Many people just do not care and use anything they got to get the iPod opened :-( Just wondering what kind of cable are you using to connect your iPod with MBP: I guess its MBP 2012 with firewire 800? So usually you would need an 400->800 FW adapter to make it work. On your video, the cable seems to be one unit. Greetings from Frankfurt!
