Vietnamese is always like that. I never ate Chinese food again. You get quality food and a lot of it. And it's delicious!!! Fish sauce changed my life.
The Vietnamese iced coffee has sweetened condensed milk and the coffee from Vietnam is robust and delicious and very special (and very strong! 👀) A couple of tips: Pour the fish sauce dressing on the noodles/whole shabang You can make your own fish sauce dressing for all kinds of things with fish sauce, sugar, water and lime or vinegar or both (add garlic and chilis in a single serving for more flavors) Anything you get from a Vietnamese restaurant is going to be delicious!!!!! That looked so good!
So that noodle soup is called “Bun Bo Hue”, and is actually not a type of pho. Pho uses rice noodles and this dish uses vermeceli noodles. Bun is the name of the vermeceli noodle used, Bo is the word for beef and Hue is the city in Vietnam where it originates from. Glad that you enjoyed it :)
Vnese here, and the last noodle soup you had is called “Bún bò Huế” (Bún is one kind of rice noodle, Bò is beef, Huế is the original province in Việt Nam that invented this dish, and it’s also a very lovely place to visit). To me it’s one of the best noodle soup in Vietnam (I personally like it even more than Phở) and the noodle (which is called Bún) is not the same as the noodle in Phở. You pronounced the name really good btw, wish you had more delicious Việt Nam dishes.
Hey girlie! Just wanted to let you know, the sauce with the Bun Bo Xoa is fish sauce and usually when you eat it, you just pour the fish sauce over everything and mix it up! That way you get the delicious sauce in every bite. Also you wouldn’t really consider Bun Bo Hue (the noodle soup you had) a spicy pho, the soup, the noodles, and the cut of meat is usually different than pho. I still really enjoyed your food review and I’m glad you enjoyed the food!
Pretty decent pronunciation of bun bo! Bun is just our word for vermicelli noodles. Pho is rice stick noodles, banh canh is similar to udon, and mi is usually egg noodles/ramen. Lots of Vietnamese noodle soups out there to try besides pho. And you’re doing it justice with that big bowl and lots of herbs 😂❤
I don't consider bun bo hue to be a pho but a bun which is the noodles and bo is beef. Either way I love that you got to enjoy a great dish from my culture
I’m Vietnamese and absolutely love your videos. The coffee has condensed milk. Next time try salt coffee (coffee, whipping cream, salt). And the last dish you ate wasn’t Pho. It was beef noodles (Bun Bo Hue) 😊. You should try Banh Mi next time.
The coffee is very strong concentrated coffee with sweetened condense milk. The coffee is made with a special coffee strainer where the coffee is slowly dripping. I think you would really like tge soup bun rieu.
In my experience, the “sketchy parts of town” are always home to the BEST food lol. Love supporting local mom-and-pop restaurants, too. This looks amazing! I’d love to try their stuff if I’m ever in your area
Shhhhhhddddd 😂 Not my sleep deprived a$$ watching you drive through this neighborhood, thinking that place looks familiar. And you walking up that ramp, thinking 🤔 I got a Phö place I go to looks just like that one. Only to realize you’re AT the same place I go to 🤦🏾♀️. Great food! Haven’t been in years. I’m feeling a ride this weekend 🍜
if you ever go to cali, PLEASE go to little saigon!!! so manyyy delicious, authentic viet dishes down to desserts and drinks and so many options!!! houston texas also has amazing viet food!!! two of the top spots for viet food in the US truly, nothing compares to it 😊😋
Girl, I was just waiting for you to blob some of that pho on your beautiful Robin's egg blue sweatshirt, but you rocked it like a champ! Not a spot! First time I went to a Vietnamese restaurant and had pho I asked for a lobster bib and by the time I was done, I had pho broth built up in the pocket at the bottom of the bib, lol! Love Vietnamese food and the people are awesome too!🍲🥟🥢
Ash, that cup of liquid in the side of the bun dish is nuoc cham- basically fish sauce and sugar. You’ve got to try pouring it over the dish before you eat it next time, but they gave you such a big portion of sauce so maybe use a quarter to half that amount.
Now I have a huge craving for pho! Especially on a cold winter day. I live in a small town which is not duverse and what I really miss about living in a bigger city is all the delicious authentic ethnic cuisines.
Whenever I get Pho, which is quite often, I get it extra spicy, with with a combination of meat so I get tendons, meatballs, beef, chicken, etc. I love Pho. Also, just like you, I love summer rolls and the peanut sauce. 🤤 I'm sure they have it, but if you haven't tried it then I strongly recommend you try papaya salad. It usually comes served with rice as a side and it can be spicy, but man is it delicious.
I’ve literally taken the Thai basil from a Vietnamese restaurant before and rooted it in water to grow my own indoors during winter (without going from seed) might be fun to experiment with!
I’ll have to find a Pho place here in the Detroit area but I’ll have to go by myself. My husband is a Viet Nam vet and won’t eat any Vietnamese food. We have a Japanese/ Chinese buffet that we go to and that is how I get my sushi fix. 😉🐈⬛🐈💖🌈
Yes. Completely different. Only thing they have in common really is rice noodles and beef. But BBH is pork too with lemongrass and pho is those nice spices like star anise and more “clean” and BBH is BOLD!
I love pho. It has become one of my favorite meals, and I get it at least once a month. I trade out my rice noodles for egg noodles, and I chow down, lol. This looked delicious!! 💜
I was thinking about Seafood Pho and spring rolls myself and spicy papaya when I get off work now im really gonna treat myself lol thank you for sharing ☺️
Love your videos! Just realized where your located and can't wait to get down there and try some of these places!!! 4 generations of my family has always gone to Rudy's Hotdogs, looking forward to more options!
That looks so good!!! I’ve never had pho before but now I really need to try some. Need to research for authenticity. I live in California so hopefully I’ll find it somewhere 😊
I prefer to mix everything up in the salad, because there is so much going on there. Then I put hoisin, some chili sauce, and the Nuac Cham (the sauce you're dunking the noodles in) all over it, and mix to combine. It's definitely all about the components being tasted together, not individually.
You made me crave it!!!!! I'm jealous now 😭... I used to live in SoCal and there were Phô spots that were wonderful, but now I live in the country and it's less diverse so I can't find any spots near me 😭😭😭😭.... I'm happy for you though, LoL.... I know that happy dance at the end meant it was wonderful 😂
It's a magic trick, amazing feat that you can mix and eat all that slurpy, sloppy food & soup without getting it all spilled on your shirt, seat, and car 😮
Love your reviews ❤️ I had this flashback from Open Season - drinking a latte - ☕ "Ohhhhh... oOOOoo...Ohhh... it's terrible, and wonderful at the same time, it's like freedom in a cup" 😂☕
Ugh, I’m so jealous! I live in Wv (where, hello, there’s literally nothing truly ethnic to eat, imagine that 🙄😏) & of course there are “amateur “ Pho places, but nothing like I’m seeing you eat right now!! My mouth was watering lol. That looks delicious!! I shall live vicariously through you & your videos 😂✌️ Keep it up! Love your content!!
I love Vietnamese food. It's probably my favorite of thd whole Asian genre. Unfortunately Panda Express is thd closest thing I havd in the town where I live 😢
I love pho! There's a chaun called Pho in the UK, which I regularly go to - not sure how authentic it is though (not exactly spoilt for choice, so it's better than nothing).
For something so fresh and that much food 15 is a steal.
Vietnamese is always like that. I never ate Chinese food again. You get quality food and a lot of it. And it's delicious!!!
Fish sauce changed my life.
And it comes with dumplings?? So worth it.
to an american 😅 in vietnam, 15 can get u a couple bowls

Bun Bo hue is what you ordered! :) I like to call it Pho’s spicy cousin. So delicious and glad you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine!

"We're on the sketchy part of town"
Me: Oh this food bouta be good
"It looks abandoned"
Me: Oh hell yeah this food is about to be REAL good 😂
I thought she said the skinny part of town! Lol

Oh I already know that place is 11/10. You know a place is good when the food speaks for itself. And viet coffee is my all time favorite!! Yesss
The coffee is very strong concentrated coffee with sweetened condense milk. The coffee is made with a special coffee strainer where the coffee is slowly dripping. I think you would really like tge soup bun rieu.

My goshhhhhh! That looks incredible!!!!
I always love your vids Ash but this one made my mouth WATER!! 🤤🤤🤤
I know its legit when u say “it looks abandoned” 🤣
if you ever go to cali, PLEASE go to little saigon!!! so manyyy delicious, authentic viet dishes down to desserts and drinks and so many options!!! houston texas also has amazing viet food!!! two of the top spots for viet food in the US truly, nothing compares to it 😊😋
Ooo girl 😭 good luck with the Vietnamese coffee! You’re gonna be up ALL NIGHT!!! love the videos 🩷🩷 keep it up !!! 🙌
This isn’t Pho it’s bun Bo hue just so you know! They taste completely different! You should try actual pho, it’s so amazing especially the broth 😋😋
Yes….completely different.
Girl, I was just waiting for you to blob some of that pho on your beautiful Robin's egg blue sweatshirt, but you rocked it like a champ! Not a spot! The sec you said it looked abandoned I knew guarantee the food was gonna slaap
The pure JOY on your face. Looks so good!

Please go there again and please do a part 2 I have to see more and I love when people support small businesses
The little hole in the wall seemingly abandoned places more often than not have the best food. And food trucks
"bombastic, not really, sorry" has me fucking cackling 🤣
Love your channel ❤
OMG.... I live in Toledo and I am not far from this place! I need it now lol.
I’m jealous everything looks amazing!!!
Now I have a huge craving for pho! Especially on a cold winter day. I live in a small town which is not duverse and what I really miss about living in a bigger city is all the delicious authentic ethnic cuisines.
Fun fact, the broth needs overnight soaked bones so you are not mistaken, it taste like cooked with love overnight bc, it was LMAO
15.00 for healthy fresh really good food . Not bad at all. McDonald's is about that. Rather eat what you were anyday 😊

That soup! I want some of that right now, idk what it tastes like, but it sure looks soo good. Thanks for sharing your experience with us
You need to visit Vietnam someday. You’d flip over how amazing the food is, and so fresh and inexpensive.
Your making me drool. That looks so good😊
Can I just say that I am VERY vegan, but Ashley's content is my guilty pleasure! Love her stuff!!!!
I’ll have to find a Pho place here in the Detroit area but I’ll have to go by myself. My husband is a Viet Nam vet and won’t eat any Vietnamese food. We have a Japanese/ Chinese buffet that we go to and that is how I get my sushi fix. 😉🐈⬛🐈💖🌈
So jealous! Vietnamese is my favorite, but the small country town i live in doesn't have any great vietnamese 😢
So interesting. Where i live we have Vietnamese Restaurants everywhere. Couldn't imagine only having one.
I think the best review of this food is just how happy you look eating it!
I was thinking the same thing 😂
This isn’t phở, this is bún bò huế. Completely different from phở.
Yes. Completely different. Only thing they have in common really is rice noodles and beef. But BBH is pork too with lemongrass and pho is those nice spices like star anise and more “clean” and BBH is BOLD!
@@DB-xo6xhwhy are you explaining like she doesn't know
@@yip2188because she put spicy pho in her title when it’s not pho duh stupid
I love pho. It has become one of my favorite meals, and I get it at least once a month. I trade out my rice noodles for egg noodles, and I chow down, lol. This looked delicious!! 💜
I was thinking about Seafood Pho and spring rolls myself and spicy papaya when I get off work now im really gonna treat myself lol thank you for sharing ☺️
bun bo is not pho it’s just a different noodle soup lol
Love your videos! Just realized where your located and can't wait to get down there and try some of these places!!! 4 generations of my family has always gone to Rudy's Hotdogs, looking forward to more options!

I need to find a place by me that serves it. Looks delicious
It's a magic trick, amazing feat that you can mix and eat all that slurpy, sloppy food & soup without getting it all spilled on your shirt, seat, and car 😮
I love Pho
That salad looked soooo good🤤. I'm definitely looking for that at my local Vietnamese spot!
The soup looks like bun bo Hue - similar to pho, but with a different, spicy broth, and from the Hue area.
Love your reviews ❤️
I had this flashback from Open Season - drinking a latte - ☕ "Ohhhhh... oOOOoo...Ohhh... it's terrible, and wonderful at the same time, it's like freedom in a cup" 😂☕
I am a Vietnamese and I love the way you enjoy some of our special food
I’ve never had pho, but this definitely gave my prego self a craving for pho
Once you have good tasting pho, it will be something you crave on the regular lol it’s so yummy!!
I've never had pho, I feel like I'm missing out. I'm only like an hour from Toledo, may have to try it next time we're that way!
I could eat Vietnamese food everyday of the week! Weekends, Chinese dim sum 😂 BTW I’m 100% Italian 🤷🏻♀️
Haha same! Except I’m half Irish 😉
I love Pho, but Bun is my FAVORITE.
That food made you so happy. Pho is a feel good kind of thing. 😂
Oooh you ordered bun bo hue 😋
How the heck did you eat that with that lovely sweatshirt on and not spill / splatter on it ? Goals !!!!
Ash you.. are.. the.. best💚💚💚🥰💚💚💚💚💚
Looks like you are in a restaurant around home in Lumberton!!😂😂 love your videos ❤❤

Phoxy Pho (the son’s restaurant mentioned) is on Dorr St in Toledo, OH
@@sarahholliday8492 Thank you😊
Vietnamese food is very tempting for me. I live around many Vietnamese people and Vietnamese establishments yet I don't know anything about the food.
It's so good. It's similar in flavour to Chinese food but somehow fresher and lighter.
Where did you get your sweater Ashley. ❤
Here’s one for you Ashley. Del taco has Birra ramen! I got it not expecting much but it was good. Little to much onion but what a surprise 🎉
❤❤❤❤ great suggestion!!!!

Come to California I’ll treat you Vietnamese foods all day. Make us so proud ! Bún Bò xào
I LOVE pho! I always get medium rare beef, beef tendon, beef balls and add shrimp. Man oh man. HEAVEN! 😋😋
I am so happy you made it over there! I need to make another trip over.
That’s looks so good!
Aww shucks, according to google, theyre closed permanently 😢
Pho Viet Nam spelled just like that on Upton Ave? It was very much still open a few days ago
She did say the son had his own location after a different name because they were preparing to retire. Maybe that is the case 😊
I love Vietnamese food. It's probably my favorite of thd whole Asian genre. Unfortunately Panda Express is thd closest thing I havd in the town where I live 😢

Great video 😊
Does anyone know where she lives? Just because I want to go to this restaurant
It's in Toledo, OH
My husband and I were having a discussion about pho yesterday. Timing!
I would like to try pho again. Everything looks good
That looks delicious 😋
