FYI, this is /not/ a fiber laser. It's a DPSS diode laser. There is no fiber gain medium inside it.
Yea they all call it Fiber cuz it does the metal. Pretty lame and not doing the community any good calling it a Fiber and not changing the title so as not to mislead people on.
It is not a 20W laser, it’s a 2 Watt laser. The machine is 20 Watts, but the laser itself is 2 Watts - the same as the LaserPecker 4 and the xTool F1, but both of those have a blue laser as well.
Another excellent presentation...very informative...and fun to watch.. great job
Seems very over price considering you can buy a a lot more powerful real 20w fibre laser unlike this DPSS 5W LASER for not much more
Hi, Did you find a good one?
Which Laser can Engrave Zinc Alloy with Electroplated Coating on a Budget?
Not sure but I do know you'd want to have excellent ventilation to be lasering Zinc. If you have a test piece, I'll try it with the M4 and report back.
Can this laser cut through thin sheet metals say
I don't believe so. I was able to cut aluminum and brass sheet stock with the ComMarker 20W fiber laser though.
Your presentations are always the best. Thank you again for all you do!
Thanks so much for watching!
Love the review David. I wish it worked on a Mac also. Still... sooooo tempting. Ciao, Marco.
Great informative video. 👌
I am very interested how Atomstack will work with white marble. Do You have any idea is it even possible to make logo on white stone materials? Please, give me a hint, because I am looking for a laser for marking marble products. With kind regards, Marcin.
So is this the same design/ internals as the Atomstack M4 ? It looks the same?
I can’t verify exactly but they do look the same and I know a lot of these types of products are just rebranded.
Can you mark some PLA/ABS with it? Change color or just cut?
I will try this soon and get back to you.
Tried PLA and was not able to get a mark. Tried what I believe is white ABS (old Bose remote control :) and got a very readable mark.
Hey Dave, the discount code no longer works. Found this video too late apparently. Any chance you might be able to get another one? Pretty pleaseee. 😂
I’ve asked for a new code but probably won’t hear anything until next week. We’ll see.
@@Neo7CNC Thanks David, maybe they do, maybe not. Thanks for looking into it.
@@EZ_shop They sent me a new discount code today. It's in the description.
@@Neo7CNC Awesome David, I’ll check it out.
does it work on wood?
Not so much. This wavelength of light works best with metal and some plastics.
Looks like it does what the diode laser engravers do. It removes paint and chemically reacts to oils on metal. Nothing special imho.
Not exactly. This laser actually etches into the material. The LED lasers I've review worked with stainless steel but they were just changing the color of the steel and they didn't work on copper or brass at all. As seen in the video, this laser actually etched brass, steel, raw aluminum (not anodized), copper and even Inconel. Not something any of the LED laser could do.
Hello how about glass?
could you engrave PCB on it?
Weren't you watching his video? He showed it engraving a PCB.
@@paulreeder5241 I did watch. Engraving the surface of a copper plate yes. etching the surface to the back support not in this video. and i quote "You can't feel it but you can definitly see it" PCB requires you to remove the metal completly, not just see it
Even if it could, it may leave carbon traces, definitely not what you want on a circuit board.
@@stevem1081 true. Thanks
I've ordered some to try. I'll report my findings soon.
Thank for the video! Can it do .999Fine silver or .925 sterling silver?
I think it would but I'm unsure what the mark would look like. If you have some I can try, I'll test it and send it back.
@@Neo7CNC thanks…however I actually purchased the M4 and got it to mark on .999FS and sterling. I don’t have the settings down though..I need a deeper mark…also I can only do text, I haven’t figured out images on seacad yet..
@@betonsilver8238 How is the result on 925 silver? Does it look good?
@@artjommaier3993 yes it looks good…I’m going to do a video on .999FS, .925, silver and copper. I was actually watching your video again today…when marking on aluminum it’s coming out very light, any suggestions?
@@betonsilver8238 I guess you have me confused with the RUclipsr, but let me now when you have done your video. Would be interested.
