I read thier blog post and apparently they are sunsetting it because the owner of FreeSO was tired of maintaining it and wanted to move on. The community dying slightly only cemented thier feelings on it.

I just heard of an alternative to FreeSO that exists. But it doesnt have te 3D engine that the FreeSO dev created.

Shame about FreeSO. Hopefully someone else can continue the legacy under a different name.
