One of my top three favorite movies of all time! Saw it in theaters 3 times when it came out. The first time I saw it, the audience was so in to it, when Ripley finally closed the Airlock at the end, there was literally a standing ovation in the theater.
I agree with you, wish Cameron would've continued making regular films instead of those Avatar movies. But,I guess as long as he's enjoying himself and making new films, let'em have his fun. LOL.
Probably seen this movie well over 200 times since it's release and it's still as phenomenal. Ripley has always been my number 1 sci-fi badass character.
James Cameron low key made a movie about mothers and daughters that men loved and didn't even realize they were watching. (He's actually said that: The movie is about mothers and daughters.)
The idea behind Hicks taking a nap on the way down was to show that he’s a veteran. Experienced soldiers know that when you’re on mission your opportunities for eating and sleeping are greatly diminished. When you see soldiers stop for any amount of time they’re usually stuffing their faces with food or sleeping
Found the American. Him sleeping can imply many things. Recklessness, carelessness, arrogance or just trying to show how cool he is. But you do you buddy. Gobble that up.
And then goes back into the nest of the monsters from her nightmares, does battle with the Literal Mother of Monsters, to rescue and protect her adopted child
Fun fact: the kid actress playing Newt kept messing up that scene @43:14 on purpose so she could slide down that vent over and over again. When the director James Cameron eventually found out, he just told her that if she completed the shot, she could do it as many times as she likes. She did, and he kept the promise.

Carrie Henn (Newt) said that the Assistant Director told her they would film the scene in the water the next morning. So he had the water kept warm overnight. The next morning Newt said the water was too hot, so her and the "Alien" sat on the side bathing their feet in the water till it cooled down. Carrie Henn gave up acting and became a Primary School teacher but her and Sigourney Weaver are still good friends. Another fact Paul Reiser's Mother went to watch the film. When the Alien grabbed him she stood up and cheered. I know you have to be aware of Copyright but I do think you cut bits of dialogue half way that spoils the meaning now and again.
1. Michael Biehn/Hicks played Reese in Terminator as did Bishop/Lance Henriksen as the assistant police chief. 2. Am I the only one thinking that maybe they're so cheap that they sent her back out hoping she isn't going to collect her back pay. 57 years is a shitload of Benjamins. They totally screwed her. 3. Fun facts, lets see here... The Alien Queen was created and brought to life curtesy of Stan Winston's Creature Workshop, and a team of 8 puppeteers! This movie also did a fantastic job of intermingling scenes of full scale sets with scale models. Its often difficult to even tell where it happens. The 15 minute countdown to the facility detonating was literally timed to 15 minutes worth of scenes :D
This sequel is so great and complete, you literally do not, DO NOT🛑have to watch any of the films after this in the franchise. Trust me, you’d be surprised how this franchise looks, if this is the last thing you see of it, till they make a truly better sequel.
This is the best sequel ever. Most people vote for T2, but I like this one better. It is notable that both were done by James Cameron. In my opinion his biggest mistake was getting into “Avatar.” His output could have equaled Spielberg’s otherwise. A note about Gorman: it wasn’t his fault. Gorman was a newly commissioned lieutenant with almost zero experience commanding in the field. If memory serves, the mission wasn’t deemed important enough to send a more seasoned officer. He did the best he could. Apone, his Sargent, ran the platoon. Gorman’s actions later in the movie show that, in time, he would have made a good officer.
Not least because after Gorman wakes up, he makes no attempt to retake command of the unit. He lets Hicks lead, knowing he's an experienced soldier, the others respect him, so Gorman just follows Hicks' lead. And of course, when the monsters come boiling out of the darkness, he squares his shoulders, takes aim with his sidearm and starts placing bullets on big domed foreheads. I mean sure, his pistol isn't doing jack to the Aliens, but he was still going a long way to redeeming himself, especially when he went back for Vasquez.
Yeah, wish Cameron had stuck with regular movies too. But,also remember Cameron took lots of time off from making movies to explore the Titanic wreckage and visit rain forests.

BEST SCI-FI ACTION MOVIE EVER MADE! Nominated for 7 Oscars: Best Actress Sigourney Weaver Best Original Score, James Horner Best Production Design, Peter Lamont Best Film Editing Ray Lovejoy Best Sound Editing Best Sound Mixing Best Visual Effects, Stan Winston, John Richardson, Dennis Skotak, Robert Skotak. It won Best Visual Effects and Best Sound Mixing. It made $193 million dollars ($409 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget.
the crazy part of that of course is just how much MOVIE you can get for 18 million dollars without using any cgi... every single thing in that movie "existed"... we couldn't come close these days
@@notimportant3686 It's not CGI that eats the budget. CGI is CHEAP! It's cheaper than making stuff for real out of plywood and fiberglass. It's actors' wages and shit like that, that's inflated like crazy. A single nerd on an average PC could make a model of one of these aliens in a single day, fully rigged and textured and ready to be animated. And it doesn't matter how many the movie requires, cus you can just copy and paste them and never have to repeat that work. You can just edit the textures if you need them to look different. Again...an hour in Photoshop is more than enough. And it's not even necessary. There were only 4 alien suits in this movie, and nobody noticed. You couldn't make this for 18 million today, cus Sigourney Weaver wouldn't get out of bed for less than 6 million. James Cameron would want more than 18 million just to spend on hiring cameras. Hell, even the catering would cost you a couple million. You buy an egg sandwich for $0.50, but if you're a production company making a James Cameron movie, people are going to tell you an egg sandwich costs $50. And you have to pay it, cus if you send out for an Uber Eats, the catering companies will go on strike, 'cus they really WANT to sell $50 egg sandwiches.
Bill Paxton has the honor of being the only actor to have been killed by sci-fi's most famous predatory creatures:a Predator, a xenomorph, and a Terminator.
Paul Reiser's character Burke was so despicable that his own mother cheered when he got killed! I love this movie. P.s. I'm old school and prefer practical effects ( when well done) vs. CGI.
Ellen Ripley is one of the best characters in the entire history of cinema, she is the perfect hero, with exceptional charisma, who does what needs to be done and without any need for powers or other kind of magical stuff. please, don't spoil the good memories and good feelings that these two movies gave you by watching the other movies after these, if you want just watch the 2004 movie "alien vs predator", which is not bad at all, the other movies either are garbage (in part or in whole), or simply ruin what was done with the first 2.
There's a deleted scene with Ripley and Burke (won't give any particulars because of spoilers). I'm sure if you do a search for "Aliens Deleted Scenes" it'll come up. :) Fun fact: Paul Reiser took his mother and sister to the "Aliens" premiere. During the film, his sister hit him. And when Burke got his comeuppance, mom simply said "Good." XD
Vasquez is also the foster mum in Terminator 2. Bill Paxtons reaction to the hand game was real because they didn't tell him that they were going to use his hand
When Newt fell down the airshaft at the end they had a family friend who was like an Older Brother/Uncle to her dress up in a Bug Suit to try and cause as minimal Psychic Trauma as possible.

"Aliens": Third Officer Ripley has been found and taken to Gateway station with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD. What will The Suits of Weyland-Yutani make her blowing up the "Nostromo"? It looks like you're watching the theatrical version that I saw in 1979, which is fine. 8:05 Actor Jenette Goldstein was a body builder and showed up for her audition dressed like a Chicana, since she thought "Aliens" was about "illegal aliens.";) 8:20 I've read that Lance Henriksen was "doing the knife thing" between scenes and the director added it to underline Bishop's "Synthetic Person" strangeness. 9:41 The Colonial Marines are going on a Bug Hunt, but THEY are The Bugs! 11:06 Hicks and Apone see that Ripley isn't a "front office paper-pusher" like Burke, but a working class dog like themselves. 18:17 In 1979, I wondered how Ripley was able to "get close, quickly" to Rebecca, unlike the female Marines. A reviewer of the time said: "Sisterhood!" I bought the Special Edition Laserdisc(!) in 1990 and confirmed that Ripley had been a parent. 20:52 A leftover from the theatrical version of "Alien." 21:15 Disarming the troops, heading into a hot zone always bothered me. Check out the SE version, "Ripley and the soldiers" takes on more Pathos and weight. Look for the Assembly Cut of "Alien3," if you continue on Ripley's journey...
It was Gorman inexperienced in command that cost them there. There is no need to send the whole unit to investigate , you send three man scout team to canvas and report what going on , they had evidence there are hostile in area, no need to commit the unit , also if found out can not use heavy arms fire in the processing center, should have pulled them out. It was totally Custer fuck minute they went in there.
Now this is how to make a film with a kick ass female characters! Ripley & Vasquez we’re tough as nails!! I f’n loved this movie. I watched this in the theater when I was 10 years old. I still love it just as much now as I did back then.
No, they are government, Burk's the only W-Y employee in the room, the rest are from Department of Colonisation and ICC (Interstellar Commerce Commission)
Compared to the first movie, this one was more of an action movie than a horror film to me. But it was definitely a great sequel. Great reaction guys keep up the great work and happy new year to you and yours ✌️ 💜 🙏.
This sequel is the best sequel ever made to any movie hands down, the special edition is the one to watch, it helps you understand Newts and Ripley's bond a little better. I always loved Sigourney as Ripley she kicked ass and got the job done.
Not only one of the best films ever made, also one of the best protagonist's ever as well. Hollywood can keep it's superheroes, give me Elen Rippley or Sarah Connor any day of the week.
Bishop is following his programming, he even refuses the pistol, realizing that the aliens are sententent beings. (Check out Asmov's Law of Robotics.) Ripley throwing down on the Queen Alien has to be the biggest bitch fight in cinimatic history!
It absolutely boggles belief that this is the FIRST time you have ever seen this movie, considering it's age and your age, you have never seen parts or bits of it? that's absolute madness.
Great job, S and K. Your reactions are so much like mine when I watched this so many years ago. 😃 So much unlike modern movies. Ellen grew from a regular person, through adversity, into a badass hero instead of being born with all the skills, courage, knowledge of weapons decades ahead of her and, of course, invincibility.
The Queen shares some anatomy with termite queens. Most notably, physogastry. An extremely oversized abdomen as it matures into an immobile egg-laying machine. ...obviously the Alien has an advantage since it can apparently lose parts like that to go on homicidal revenge quests.
I'd like to know what aliens these Marines dealt with prior. They must have been fighting small bugs. I'm surprised Ripley didn't ask. If I had to serve with an artificial person/android I'd initially try as hard as possible to make it angry to ensure it could be trusted. Imagine the constant insults Marines would be hailing at it daily. Haha, I wonder if you could adjust its humor settings to deal with that. Ripley is one the absolute best characters, she always speaks common sense when it needs to be said and doesn't have some special superpower ability to survive, she just digs deep and overcomes.
I just had a thought a good couples reaction video is HBOs CHERNOBYL, 5 part mini series. Its historically accurate about the accident at the Nuclear Power plant in the Soviet Union.
I recommend watching the extended version. It adds some background info that adds more depth to the movie. Why they didn't leave it in for the theaters I'll never understand . . .

Best Visual Effects, Stan Winston, John Richardson, Dennis Skotak, Robert Skotak.
@@ashscott6068 that's not contrary to what i wrote
Bill Paxton has the honor of being the only actor to have been killed by sci-fi's most famous predatory creatures:a Predator, a xenomorph, and a Terminator.
Thank you for watching this. I loved it.
The actor who played Burke. His mum actually cheered when his character died when she saw it lol
Paul Reiser's character Burke was so despicable that his own mother cheered when he got killed! I love this movie. P.s. I'm old school and prefer practical effects ( when well done) vs. CGI.
I`m a fan of a mixture, practical effects where possible and the rest good cgi,
I think I´m old school, too! 😉
Ripley’s elbow doesn’t have to be strong enough to support the weight of the alien queen, it just has to be stronger than her shoelaces.
I LOVE that the harppin gun, was still stuck in the door.
Amazing sequel. I love the inclusion and introduction of the Alien Queen who gave me nightmares. I still Hate Burke and wish we saw him die
There's a deleted scene with Ripley and Burke (won't give any particulars because of spoilers). I'm sure if you do a search for "Aliens Deleted Scenes" it'll come up. :)
Fun fact: Paul Reiser took his mother and sister to the "Aliens" premiere. During the film, his sister hit him. And when Burke got his comeuppance, mom simply said "Good." XD
@@TarotMage seen that one but it was anticlimactic
When Paul Reiser's mom watched the movie she cheered when her son's character got killed by the alien haha
53:44 - if she squished the queen's head, acid would eat through ship's hull.
Vasquez is also the foster mum in Terminator 2.
Bill Paxtons reaction to the hand game was real because they didn't tell him that they were going to use his hand
Hudson's reaction to "five finger filet" was the right one.
When Newt fell down the airshaft at the end they had a family friend who was like an Older Brother/Uncle to her dress up in a Bug Suit to try and cause as minimal Psychic Trauma as possible.
love this film
The ONLY movie were the sequal is waaay better then the original 😊… one of my favorites of all time…!
What about "Terminator"?
@@ScarlettM imho Terminator 2 Judgement Day didn’t had a killer storyline like Terminator 1… T2-JD was build, shoot and after that hyped primarily for their FX like James Cameron said…
@@SonyStudioPro Storyline in T1 is definitely better, but I would say that acting is better in T2 (especially Arnie). Linda Hamilton was great, kid actor did a good job.
In the extended cut you see that she had a daughter that had aged and died while she was lost in space for those 57 years.
Aliens is arguably the greatest sequel and the greatest sci-fi ever made
This is favorite aliens movie I'm so happy I got to see your reaction Guys, my favorite part is Ripley fighting the queen👽 did you guys know that the actress who plays newt she's a teacher in real life and hope you guys watch Predator movies to !!!
Yes that was an awesome scene!! Had no idea about Newt!
@@snackandreact Yeah me too my parents told me when I was young and I remember also aliens is the only movie that she's only been ever in !!
29:44 that is definitely one of the most famous lines in this franchise, "game over man, game over!" 🤣
40:54 your reaction was priceless like so many others!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Always enjoy your videos guys. You would really enjoy the movie OPEN RANGE with Kevin Costner, and WITNESS with Harrison Ford. Keep up the great reactions!
Thank you!!!
The alien queen is still to this day the largest rod puppet ever filmed
40:53 that's the best "Oh Sh!t" I've ever heard!🤣
You look like a hero, man. This is good, we will need someone to stay behind while the rest of us escape.
Bruh, he talked over Vasquez's funniest line. "No, have joo?"
Boy She Was Into it !
I LOVED IT!!!
9:45 - Kylie Reese right there 👑
Devin looks completely different without his facial hair. I'm shook.
He really does!!
I remember when I watched this movie for the first time I wanted Vasquez to survive because she was so badass
Man, you guys seem so chill. This is such a great movie, I can't believe it's from freakin' -86. Loved your reaction, so... pleasant :)
You guys have a merry christmas and a happy new year!
I liked your reaction very much!
Devin you seen this why you acting brand new? 😂
I have found my RUclips couple. ❤️ I haven’t been into movies lately but I decided to look up the color purple and saw you two. A blessing to my channel 🤌🏻 keep up the great work. I plan to watch them all 😅
"Aliens": Third Officer Ripley has been found and taken to Gateway station with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD.
This will be great 👊👍
Nearly 40 years old! And still a benchmark on how to make a sequel.
4:43 "That's the government for you"
But those are Weyland-Yutani employees, not government.
No, they are government, Burk's the only W-Y employee in the room, the rest are from Department of Colonisation and ICC (Interstellar Commerce Commission)
I have a constant internal debate wether or not this or Robocop is my favorite movie. Right now, it's Aliens. :)
Literally one of my favorite movies of all time. New subscriber. yall watch the good stuff ;)
Not only one of the best films ever made, also one of the best protagonist's ever as well. Hollywood can keep it's superheroes, give me Elen Rippley or Sarah Connor any day of the week.
Outstanding reaction, guys! I saw it while I was in the Army the day it opened. Unreal! It really is a fantastic film. Subbed for more.
Bishop is following his programming, he even refuses the pistol, realizing that the aliens are sententent beings. (Check out Asmov's Law of Robotics.)
Ripley throwing down on the Queen Alien has to be the biggest bitch fight in cinimatic history!
I had to rewind so many times. He said I wonder if its cold in space>? ROFL what the hell.
It absolutely boggles belief that this is the FIRST time you have ever seen this movie, considering it's age and your age, you have never seen parts or bits of it? that's absolute madness.
I totally get it!
My favourite film of the franchise
Great job, S and K. Your reactions are so much like mine when I watched this so many years ago. 😃 So much unlike modern movies. Ellen grew from a regular person, through adversity, into a badass hero instead of being born with all the skills, courage, knowledge of weapons decades ahead of her and, of course, invincibility.
Thank you!
A masterpiece of a movie! (2023.09.29)
I suggest watching SHE'S FUNNY THAT WAY
Great reaction! Please, please, stop here. Do NOT watch Alien 3. It totally ruins this movie which is the best in the series.
This movie might be one of the best sequels ever made, with Terminator 2 and The Godfather 2, and Ripley's a bad bitch 🤣
Congratulations! Best and most real reaction I´ve ever seen on RUclips on the greatest movie of all time. Keep it up my friends.
Wow, thank you!
This was the beginning of the female action hero.
Ripley was a bad ass and is for the next 2 movies.
I just had a thought a good couples reaction video is HBOs CHERNOBYL, 5 part mini series. Its historically accurate about the accident at the Nuclear Power plant in the Soviet Union.
I recommend watching the extended version. It adds some background info that adds more depth to the movie. Why they didn't leave it in for the theaters I'll never understand . . .
Excelent reaction guys. A hello from Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Great reaction guys!
