I love how much John supports your crafting and builds/fixes your wheels and adds storage to really help you prosper! He truly wants you to be happy and have what you need to be happy. When my husband helped me fix my first (secondhand) wheel when it was having issues it made me feel so loved, because it really showed that he supports my crafting.
I can’t even wait to finish. I am dying over Elvis and his adorable face. Listening to you like he plans to pick out a wheel and take up spinning 🤣🤣🤣 He is beyond cute
Very glad you watch this video and show my spouse so he can see that my 6 wheels aren't so bad lol. (But he pointed out that I don't have electric wheels which seem to take up less space lol) Looking forward to you Q&A!
Elvis is a sweetheart. So I think that the wooden one looks like a Venus, because it's beautiful. The last one, the small one Cupid or Eros, cause you can fall in love with it. And the other one is a Poseidon, for heavy duty...😊
I dove further into the world of spinning yarn because of your great review video on the EW 6.0. I was new to spinning using a top whorl spindle for a bit and jumped into the next level of tools. I got an EW 6.0 because of your awesome honest review. I can't thank you enough for your fantastic videos on fiber, blending, spinning, tools and techniques. I am learning so very much and appreciate all the work you put into your videos. You are my kinda teacher/person. Thank you so very much for you being you! Elvis is just the sweetest and an amazing pup that can read his guardian's needs. Hugs, love and prayers sent
I agree that each spinning wheel has her own character and I name mine too. I have Kylie, kiwi and Peggy. I named my electric dreaming robots wheel Kylie because of Kylie Minogue's song. "Spinning around". Thanks for sharing
Thank you! And, oh my gosh, the first thing that always comes into my head when someone talks about "gossip" is a character from the old Bewitched tv show Gladys Kravitz. And yes, this definitely dates me!!🤣 But no, not necessarily a suggestion. I'm just stuck in the house right now, and need every laugh I can get!
I purchased the EEW 6 because of your review, I was wanting to try to spin but had no desire to try a drop or supported spindle. LOVE IT I enjoyed it so much that I ventured out and purchased an Ashford Joy 2. AND down the fiber rabbit hole I went! Love your videos, keep up the good work, you are a highlight of my day everytime I watch a video.
I vote Iris for the Sparrow. I have a (used/same) Starling called Luna. Treated myself to an Aura for a “round number” bd, and I’m looking at getting a nano for giggles. It’s nice your partner thinks they’re art (they are). Functional art for better living ❤
Hi Trish, you are so lucky with all your wheels. I only have my Hansen which I love to bits. What I have been doing is drop spindling my singles and plying on my Hansen. Thanks for sharing all you beautiful wheels
I love the tour! I named my EEW6 Rachel, after the android from Blade Runner. Maybe another sci-fi or robot name? Eve from Wall-E? Rosie from the Jetsons? Dot from Spaceballs?😂
I love seeing the wheels I have a babe that my sister electrified as I have fibromyalgia and a matchless both came from her I love watching your videos
Really enjoyed this video to meet your wheels. I received a Minstrel for Christmas from my wonderful MIL after only drop spinning. It's a beautiful wheel and spins like a dream, even though I have barely a clue of what I'm doing. 😂
I love my Eew 6. I have been part of the Kickstarter for both the original nano and the 6! Maurice is great! Thank you for the backpack suggestion. I’ve tried a couple of different carrying bags but that one looks perfect.
Loved seeing all your "friends". I have 3 Ashfords- The traditional, the Joy with a regular and a jumbo flyer and the really large electric wheel which holds 2lbs. of plied fiber. I use them all as you said for different purposes. I have a tiny nano from electric robots but I almost never use it. It's so good to see Elvis loving his new mama and home. My daughter is a foster parent and has 2 dogs of her own. It is always special to see the foster begin to trust people again. You are a blessing to so many. Take care.
So many wheels! They are all lovely. I'm slowly working on my hoard too. So far I've got a schacht sidekick, an eel wheel 6, a great walking wheel, and assorted Turkish and support spindles.
The prior video you did about your wheels was the very first video I watched of FLD. It was helpful for me when I was trying to select the first wheel I was going to purchase. I've been hooked on your videos ever since. I've learned so much from you Trish. Thank you for helping me and so many other people more than you'll ever know. ❤
Beautiful wheels! I have some catching up to do, haha. My nano 1 is Arachne, my eew 6 is Beatrice (my grandmother's name) and my Minstrel is Charlotte. If (when) I get a 4th wheel it will probably start with a "D". I can see the history oozing out of the gossip wheel and it makes me want to touch a wheel that has been spun on for decades to see if any inspiration transfers. The Daedalus deserves a cool name like Joan Jett especially if it's fast and you think it's a rockstar. Maybe i will go that route if I ever name my spindles. Hugs for the doggo situation!
I can’t wait to get my house. Definitely going to make sure I have my own space for everything fiber! I ordered my 1st ever spinning wheel it’ll be here any day now. I got the Ashford traveller 3. I had no clue it was a newer wheel. Since buying I couldn’t find any videos on the current model.
They all looks awesome! I feel the same about my schacht matchless and the 3d printed bobbins I bought, they just wiggle a bit and make more nose that I don’t love. What about Electra for the EEW6?
So cool to see all your wheels! For your EW 6, which you said was more modern, could be a Millie for the Movie Throughly Modern Millie. I don’t know why but your gossip wheel looks like a Maggie to me.
Oh my heart! I love Elvis and I'm so glad you have him!!!! ❤❤❤ I always enjoy seeing your flock of wheels, I've watched your OG wheel video multiple times. I'm hoping to grow mine into a flock this year🤞(I only have 2 right now and I don't think that's enough to be called a flock😂)
My suggestion for the gossip wheel is Cathy, because you can be chatty while spinning with a friend. Or maybe name her after the miller's daughter/ queen from the Rumplelstiltskin fairytale, since she is designed to spin flax, which would be the "straw" in that story. A quich google didn't come up with her name, so maybe an old-fashioned German name like ??? (Ethel was my German grandma.) I may have my husband watch the part about the electric wheel John made. I was given A sewing machine in a table. There is a lot of rust on the machine. If the motor is in better shape, perhaps she will be wheel #3 in my herd.
I enjoy watching you talk about your wheels! I would like a Daedalus eventually maybe but currently have the EEL 6.0 and use that quite often. Amazing how much more I can spin in a given time than I can do with the treadle wheels.
I have a question, have you dabbled much with drop spindles and what are your thoughts on them for beginners? I tried a drop spindle first like a lot of people, but struggled with it, almost gave up the idea of learning to spin. Fast forward a few months and I bought my first wheel around September/October last year. I got the Ashford Traveller 3. For me, I found it was the one that was affordable (but not the cheapest), easy to get, and had features that I could grow into and experiment with as I developed this new skill, but simple enough to use for a beginner and I've been loving it. Learned a lot and come a long way in a few months. I feel like some creators push a narrative (whether intentional or not) that beginners should start with a drop spindle. I feel like if I didn't go through with getting a spinning wheel I would've dropped this hobby. I also want to say I love that you show the different options for the different equipment that people may have access to and don't say one's better than the other (thinking mostly of your blending videos). And when you give an opinion it's to say what you prefer and how you like to do something, and usually give examples on alternatives.
Hi Sarah! I started with a wheel and got a spindle later. I truly didn't begin to like spindle spinning until the last year. I have talked about this before a few times. I think a lot of people push the drop spindle because the barriers to entry are just so much lower because of cost and space, etc., but I don't think it's the best route for a lot of us. There are different options for everything partly because we're all different. What's best for one person isn't best for everyone. Being completely honest, I also believe there are a whole lot of people currently giving advice and presenting themselves as experts without enough experience. It's so hard to know from social media, so I've learned that if I'm going to get advice and recommendations to question their experience first. There's room for everyone, but not enough transparency about experience level.
I have three spinning wheels. Each does something different. A kronski, ashford traditional and my latest is a ashford joy. I take my joy on holidays as it fold and goes into a rucksack.
I'm still debating on which wheel I want to buy. I've committed to finishing up my many WIPs to make space for a wheel in my craft closet. It's been good motivation 😁
Oh dear Lord, I sat down to watch and my pup Morty grabbed a foot long piece of fiber and started eating it! Had to jump up and chase him to get it back!!!
Elvis looks like such a love bug! Oh my!!! Have you tried a Lendrum? I really want you to. I wonder why you don't have a saxony wheel? Because you said you liked double drive, as do I. I don't want to enable you but.... :) Thanks for showing us all of your wheels, very intersting. I have "only 3" and feel the need to add an electic one in the future!
I don’t name mine, I have a Matchless, one that is most likely from the early 70’s and an old one that was recently given to me that I need to find it a home. But I would love to get an Hansen electric spinner. Someday.
BTW, I have 5 wheels. One is a Betty Roberts wheel which I bought because it's beautiful and she's not making wheels anymore. It's a single treadle so it feels kinda awkward for me. It also had a very firm treadle that pivots in the middle not at the heel. I also have a Lendrum Original, Saxony and Espinner, and a Matchless. I feel like there may be a Minstrel in my future. And maybe a EEW. I may have a problem...
I'm starting to think I want another wheel. It's going to have to be a good deal, though. And a drum carder. I have a blending board, but I miss my drum carder
I recently read that using different battery packs can be risky for Daedalus motors unless you have a cable that's specifically a 15V limiter. Otherwise I think the batteries can overpower the motor? I'm not sure; just thought it might be worth mentioning since that's a serious powerhouse of a battery. (Going to get one for my car, so thanks!)
Since I'm using the power supply it came with a a normal plug in cord, it should regulate the power going into the motor on its own just like it would with a wall plug, but you definitely can't just use a different voltage input on those motors.
Question for your Q&A video : I am a new drop spindle spinner and struggle with getting loft into my yarns. Some are very ropey which I understand may be overtwisting. But how do I get air trapped in the fibers to make the yarn more fluffy and less dense? I just finished a new beanie which is great but very weighty rather than fluffy and weighs more than it probably should. Guess I will use it during very cold snaps.
What a FUN video. I was glued watching and seeing your wheels. Question. How does the Sparrow compare to the EEW 6. I have the 6 but have interest in the sparrow.

Who hooo I only have 6, that means I can still get more right???😂😂😂❤❤❤ BTW, two of mine are not in usable condition and we are going to fix them...that was nearly 4 years ago😢
My first wheel was an Ashford Traveller and I use her almost every day. My daughter and I have Ashford Traditionals and I also have a vintage Electric wheel. My traveller is a little noisy sometimes which doesn't bother me but I feel awkward in public when she croaks and moans.
A person who has a garage full of tools is not called a tool "hoarder". They are called handy, and talented at fixing & making things.
This is so lovely 🥰
I love how much John supports your crafting and builds/fixes your wheels and adds storage to really help you prosper! He truly wants you to be happy and have what you need to be happy. When my husband helped me fix my first (secondhand) wheel when it was having issues it made me feel so loved, because it really showed that he supports my crafting.
I think Helga would be perfect for your gossip wheel
Elvis face..... those sweet puppy eyes ❤❤❤❤ He looked like he was taking it all in 🥰
Awww Elvis, being so patient watching you talk to nobody ❤❤
I can’t even wait to finish. I am dying over Elvis and his adorable face. Listening to you like he plans to pick out a wheel and take up spinning 🤣🤣🤣 He is beyond cute
Love seeing all your wheels!
That electric wheel is pretty awesome! I love the repurposing!
I have some bobbins that make more noise than others, and I take a little circle of felt and stab it onto the shaft of the flyer. It helps!
I love all your beautiful wheels, never such a thing as too many if they all have their uses! Elvis is adorable 😊
I love that you have a personal cubby for your first wheel!
Judy here! I love seeing all your wheels and Elvis was a bonus! He seems so sweet. Looking forward to the batt making
I dove further into the world of spinning yarn because of your great review video on the EW 6.0. I was new to spinning using a top whorl spindle for a bit and jumped into the next level of tools. Loved this video and Elvis! I have a Sparrow named Captain Jack! I love your purple one.
I agree that each spinning wheel has her own character and I name mine too. I have Kylie, kiwi and Peggy. I named my electric dreaming robots wheel Kylie because of Kylie Minogue's song. "Spinning around". Thanks for sharing
I love my Daedalus wheels, so glad you are enjoying yours.

And yes, this definitely dates me!!🤣 But no, not necessarily a suggestion. I'm just stuck in the house right now, and need every laugh I can get!
I’m obsessed with wheels, but I’ve held back. I love how you have a lit storage for them.
That display for your wheels is beautiful. Kudos to John.
Thanks for the tour Trish. It was fun!
I loved seeing all your beautiful wheels. Than you for sharing.
Love my Halo. Last hurricane I was able to run my little battery TV with it. 😊
The old one I think should be named Ruth. That’s an old lady’s name. Beautiful, but oldie, like your wheel!😊❤
So many different kinds of wheels, and so nice to have one for a specific situation. Also hi puppy!
Lovely spinning wheels. I like the fleece or batts that you are spinning over time, the purples and the candy cane. Very pretty 🙂
For your Gossip wheel name how about an ancestral grandmother's name from the area she was made in.
Hi, Elvis! Glad he has figured out his place in the tribe so quickly.
Loved seeing all your wheels! Makes me feel better about only having four 😂
Your first video of your wheels is how I found you!!
Love my Daedalus Starling! I use it more than my Lendrum. Love seeing all of your wheels!
I vote Iris for the Sparrow. I have a (used/same) Starling called Luna. Treated myself to an Aura for a “round number” bd, and I’m looking at getting a nano for giggles. It’s nice your partner thinks they’re art (they are). Functional art for better living ❤
Sheila is ingenious!
Hi Trish, you are so lucky with all your wheels. I only have my Hansen which I love to bits. What I have been doing is drop spindling my singles and plying on my Hansen. Thanks for sharing all you beautiful wheels
I agree with Veronica! I just wish my husband saw it the same way 😂
I have a nano eew wheel and love it ❤
I love the tour! I named my EEW6 Rachel, after the android from Blade Runner. Maybe another sci-fi or robot name? Eve from Wall-E? Rosie from the Jetsons? Dot from Spaceballs?😂
I can see me collecting looms , I have sort of started with my ridgid heddle and my Inkle. Now thinking of getting a 4or 8 shaft 😉
I love seeing the wheels I have a babe that my sister electrified as I have fibromyalgia and a matchless both came from her I love watching your videos
elvis is adorbs
Thank you for sharing your spinning wheels. I only have the eew 6.0 and love it.
I love Elvis so much!
Really enjoyed this video to meet your wheels. I received a Minstrel for Christmas from my wonderful MIL after only drop spinning. It's a beautiful wheel and spins like a dream, even though I have barely a clue of what I'm doing. 😂
i love the sparrow...
And I thought I was a wheel hoarder with my 5 wheels. 😂 I bow to the master.
I love my Eew 6. I have been part of the Kickstarter for both the original nano and the 6! Maurice is great!
Thank you for the backpack suggestion. I’ve tried a couple of different carrying bags but that one looks perfect.
Thank you so much for sharing all your family with us! It was so interesting. You are so inspiring!
Loved seeing all your "friends". I have 3 Ashfords- The traditional, the Joy with a regular and a jumbo flyer and the really large electric wheel which holds 2lbs. of plied fiber. the gossip wheel sounds like fun! i think megan would be a great name for it
I love how you reluctantly said the number is new 🤣. You can never have too much of a good thing.
So many wheels! They are all lovely.
I'm slowly working on my hoard too. So far I've got a schacht sidekick, an eel wheel 6, a great walking wheel, and assorted Turkish and support spindles.
I think the matchless single treadle is beautiful! I have one. It is the first wheel I bought. I love it.
Love your channel, and yout doggies. Names for the last few wheels could be lydia, Ophelia, and Dagmar. 😊 Take care :o)

I love my matchless too!
That wheel is a “Thoroughly Modern Milly” 😂
This is what I came here to comment 🤣
I can’t wait to get my house. Definitely going to make sure I have my own space for everything fiber! I ordered my 1st ever spinning wheel it’ll be here any day now. I got the Ashford traveller 3. I had no clue it was a newer wheel. Since buying I couldn’t find any videos on the current model.

I love all of your wheels!
How about the name “Birdie” for the sparrow.
I have the Nano 2.0 and a 1975 Ashford fractional single drive, but am getting the new 6.1 as soon as it becomes available.
Her name was Lola! She was a show girl!
What an informative video. I only have one wheel but can totally see why you have several!
Get some rubber o rings to put on the flyer/bobbin shaft so the bobbins don't chatter.
Amazing collection!!
I love toys! Thank you for showing yours.
So many awesome wheels. Thanks for introducing them to us.
so glad to know you are an affiliate!! i will order my nano6.1 through you... i can't even wait
Elvis so cool! Loved seeing all your wheels. How about Beldonna or Zerelda for a name?
I suggest the dual flyer wheel Anastasia, for the Sparrow, Peeto-not sure how to spell it, but my mil often named the smallest kitten thst
I forgot about the sewing machine motor one and didn't know you had the Daedalus for some reason.
Elvis looks like such a love bug! Oh my!!!
Have you tried a Lendrum? I really want you to. Its such a a smooth wheel and very quiet. the Original is scotch tension only but he Saxony can be set up double drive. They are both very fine wheels. Gord Lendrum is retiring and will not be making any more wheels, only accessories. I think you would like either one!
Love your video!
Can you show how to chain ply in a way that is really easy to understand? (In your q/a)… chain ply for dummies!
Have you seen the video I already did? It's slowed down and everything
I'm starting to think I want another wheel. It's going to have to be a good deal, though.
And a drum carder. I have a blending board, but I miss my drum carder
I think you need a Lendrum and a Majacraft. I heard recently that Gord Lendrum will be retiring in a couple years and not making wheels anymore.
I have 6 wheels ,have you tried making felt washers to stop the claking
Question for your Q&A video : I am a new drop spindle spinner and struggle with getting loft into my yarns. Some are very ropey which I understand may be overtwisting. But how do I get air trapped in the fibers to make the yarn more fluffy and less dense? I just finished a new beanie which is great but very weighty rather than fluffy and weighs more than it probably should. Guess I will use it during very cold snaps.
What about Evalynn for the eel wheel?
What a FUN video. I was glued watching and seeing your wheels.
Question. How does the Sparrow compare to the EEW 6. I have the 6 but have interest in the sparrow.
I have both the 6.0 and the sparrow. I love them both. I love the controller of the sparrow. I spin singles on the sparrow and ply on the 6.0 since it has larger bobbins. I really would like a starling because of the bobbin size being 12 ozs. But I really like them both.
@@stephanieking1645 thank you for your input. I appreciate it very much 💕
how does the Sparrow compare to the EEW 6? thank you!
The EEW should be Millie cuz she’s thoroughly modern 😜
How about naming one of the electric wheels Electra?
Who hooo I only have 6, that means I can still get more right???😂😂😂❤❤❤ BTW, two of mine are not in usable condition and we are going to fix them...that was nearly 4 years ago😢
Jack Sparrow, of course
The Daedalus wee wheel should totally be named Circe. If you haven't read that book yet, once you do, you'll understand...
My first wheel was an Ashford Traveller and I use her almost every day. My daughter and I have Ashford Traditionals and I also have a vintage Electric wheel. My traveller is a little noisy sometimes which doesn't bother me but I feel awkward in public when she croaks and moans.
