Good to see you uploading a follow-up for this project! Thanks to all your donors for the good hardware. Good floppy drives of any type are hard to come by.
Well, there are plenty of options today. From original Hardware to software emulation, and all sorts of modern hardware implementations. Personally I am waiting impatiently for the release of the A500 Maxi, at 5he beginning of next year.
Using the disk activity LED module for the power would definitley give the yellow colour as from what I recall of my 500+, the power LED on that, being a later 500 revision, was green and the disk LED was yellow, something they also went with on the 600 and 1200 (with Red used for HDD)... :)
Shouldn't the locking washer be on the outside of the plastic stand on the floppy drive? I'm a registered user of X-COPY. I even have the dongle laying around somewhere 😊
I wonder if the stand-offs exist on the A1200 replacement case and will also interfere with its bottom shield. I believe I only have to review another past Jan Beta video to get the answer on that. :)
This is no 'classic' Amiga 500. They need: - Square brown C= logo - red power LED and green drive LED - power LED has to be off when filter disabled - loud floppy drive - external A1010 drive - old mouse with 'Knackfrosch' switches I have a system like this. The mouse was in terrible condition. But I completely cleaned it. I improved the metal plate switches by lifting the switch board 'BREMEN' a bit. It works great now. The first 1351 for the C64 also have this board. For more compatibility, I used a Rev. 6a board. To disable the dimmed LED, cut R507. Then the LED is off when the filter is disabled. Now I have an A500 like I saw it the first time in 1989. As a C64 owner, seeing the 'Blood Money' intro was a true chin-to-the-floor experience ;-)
You are my favorite retro creator, Jan. Thank you, and keep it up!

Very nice ! NEW amiga content 🤩
I always wanted an Amiga computer as a kid. The Amiga had color graphics and great sound. Instead I got a 286 w/hercules graphics card. 😭

Great video as always; glad the drive worked out.
Jan adoro il tuo A500,case spettacolare!
Amiga owner grabs a random floppy - X Copy lol. Also i would have removed the PCB from the KB tray to straighten it just in case.

Nice job as always.

I really wish they also made these cases for the small A500 square badge and not the oblong one
Nice to get closure with some Turrican :-)
looking great!

7:55 You could also file down/cut off the plastic standoffs if you only use this case for an A500 motherboard? I guess?
Awesome 🤩
can you take metal shield off Keyboard and add 2 aluminium metal bars to support / straighten keyboard
👍🏻
Have you played “Alien Breed” without at least one meg?
Brutal! And I don’t mean it’s a hard game
😂🤣(clue)
😁👍
