Do you think they would give up the story script for such a mundane " it's all been done before " script of " we know everything and how it ends , so surprise the Audience " so how about if its Palpatine brother or family etc .. and just before you release the most powerful weapon , creates the actual rebel resistance and then cut its throat at birth ?
I've said this before, HOW ISN'T Gareth Edwards in charge of a future trilogy, after his ROGUE ONE, spun off success, and to this date, might be the most successful and well regarded part of Disney/Star Wars.
Gareth Edwards was only part of it. It's Tony Gilroy Star Wars needs. His writing. His overview. Add his brother Dan, and Beau Willimon, and Stephen Schiff and you've got something.
For the love of gawd please don't screw this up. Are the same people making this season as the first? Season 1 was legit the best tv show ever, top to bottom.

@@floydb5668 I hope the new trilogy can be good. It's not part of the Skywalker saga anymore which is good at least. I'm glad that they're not rehashing the Skywalker saga.
Andor is the best SW content along with Rogue One. Three seasons would be nice, but as long as they have time to tell the story as well as S1 did then short and sweet is perfect!
Not … even … close. Clone wars, rebels, ahsoka, and acolyte hands down had better storytelling. Andor adapted a generic casino heist movie to Star Wars.
@@Eternalozzie Have you been sniffing your own dirty laundry basket? Please tell us you're trying to taunt us, if only the budget for CW,Reb,Ahs,Aco had have been spent of 5 series of Andor. Script-writer Tony Gilmor is the only assurance of quality in the Disney SW set up.
It surprised me that Andor season 1 didn't get huge audience numbers and I seen lots of ppl calling it slow and boring.. For me it's the best Star Wars show that's been made, complex, emotional and brilliant acting with great dialogue👌
My understanding is that two seasons was locked in from the start not that Disney extended it due to being well received. Gilroy initially plotted out and proposed a very extensive story, five seasons iirc, but soon realised it was too much of a commitment, Luna has also suggested this. I think Disney wanted to cut it down even more and Gilroy told them his two season plan or nothing.
April is a fine time for me. I would love an animation year if they keep it tight. I guess I am in the small percentage of people that enjoyed the Bad Batch. Andor has me more excited over projects like mando/grogu. Season 1 was well done. I think stopping at 2 seasons is good. The years moving as the episodes do is a fun concept. Can still hide stories in between in animation or the comics I guess.
Andor is a piece of art and anyone who says otherwise is willfully shooting themselves in the foot. SW isn't a genre, it’s a universe and many different genres, themes, characters, and stories have yet to be discovered in that universe. If someone wants the 'feel' of the old movies there is good news, the old movies still exist, so literally go watch them again. As horrendous as some of the Last Jedi was I have grown to appreciate that Rian was also trying to make something new, his execution in some of that 'newness' was very questionable but the stuff that worked really worked. This misguided unconscious consensus of SW fans that we need to ‘recapture’ those feelings from the first films has led to an over saturation of bad SW trying to live up to something it shouldn’t even need to. Every SW project doesn’t need the same themes, characters, and feeling as the OG trilogy, that'd get repetitive and very boring. Most new projects have virtually become parodies of the source material where nothing is left but references cameos, and generic mic-drop lines that fit in any situation. I love Andor not just because it is full of heart, nuance, and complex storytelling in a thematically dark setting but also because of what it represents: innovation of SW and a new hope that future SW projects don't have to be self referential, sloppily written, poorly executed, mass produced projects rather than pieces of art that stand on their own merit. Disneys and the fans problem has been thinking that SW is a genre and everything must fit into very confined rules. If someone thinks Andor is too boring they need to consider spending less time feeding their dopamine receptors with stuff like Tik Tok and take the time to pay attention to what’s happening between action sequences. They’ll realize that that there is a lot of nuance and character work happening, it is a masterclass of writing and direction. If someone thinks Andor doesn't feel like SW they need to reframe how they understand the IP, it is not a genre of itself. The themes, characters, settings, sounds, textures, virtually everything is straight out of the Lucas doctrine and what story he was trying to tell. If someone thinks Andor stands shoulder to shoulder on equal footing as Obi Wan, Ahsoka, or Boba Fett they need to try and summarize one of those shows and try to summarize Andor, the difficulty to do so for Andor succinctly is indicative of the complex level of detail and care. Andor is lightyears ahead of those shows in virtually every cinema or storytelling criteria. Anyone who loves Andor should be promoting it and recommending it to everyone they know. Systems either change or die and there is only one way out of this SW slump of bad media.
Super bummed that this will be the 2nd and last season of Andor, but I am also extremely excited to see what happens before they get to the start of Rogue One.
The first time i watched Andor i watched it relanctutly and i thought i wouldn't like it as it is like more spy oriented and stuff...Oh boy do i like when i'm this wrong, the feeling of realising it's actually super good is intense !
When I first looked at Star Wars Andor the first episode I thought to myself "why did they make this?" I'm glad that I continued to watch it because it was one of the best Star Wars series.
Andor is far and away the best Star Wars Disney has put out there. It's great because it was not closely linked with all the usual suspects and outspoken advocates that try to preach a real life message. The way the writers wrote drama was fantastic
I absolutely love the fact that they have used scenery and items from the old star wars pc games - star wars galaxies (2003 - 2011) and Star Wars Tie Fighter (1994)
GO DISNEY GO!! Disney has been absolutely crushing it with Marvel from Deadpool & Wolverine to the retro-looking Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and Agatha All Along! Bring on 2026, and here's to even more MCU, Star Wars, and Pixar magic in 2025
Andor season 1 is the best or more well structured project to come out of Star Wars imo. The story and characters were great and despite not heavy on the fantasy stuff it was a visceral portrayal of rebellion
Can't wait for it. One of the better SW live action shows on Disney+ by far. Sad to hear only 2 seasons. Maybe they can have a show based around Luthen. :-)

Damn. No live action SW TV after Skeleton Crew 😢 Imo. The TV side has been what's saved Star Wars, for me personally. Not all of it has been great, but all of it has been fun to watch. Not everything has to have Luke in it, but that splash in the end of the Season Finale of Mandalorian as Chefs kiss. Either I'm hallucinating or I saw Jude Law in the trailer, carrying a two-pointed spear 0:23 seconds into it... or did some of the other D23 stuff get mixed in?
THe every year time jump was well plotted in advance according to Luna, who is also a producer. So there are similar arcs lasting 3 episodes, to Season one, which each arch being actioned packed in last episode. Season One lasted 1 year about. This occurs over 4 years, so hopefully 12 episodes, each about every year, up through Year 5, which was the beginning of Rogue One.
Excellent, it's coming, but it's disappointing that it's being rushed. That's what made season one a smash hit with some of us fans: a slow-evolving, well-written, well-shot story.
I recently watched Rogue One again with the perspective of Andor S1 and its already soo much better. You care way more for him. Cant wait for the finer details of S2!
It'd be nice if Vader and Tarkin make cameos during andor season 2, since it does take place right before rogue one. Its already been confirmed that Krennic will appear in it.
This really should have been at least 3 seasons. Compressing all this into 1 more season of Andor, is going to make it really choppy and less enjoyable. Season 2 should have been training to be a spy and then season 3 being missions up to the discovery of rumors or hints of the Death Star.
I think speed-running the story is a mistake. Part of what made the first season great was the slow burn. They should have stuck to the five season plan, however much it costs.
It’s really hard for some filmmakers to get Vader’s eyes to look right. Seems like the asymmetrical nature of the original reflected light in a specific and consistent way whereas perfect molds made since ROTS have a bad habit of shooting light back at the camera unless it’s carefully filmed and when it isn’t it looks like someone at a convention.
I can’t wait for Andor. I’m so sad it’s ending, and Bad Batch is over. Plus, we still don’t have a new animated show in the same kind of formula of Clone Wars/Rebels/Resistance.
