I agree 100%, the nWo Elite stuff was the faction’s point of no return. The Wolfpac/Hollywood split was exactly what the nWo needed to breathe new life into it, but instead we got a year of mediocre booking, an insane few months with Ultimate Warrior, and the world’s worst “LOL, PSYCHE!” swerve ending.

The NWO at most should have been seven members. Hogan, Hall, Nash, then Savage as the 4th member helping Hogan win the title. NWO not attacking the Giant for multiple weeks, then he joins them makes more sense, than what he did out of the blue after Hog Wild. Syxx Pack and Ted DiBiase as the manager.

I started watching Smackdown around the time nWo came there and was immediately a fan. We did not have WWF or WCW showing in Finland in the 90's, so when they referenced the history of nWo in the storylines, it subsequently became part of the nWo "mythology" in our schoolyard discussions. The nWo went the way of the dodo not soon after, but i'm glad i at least saw the end of it. Also glad i was part of the second coming of Hulkamania when Hogan started wearing red and yellow again.

Though it got tiring real quick for me. Been watching wrestling a long time when it was actually good, and I understand the upset rule that fans absolutely dispise today but it got a little overboard with the NWO pretty much running the show, interfering in main events EVERYTIME and the whole thing was spiraling out of control before they even knew it.

Ive been watching Reliving The War since episode 10. I don’t like or watch modern wrestling (not hating just saying) but I haven’t missed a vid/post from you since. Long story short, you’re the man and you created a great series (including the PPV reviews). You’ve definitely gotten a lot better since you started the series!!! Keep up the good work brother!

NASCAR driver Kyle Petty raced the #49 NWO car in late 1996 and 1997 sporadically for (Dan) Shaver Motorsports. In such a small team, however, Petty had little success outside of a 4th place at Talladega Superspeedway in '97.

My favorite wrestling stable was the nWo Wolfpac. Sting pretended to join nWo Hollywood and then swerved them by attacking Hogan and The Giant. It's one of my favorite wrestling moments of all time.

I know you probably don't follow NJPW too much but there for a while after Muta joined the group, Keiji Muto still wouldn't join the group for a few months which created a pretty interesting dynamic where Muto was NJPW but Muta was nWo.

Very thorough/accurate video, great job. I get leaving out Kyle Petty since he didn't do anything of note storyline-wise. The one thing that everyone seems to overlook though is that Mark 'Slick' Johnson was a member of the original NWO, not just NWO 2000. He debuted at World War 3 '98 as Scott Steiner's personal referee, and stayed with he and Buff continuously until 1/11/99, as best I can tell, since he was injured. I don't think he ever had a name in that span, but was a Bill Alfonso ripoff, always blowing a whistle.
Also Nick Patrick cemented his overt heel turn at Starrcade '96 in the Giant/Luger match, and donned the NWO shirt for the first time the following Nitro.

The nWo jumped the shark at the first Souled Out ppv in 1997. Sting carried WCW in 1997 despite only working two matches that year. After they cooled Sting off, Goldberg carried the company through 1998...until he also got cooled off. It's no coincidence that WCW began its rapid decline soon thereafter.
