You made a good point, it will be interesting to see how the story will unfold with the Bene Gesserit as main characters instead of just a driving force from the background, seeing what they do & how the creators handle them & the story

Look I’m all for this if it’s cool and good, but I’m lowkey starting to get worried for all these films that are hitting hard or just right getting TV series like The Batman with Penguin, Godzilla with Monarch, now this.
It’s like when we were kids and there used to be cartoons based on the famous movies like Batman, the ghost Busters and so on.
@@diosnelfrica590 but that was different tho. You weren’t necessarily missing something that could be a crucial worldbuilding or lore aspect or something that further advanced the story. You could just watch those at your leisure. Love the Batman The Animated Series tho, if that’s the one you were referring to
The différence with dune is that it will not influence the films of Villeneuve. It add more to the lore but you don't need to watch it for the third film. @@NinthShinigami
@@NinthShinigamii can see that possibly being an issue with Penguin since that looks like its going to be a directly connected story between the batman and the batman 2. In dunes case tho, the world and lore is so expansive that you can easily tell a captivating story set in the past that wont interfere with understanding the movies.

I know Dune was a movie about Paul. However, Jessica was the rock everyone broke themselves against. So, I look forward to this series.
It was a better trailer the second time you watch it. It’ll be interesting, the world of Dune is so big you can explore more outside of Arrakis but it does feel like they kind of want to make a Game of Thrones space. Wether that works is another thing but there’s a lot of talent here
Dune is basically when Star Wars meet Game of Thrones.

remain with me, in a far more vivid way..

Despite really liking the recent Dune films, I can’t say I’m too excited about this.
I can see this going either way to be honest.

10,000 years? looks like 10, 000 minutes before Paul was born
10000 years before Paul is still 10000 years into the future (Paul is 20000 years in the future) so the tech would still be advanced
@@neosavic 50 years in our past feels like a parallel universe. Back to the future is a great example. I would like that same feeling especially with such a wide time gap.

Big fan of the (Frank) books, and this one is based on Kevin/Brian stuff that ain’t great. Hope they will change enough to keep interesting. Cinematographers are Dune Pt1 & GoT alum. Hope it becomes a hit. We could use more good TV.
I'm not too sure what to think about this trailer. It looks a lot like Game of Thrones in space if i had to describe it but I'm just not sure how it will work without Timothee Chalomet because i think he's what pulls the Dune universe together.

What?... The World is vast. Encompasses many things you do not even know about. Let alone have to approve. But for the record..... Has been being talked about for 5 years. You seem a little uninformed. Might be the reason you were not asked.
This is not Dune, the book. It is one faction of that book's backstory. Does not have anything to do with Paul. If you are looking for a version of the Dune book here. Look elsewhere. Seems strange to be worried that the elements of Paul's life not being here is a concern of yours. They open the trailer stating that the story starts 10000 years before Paul. Is a dead giveaway that Paul is not here.
But this is where and when the Bene Gesserit made a grand plan/prophecy of crossing bloodlines between the Great House to one day, produce their ultimate weapon; Kwisatz Haderach.
@@calvinkopp1735 Maybe. Do not know when that will be introduced. Also, an abstract "The One" is still not Paul.... yet. So again, my premise in other comment is that this story is not about Paul.

You know there are lot of dune books that cover the worlds history right.. this is adapting a prequel book like house of dragons did for game of thrones.

@@tyleroutland435 I can see not likely prequels since they undo what the main story does if it's a tv and movies series but adaptation have a definitive history and lore they can't fuck it up unless they really want to.. but each their own, you don't like prequels you won't have to watch it since making this is not really going to having any problems with the release of third movie different teams and different actors so it will release at same time regardless.

I’m a fan of the dune movies, but I find this project unnecessary.
I'm fan of the Dune books, all of them, and I find this really cool.
It adapts a prequel book so it’s not really unnecessary just that you won’t need it for the third movie. It’s mostly for the fans who want to see the books get adapted and movie fans who are curious as to the world’s lore. Plus it was in development as long as the first dune movie so they did really thought it through.
It's a vast world with a dense history. I suppose no movie/show is necessary. But what makes this one specifically unnecessary?
The same was said about hotd, andor, loki and even the last of us, and in the end the results were excellent, the concept of whether something is necessary is debatable, but it would be a lie to say that many times there are no positive results

Personally I’m not a big fan of film franchises getting TV series and this trailer didn’t impress me too much. So unless we get some more interesting trailers or good reviews I might end up skipping this one. Hopefully it ends up being good though 😬
