    FYI, this is /not/ a fiber laser. It's a DPSS diode laser. There is no fiber gain medium inside it.

    • @freebird1963
      @freebird1963 11 месяцев назад +2

      Yea they all call it Fiber cuz it does the metal. Pretty lame and not doing the community any good calling it a Fiber and not changing the title so as not to mislead people on.

    It is not a 20W laser, it’s a 2 Watt laser. The machine is 20 Watts, but the laser itself is 2 Watts - the same as the LaserPecker 4 and the xTool F1, but both of those have a blue laser as well.

    Seems very over price considering you can buy a a lot more powerful real 20w fibre laser unlike this DPSS 5W LASER for not much more

    Which Laser can Engrave Zinc Alloy with Electroplated Coating on a Budget?

    • @Neo7CNC
      @Neo7CNC  Год назад

      Not sure but I do know you'd want to have excellent ventilation to be lasering Zinc. If you have a test piece, I'll try it with the M4 and report back.

    Can this laser cut through thin sheet metals say

    • @Neo7CNC

      I don't believe so. I was able to cut aluminum and brass sheet stock with the ComMarker 20W fiber laser though.

    I am very interested how Atomstack will work with white marble. Do You have any idea is it even possible to make logo on white stone materials? Please, give me a hint, because I am looking for a laser for marking marble products. With kind regards, Marcin.

      I can’t verify exactly but they do look the same and I know a lot of these types of products are just rebranded.

    does it work on wood?

    • @Neo7CNC

      Not so much. This wavelength of light works best with metal and some plastics.

  • @paulreeder5241
    @paulreeder5241 Год назад

    Looks like it does what the diode laser engravers do. It removes paint and chemically reacts to oils on metal. Nothing special imho.

    • @Neo7CNC
      @Neo7CNC  Год назад +1

      Not exactly. This laser actually etches into the material. The LED lasers I've review worked with stainless steel but they were just changing the color of the steel and they didn't work on copper or brass at all. As seen in the video, this laser actually etched brass, steel, raw aluminum (not anodized), copper and even Inconel. Not something any of the LED laser could do.

    • @fbujold

      @@paulreeder5241 I did watch. Engraving the surface of a copper plate yes. etching the surface to the back support not in this video. and i quote "You can't feel it but you can definitly see it" PCB requires you to remove the metal completly, not just see it
