Fun random fact: when my older sister was a kid she downloaded sims 2 and since she didn’t know a lot English her computer was in Russian (our first language) and the Sims 2 got automatically translated and one time she saw a townie that for some reason was named «переодеть» (to change clothes) now my sister is in her 20s she’s still shocked

Awesome video! I've had random sims with blank want slots for a while now. I had seen in forums people trying explain this with "the game just doesn't have wants for them right now" or claiming it as a sign of corruption. With this video, I realized quite a few of my Sims who have this problem are former NPCs (all 'safe' kinds: bartenders, gardeners, mail carriers, etc.). Replacing the Original GUID for them fixed this issue right away! Now if I can just figure out why it's happening to my PlantSims/"cured" PlantSims... It's also nice to have a fix for those former cheerleaders wearing llama costumes and random former NPCs going into houses uninvited. Bravo!

But for the magical growths (crystals, the beanstalk etc.), you actually need to cast spells at other Sims, not just the charms you craft.

Its no wonder the Sims 2 had so many creppypastas and controversial content made about it 😂

Is it safe to resurrect premade sims from Pleasantview (with or without clean templates)? For example, parents of Don Lothario.

Sim Creation Index getting reset could be an issue with multi threading causing word tearing; like one thread reads it as another writes it or whatever,

Why am I not surprised that the misinformation about those NPCs corrupting the game was spread by the users of the More Awesome Than You site? Pescado and most of the users on that forum are a bunch of stuck-up dickheads that think they know everything and get angry if you dare tell them they're not right 🙄 While looking for information on how to set up Awesome Mod, I literally read them verbally abuse people who where asking for help and telling them to keep searching to solve their issue instead of helping (There were NO threads in the forum explaining how to solve their specific issue)

Now I want these types of technicaly deep dives for other sims gams (mainly sims 3) just becouse I'm curious how it handles stuff and if it works similarly to sims 2 or is completly diffrent.

I wish there was still a legal way to get this game (other then the disca which don't work on modern windows becouse of the DRM they have)

it is worth mentioning that SimAntics (what this video is about) was introduced in The Sims 1, expanded upon with The Sims Online, and expanded heavily upon for The Sims 2. Lots of the topics covered in this video can be seen in TS1 as well :)

i'm not even a sims fan, and i've never played the sims 2, but i watched your corruption deep dive and video on the squiggly lines a while back. i just rewatched the latter, and now i'm watching more of your videos! they're very interesting to me, even though i barely know anything about ts2!!! :] keep up the good work! and this was actually pretty easy for me to understand despite my lack of coding knowledge, so don't worry about it!!

I just heard of an alternative to FreeSO that exists. But it doesnt have te 3D engine that the FreeSO dev created.

Shame about FreeSO. Hopefully someone else can continue the legacy under a different name.

EDIT: OMG. Of course they can't 😭 I needed to watch it all again. Im stupid. Now i need to kill this baby and link this sim Do you know if genetics of a sim from Default bin, like Bella would be able to concieve normal children? I have a custom neighbourhood where the author used this method to make sims "disapear" like Bella. I wanted to use one sim from there to make a baby but i think i might have created a male clone of the mother.... This sim does have all the data that are needed so it shouldn't be a problem. But now i have a baby that looked the same every time i tried to roll the pacifier. Also i fk saved accidentally 😭

As someone who grew up halfway across the world but pretty much had the same musical taste trajectory, yes, the Avril Lavigne to metal pipeline is extremely real. Honestly, I am kind of shaken that you put such a perfect name to what happened to my taste in music in my early teens. (For me, the path went Avril Lavigne -> Evanescence -> Within Temptation -> Nightwish -> The entire genre of Power Metal in general.)

And thank you for the “Scary Technical Details” section 😂 I know Streakers aren’t problematic NPCs but my sim just married one and I didn’t realise until she kept walking around the house starkers 😂 I knew I could fix it but couldn’t remember how and I was *sure* one of your videos had the answer 🎉

I added a Social Bunny to a family a long time ago and it got stuck on the family photo. When loading the family, it would be by the mailbox for a split second then leave 🤣

Bella the toilet clogger. It happens in my game too haha

I had a bug where my game would say it saved, but it actually had not saved, nof properly anyway. No idea what caused it. Cassandra Goth had a child, and got a dog and cat in the span of time I played where it didn’t save correctly. The game got buggy, Cassandra got a baby bump when not pregnant, and the dogs aging left him with a floating puppy body instead of an adult dog body. When I booted up later, the chid, cat, and dog were not there, the game was reverted to a previous save. No memories or relationships were there. BUT, they WERE there in the picture when loading the lot, and they existed in SimPE. Cassandra went on to have more children and more pets, and nothing bad seemed to happen. But it was weird!

So... if I deleted Olive Specter's whole lot to replace it with a rebuilt version, and forgot to move the gravestones....

Thanks for the stream! Maybe one day you can play FreeSO? It is a reimplementation of The Sims Online's game engine, using C# and Monogame, an unofficial community run project. That would be nice to see someone playing this.
