      Dts really great. All the MCQs are standard ones which are asked in AIIMS and NEET PG exams. By the MCQs you will be able to do self assessment as well preparation for neet pg examinations

    Total ATPs generated in beta oxidation of fatty acids is 108;
    but here only ONE ATP is used for 2 high energy phospahtes , so shouldn't net yield be 108-1=107 instead of 108 - 1 =106
    I didn't understand why the yield is 108-2=106 ATPs even though only one ATP is utilized for activation of palmitic acid

      Hello fayaaz... Total ATP generated in beta oxidation of fatty acid is 108, And in activation of fatty acids TWO INORGANIC PHOSPHATES are used. So net ATP from palmitic acid is 108-2 = 106 ATPs. Hope it helps

Triglycerides are fatty acid esters of glycerol and represent the main lipid component of dietary fat and fat depots of animals.
      Triglycerides store unused calories and provide your body with energy. Cholesterol is used to build cells and certain hormones.
