Helldivers is such a great co-op game, it really hits its stride once you hit the higher difficulties. Having four Helldivers focusing fire on a massive Bile Titan as the jungle burns around you is such a great experience!
This game demonstrates the importance of executing the simple moment to moment actions REALLY WELL and making them feel great. Old arcade games understood this, but over time this quality got lost. For example, think of how awful it feels to shoot a bullet sponge in The Division or how bad it feels to use the menu-based shooting in something like Fallout 4. Helldivers 2 makes shooting stuff feel glorious. It's weighty, punchy, and viscerally satisfying. At times I felt like I was playing an old-school arcade light-gun game, only I could move my character around.
Totally agree with the fun part you mentioned , remember back in the day gaming magazines like game gear and such used to have “ fun factor “ reviews for each and every game

I don’t need a game making feel there’s a $Million prize pool on the line, or that my streamer follower count depends on my in-game performance. Don’t get me wrong - I’m competitive, and I want to win. But fun with my friends takes priority. It’s why I hope the co-op experience gets more attention because of titles like Helldivers 2. And make them crossplay! (I’m begging you, devs; I spend ALL DAY sitting at a computer… when it comes to time to chill and play games I wanna hit the sofa and fire up my console).
@TYSL they do have cross play but only for PlayStation and PC, I have no idea if you are able to transfer your character/profile over between the two but they are still gonna be working on updates so hopefully that would be something covered in those updates. 👍 Keep up the fight for Super Earth and hope to see you on the battlefield sometime!

I love that smaller game companies have had the opportunity to have big outreach and popularity. Games like this intrigue me a lot, but I have a hard time wanting to pay for something like this. For the specific reason that in 3-6 months, they may have effectively no player count. I saw it a mile away when Battlebit released. It seemed like a great game! But is was effectively a fad, considering it only has 3k players, as of today. The same thing will happen with lethal company, in 6 months, we shall see if it has more then maybe 2k players. This game seems to be a much larger project, but again it seems like it will only be popular for a short while.
Watching your first video on this brought this game to my attention, been blown away with how good this game is and now a group of us are now playing regularly. Cheers dude for the content and keep up the good work!
I've only seen one video on YT where somebody actually uses the reload feature properly (it's not Jack BTW, lol). If you reload halfway through a clip/mag, you'll lose the remaining ammo. Took me a while to get used to it as other games have trained us to keep reloaded at all times, this is one of the many reasons I love this game.
I love this style instead of the previous FPS games. Like in the other games, how does bullets in a magazine that's discarded somehow teleport itself to the new mag and ready for fire after each reload?
I've also really leaned towards games that aren't riddled with microtransactions, I got extremely burned with MW2, first cod I've bought in like 7 years and they stop support almost right away, there's a huge list of games that personally over promise and under deliver.
Yeah its a reskin of hundreds of other games, no idea why it has blown up, I guess because its a Sony game, it gets a free pass on all fronts. But yeah looks like a fun game for a few hours max
@@wescagle160 Still said nothing about playing on the harder difficulties. Also it's been more than 2 weeks, game is still very much alive. So excuse YOURSELF. Thank you and have a good day.
I agree with your discussion on games recently. My opinion is the problem is big companies copy and paste ideas for a cash grab rather than considering new ideas of entertainment for the gamer (ex. COD & Battlefield). After a while things become bland so I think it’s great that there are some games with new ideas and refreshing mechanics this past year or so!

Absolutely, they've truly delivered outstanding content, but unfortunately, the regional pricing at $40 is just too steep for me, and that's my only issue
I wouldn't call a 100 person studio that is published by Sony a 'small indie team'. It's not triple-A sure, but not small. The game looks cool though! I loved the first one and this seems more of the same, although no much new (other than the perspective). But will still try it once a sale hits, it's still a nice coop game.
This game just allows you as the player to just have fun and I think that's what we're missing in games today. The developer just create a awesome experience then as the player we have fun and that's it simple as that.
I use it as a straight upgrade to the default pistol. It has basically the same stats so I put it on semi auto and use it as a pistol with extended mag.
That's interesting what you were saying about all these popular indie or non-AAA games recently. It feels like people are really starting to lose faith in AAA games and starting to realize all the creativity and talent has gone over to the indie space; it's just been fail after fail across the board for big game companies. BF, COD, Blizzard, Halo, Bethesda, Ubisoft. People are giving up on the major studios.
helldivers is my fave mp game in YEARS. its completely unique, but it captures a lot of the cinematic chaos that made the best of the battlefield games so entertaining

the perspective shift from 3D isometric to third person over the shoulder reminds me of when risk of rain switched from 2D side-scroller to third person for ROR2. And it was such an amazing change. Watching this made me wonder if we had a game like this inside the Starcraft world and lore... god i would love to run around as a marine and shoot down Zerg enemies.
When carrying the artillery shells to load them, pick up a shell, move towards the ammo rack a meter or so, drop the shell, then pick it up again , move a bit, drop. Rinse and repeat until you can load the shell, then apply same process with each extra shell until rack fully loaded. It will take 50% less time to move the shells to the ammo rack.
A few problems, here and there, but overall, amazing game. Btw, anyone that got into Helldivers 2 should give Deep Rock Galactic (DRG) a try. Very similar stuff, if you liked Helldivers 2, you probably will like DRG.
This game is actually incredible... This game is still undefeated... This game is unexpectedly good... You'll never believe what I ate for dinner yesterday... This pancake recipe will blow your mind...
Tip for carrying the shells in the first bit of the video - you can use X on PS5 (not sure the keybind on PC) to drop and pick up the shell again, and if you aim up a bit can 'carry' (basically float) the shell for a bit at a much higher speed. Makes the objective a lot quicker!
Surprised by how amazing and addicting this game is so far. Can't wait to see where it goes. Hoping for Raids and bigger multi-squad games to enhance the "global war" feel. 10/10 democra-TEAs!
Jack just ignoring the gold beacons in the beginning made me sad. Lol. Also, when carrying the artillery rounds, you can spam the pick up button to move faster.
So many little things with this game make it a complete package; next time you’re playing spend the round just listening to the audio and the musics queues, how it slows down, ramps up with the action, and almost ‘murmurs’ to cause suspense. I love it!
Jack, you probably wont read this, but the social aspect is something that's very common in VR games. voice chat, elaborate custom experiences and the likes are probably my favorite reasons to dust off my index every once in a while. i recommend looking into it, even if just for a bit.

I've accidentally taken a dive on one and also had a charger body-slam me into one and both times I was launched at high speed to my death. Under specific circumstances they may be useful for throwing you out of a danger zone but more often than not they'll get you severely injured, disoriented, and/or killed very quickly.
edit: I was wrong, just diving on it doesn't work, and it's possible that getting thrown into it via charger triggered because the charger hit it right afterward too. Someone should probably experiment with these to see the specifics.
Chargers also get stopped and stunned by the smoke balls, if you can kite one into them
also walking on them setting of the smoke depletes your stamina instantly it seems
@@EASY7356 Not a full depletion, but it does reduce your stamina considerably. I know that when I walk into one, my stamina takes a light hit but regenerates almost instantly, though sprinting will take a sizeable chunk. That being said, I use light armor so the extra stamina regen might be off-setting it compared to medium/heavy armor.
The CEO at Arrowhead is a real gun nut, so he made sure the guns were done right.
Man you're so right. So many triple A studios want to sell an "experience" nowadays. But a game just being simple plain fun is often overlooked.
"Would you celebrate Valentine's Day?"
"Nah, I'd do my part."
As an Battlefield fan I appreciate the level of teamwork and destruction this game offers. It's an absolute blast to play with friends, honestly one of the most fun games I played in more than 20 years of playing video games.
That good?
@@KenKaniff-dw4jw yes, that good. Especially if you have friends to play with... It's just pure chaos and fun, and it's atmospheric, and cinematic... just pure joy to play.
@peacewarlord got last physical copy at Target. Can't wait. Guy at work said it looks like Starship troopers.

@@peacewarlord I'm super excited.
Game of the year material for sure. The game gets real crazy on the harder difficulties but every time you extract you feel like you just pulled off the biggest heist ever
First helldivers was one of the top couch coop games ever. Very well designed. The Starship troopers vibes were amazing.
Can’t stop playing this game. So much fun
Totally agree with the fun part you mentioned , remember back in the day gaming magazines like game gear and such used to have “ fun factor “ reviews for each and every game
As someone who wasnt intersted in the first game because of its top down view and tone, i was shocked at how much im enjoying this game right now, its just a breath of fresh air.
This game gets wild on the higher difficulties with a full squad. You really do feel like an action hero. It has its issues, but it is still an insanely fun game.
Because you wear a cape?
@@MrBashem No, the intense action makes you feel like an action hero. Diving out of harms way and then flipping over to kill a bug that is charging you. It does a really good job of conveying the chaos of combat.
@@darkstar2480no it's absolutely because you have a cape. Everything else comes after.

Jack, pro tip: Rebind the strategem buttons to the directional keys so you can call them in while running.
You mean WASD? Or the button to pull up the menu.
@@JayPee6445 I think he means the arrow keys
@@JayPee6445 You can remap the WASD keys to the directional keys so you can still run around with WASD while using the directional keys to call in stratagems. It’s a good way to keep from having to stop and risk getting hit while you do it.
Finally pulled the trigger on a PS5 this morning because of this game. So hyped to play
Worth it!
Have fun!
It's not that they "forgot". It is just more profitable to make something that somewhat appeals to almost everyone rather than something that a specific audience really loves. Also easier which equals more games in less time with less devs. Eg more profit.
Would love to see a live stream with tomo and stod
You wont cuz it crashes every game almost
@@Nacht86what are you on? Mine runs perfectly fine. PS5 also it could be the servers. Devs probably did not expect this many players so they had fewer servers.
Reminds me of the film Starship Troopers. I'm all for it!
1. bring the shells first to the artillery, then activate the terminal!
2. load the artillery only with mini nukes the yellow ones, they are the best ones dps wise
3. you can bring them faster to the artillery by dropping them quick run for two steps and then take them up, there is a tip tutorial on yt!
4. the order of which the shells are shot if you order the SEAF Artillery via the Stratagems is from right to left…
I've never seen more than one mini nuke at an artillery. All the other yellows are always smokes!
@@MamaSymphonia Its RNG I've had 3 mini's spawn before but there is only ever 7 shells so you always have 2 extra to leave behind. These should hopefully be smokes but I've also gotten 3 smokes, 2 statics, a napalm and a single explosive to spawn so depending on whats available you may have no choice to get the gun running
Helldivers 1 was one of my favorite titles growing up can’t wait to play this!
I mean, every game you've ever played that you upload a video on is AMAZING...
You start to treasure every time you can get the gang together to play games. So many things happening for everyone all the time

I didnt even know this game existed a week ago, and now its one of my favorites
This game but you play as a clan of Predators, on a range of different hunting grounds, filled with Xenomorphs. “It’s a bug hunt”
“… They’ve forgotten they’re supposed to be a toy. Entertainment. Fun”. I’m so glad you’ve said this, Jack.
I stopped playing MP games about midway through BFV, and even tho several factors went into this, I was generally tired of feeling like I had to sweat to play a MP shooter.
Check out the yapper on this guy
@TYSL they do have cross play but only for PlayStation and PC, I have no idea if you are able to transfer your character/profile over between the two but they are still gonna be working on updates so hopefully that would be something covered in those updates. 👍 Keep up the fight for Super Earth and hope to see you on the battlefield sometime!
Sit on the sofa and turn on your pc? Makes no difference what your controller is connected to if you already own a pc anyway?
Unapologetically a game, you can play with your friends, 10:00 you nailed it
I’m playing the finals at the moment and I’m having so much damn fun , most fun I’ve had in a long time
the finals is amazing bro, been enjoying as well
That smoke you mentioned does actually do something. You can use it to obscure your movements and if you want to use some advanced tech, you can use it to launch yourself away or towards danger/objectives. Pair it with a stim to negate damage and you are golden.
I just bought this don't know what to expect I just watched the first 2min of this video. wish me luck.
You know we all want to see duo with Tomo! Your guys are the best!
Yep same I thought the same thing when those games came out. Once the content runs dry there's nothing left to do in the game
Like in the other games, how does bullets in a magazine that's discarded somehow teleport itself to the new mag and ready for fire after each reload?
that would drive me nuts just based on years of muscle memory from FPS games
Lol yep. I'm still trying to get over that reflex from CoD
This game is one of the most interesting I’ve seen in a long time. Actually gives me hope for the future of gaming. Just seems so fun
I've also really leaned towards games that aren't riddled with microtransactions, I got extremely burned with MW2, first cod I've bought in like 7 years and they stop support almost right away, there's a huge list of games that personally over promise and under deliver.
This game got me addicted and hooked like no other! It feels good, is fun and forces you to stay on your toes. Hope there is more content coming out.
give it 2 weeks its gonna die. Basica ass concept covered in pretty animations. no real skill involved
"no real skill involved" someone hasn't played on the harder difficulties or knows about the core mechanics of the game.
Yeah its a reskin of hundreds of other games, no idea why it has blown up, I guess because its a Sony game, it gets a free pass on all fronts. But yeah looks like a fun game for a few hours max

I dunno, seems kinda repetitive
Jack was talking about Star Wars Battlefront. Damn, exactly what I was thinking. If we could have a battlefront with the physics and gunplay of helldives, it would be amazing
I knew the movement was reminding me of something and it’s definitely battlefront 💯
I can't get enough of that soundtrack.
When you hear "I found something" those containers highlighted in blue can be opened, I think you have to salute and they open.
Helldivers 2 is so good, I don't mind spending $10-$20 on skins in the future, the devs has smashed it, funny cos I've had this on my radar as soon as it was announced. Love it
Absolutely, they've truly delivered outstanding content, but unfortunately, the regional pricing at $40 is just too steep for me, and that's my only issue
Movement reminds me of those arcade games with the guns like how delayed it is
I actually need to try this game watched your videos and honestly looks so fun, please upload more of it!
Worth everyone of those 4000 pennies.
really seems like it, payday soon and I think its mine@@GhostlyGhille
I wouldn't call a 100 person studio that is published by Sony a 'small indie team'. It's not triple-A sure, but not small.
The game looks cool though! I loved the first one and this seems more of the same, although no much new (other than the perspective). But will still try it once a sale hits, it's still a nice coop game.
This game just allows you as the player to just have fun and I think that's what we're missing in games today. The developer just create a awesome experience then as the player we have fun and that's it simple as that.
I’ve now started looking at the machine pistol as my primary weapon. It just rinses enemies
As a helldivers 1 veteran, have to say, second part blows my mind
Petition for Hell Divers 2 to come to Xbox… we have a trained community of ODST veterans; we will bring sufficient reinforcements.
helldivers is my fave mp game in YEARS. its completely unique, but it captures a lot of the cinematic chaos that made the best of the battlefield games so entertaining
Remnant 2 was my GoTY 2023 and now this...fantastic games and awesome times for PvE players like me 😀
It's too bad more people didn't know about the first Helldivers. It was just as fun back in the day, hell it's still fun.
You are 100% correct. AAA games are all about engagement and ROI, not fun or entertainment. Bummed that HD2 wasn't released on Xbox.
Sony owns it, and you know how they are about their exclusives. But the game is also huge now and sold 3 million copies in like a week so you might have some luck honestly
I am also a bummed xbox player
all you do is shoot spiders .... truly INCREDIBLE
Looks very fun. That ICBM launch and the last few minutes were pretty awesome and intense. For a second, I thought you might not make the extraction.
the perspective shift from 3D isometric to third person over the shoulder reminds me of when risk of rain switched from 2D side-scroller to third person for ROR2. And it was such an amazing change. I genuinely can't wait to buy this game but I'm holding off until next paycheck and I'm still playing Monster Hunter world right now so...
The world looks a bit “empty”, definitely is “a game”
Palworld is the game of the decade!

A few problems, here and there, but overall, amazing game. Btw, anyone that got into Helldivers 2 should give Deep Rock Galactic (DRG) a try. Very similar stuff, if you liked Helldivers 2, you probably will like DRG.

What you do Jack is, gather the shells first then activate the terminal. Fewer bugs attacking you. They hear the gun activating.
I really enjoyed this upload. Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
Jack just ignoring the gold beacons in the beginning made me sad. Lol.
Also, when carrying the artillery rounds, you can spam the pick up button to move faster.
Such a special game, hope to see more!
So many little things with this game make it a complete package; next time you’re playing spend the round just listening to the audio and the musics queues, how it slows down, ramps up with the action, and almost ‘murmurs’ to cause suspense. I love it!
the game is very boring imo, if i wanna listen to music then guess what i listen to music
Jack, you probably wont read this, but the social aspect is something that's very common in VR games. voice chat, elaborate custom experiences and the likes are probably my favorite reasons to dust off my index every once in a while. i recommend looking into it, even if just for a bit.
Well played my friend I'll be purchasing this game for sure.
Amazing Starship Troopers game! this is the first game I feel the need to buy a PS5 to play with.
the reason its so fun is cause we need more PvE games, PvP is just always so sweaty
