.

Haha yeah cry about it!
Seriously, though, these are beautiful and definitely the kind I'd try to get if I could.

I don't understand why the magic rack isn't used in most situations. This takes the rack out of the equation in terms of advantages.
This is good info. I'll definitely keep an eye on those back balls.

@@jeffna1802 Where exactly do they put the gap? Not that I want to do that, but I want to know what to look for.

Definitely.
When James called it out, I think he was joking and making fun of the term, as far as I could tell. Just banter, really.
@@OnTheSnap I agree. I thought he was joking, but was surprised by all the early 9s.
