    I really never got any advice because I don't really do my hair. I know I was told that pulling my hair back into a bun all the time would cause damage. I just got my hair cut because I wasn't taking care of it and I was just letting it get knotted up and just pulling hair off. My son had a wedding and it was like what am I supposed to do for my hair and I bought a wig but it felt and looked too weird on me and my adult daughter lost it and sent me to one of her friend salons. She did the steam and protein and flat iron and cut away damage (was a lot of it).
    How long can you keep your hair straight before you need to reverse it. I kind of like it because all I have to do is get 4 flex rod curlers and put on my sleep cap and I am ready for the next day. and also scared about just how close to the scalp it might be once it back in its original curl format.

    What if you don't use heat, perms or dyes on your hair do you still need a protein treatment or even a light protein treatment?

    • @marleyhill34
      @marleyhill34 Месяц назад +6

      It depends on your hair. I don't use heat, perms or dyes but i have ultra-fine, high porosity hair. I need the protein to strengthen my hair and fill in some of the porisity. I also shampoo my scalp and style my hair weekly so that can contribute to some mechanical damage. If you have stronger hair and you style your hair once a month, then you probably only need a very light protein treatment which probably is already in your deep conditioner as, wheat protein, silk amino acids, etc in the ingredients list. Also if it ain't broke do not fix it. If your hair is ok with your current regimen, then it's unnecessary to switch it up.

    Hi Tonya, do you still need to use protein treatments if you use henna regularly?

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  Месяц назад +4

      Hey! Great question! Henna can be tricky, it does bind to the keratin of the hair (coloring the hair), however it does not contain protein so technically it doesn't repair the hair like a protein treatment would. I would try a protein treatment and see how your hair responds with the henna. The Aphogee 2 min is very light, so you should be fine.

      If your hair is mushy and breaking off you need a protein treatment. If your hair is brittle/stiff and breaking off you need a moisture/protein-free treatment. If neither of these work, you need to see a professional stylist, cosmetologist or trichologist who specialises in hair loss and healthy hair.
