I show how I make a ring out of one of the most expensive woods. Ebony. With the African hardwood padauk as an accent.
    Enjoy :)

What thickness do you tend to make your rings so they are not to brittle

Generally I shoot for 2-3mm sidewall thickness

Beautiful! What solvent did you use before gluing, and why?
And was that CA you used at the end before steel wool?

Sandro Tyr Warrick thanks for watching! I used acetone before the glue up because I'd heard ebony was oily and didn't take glue well, it's not a bad idea, but I no longer do this when I glue ebony and it still works for. And yes I used CA as the finish.

Some woods have oils that could affect the adhesion of the glue.
