Nicely done - I love the variety of hatching brushes you created. You have some wonderful textures and the layering was beautifully done. The final portrait had a very different character and feel than the reference - both classic, but the crosshatch one also looked vintage and like from an old art house/ad agency archive.
Thank you! I hope you feel encouraged to do so! It is very easy once you get the hangs of it! I recommend checking out my previous crosshatching tutorial on my channel, it is more aimed for beginners and it includes a couple of exercises you can download to practice while following along 😊
@@IttaiManero Ah I see. Yeah I´m pretty sure it does. Took me like 2h alone for crosshatching one character. I need to make a document for myself where I record some shortcuts for specific uses in digital art. Traditional is fun but more for yourself as a meditation. Sometimes I want to be faster. ^^
Very nice work my friend.. BUT, it takes skill to do what you just did. I am not an artist (unfortunately) ... I'm just hoping that someday soon, some program can do this for us with a few clicks... you know like converting an existing image into a crosshatched sketch. Thank you so much.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I understand that digital tools are constantly evolving, and it’s exciting to think about the possibilities of converting images into various art styles. However, the purpose of this tutorial is to help those who want to learn and develop their skills when applying crosshatching to their artworks using these brushes. I believe there’s a unique beauty in hand-drawn art, and I’m here to guide those interested in this technique. Based on the first line of your comment, I know you appreciate the effort and passion artists put into their work, so thank you 🙏 Have a great day!
@@IttaiManero you will make it I am sure! I subscribe with my other YT account too, thats how much I love your content and brushes is! and I will buy your brushes one day once I am getting a hang of procreate digital drawing.

That’s very kind of you! By your comment it seems like I achieved exactly what I intended, hurray! 😄 Thank you so much! ✨
What a nice job and narrative for the process.
Thank you so much, Bill! I'm glad you like it! 😊

Thank you! 😊
Great tutorial, maybe I’ll finally manage to draw something using these brushes. (I’m horrible at crosshatching.) 😅

Big props! Can you tell how long this drawing took? From finding a reference to finishing the rendering? :)
Thank you! This was posted 2 years ago, so I can’t remember exactly, but probably around 2-3 hours. The crosshatching brushes save a lot of time
