Those 'captain chairs' must make a huge difference mentally. It's normal like sitting at home in the armchair watching tv etc, with natural lite. Lying on the bunk, scrunched up in the back of the truck, Nah! Great vlog & truck Martin.

Glad you're enjoying your new truck Martyn. Talking about heated seat. I bought my new Ford Focus just after my Tom passed away. It was a Ford Kuga originally, to pull the caravan. Anyway, I decided to stop caravanning, although I was ok in towing, no problem, but it wasn't the same without him. So my Focus has a heated seat, and its brilliant. It has three settings, the third being the hottest. If I use it, I find that number 1 is ideal for me. First time I've had one🙂. Seeing you lock up the trailer, reminds me of doing the same with the caravan. Hitchlock, two wheel locks (one clamp for one side and a lock for the middle of the wheel) and two steady locks. Can't be too careful🤣. That's the problem when you're one of a few, the customs will give a really going over so they have something to do🤣🤣
So very glad that you seem to be enjoying the new truck. Looks brilliant. Great to have a nice comfortable bunk in the truck which gives you a good sleep. Stay safe and take care

22.20: You had a piece of luck there Martyn - parking, a shower, a meal, put your card in at 06.40 to do your checks and still be at your pick up at 07.00! One to remember, I think... It's a shame about laddercam but these things happen.

Hi Martin love your vlogs was a driver all my working life 70 now so this bring back so meny memories I had a brand new turbo star 420 the the rest where all sweeds keep them coming mate and thank you .
I used to use the 330pm boat a lot when on coaches. Then the ridiculous time to get out of Portsmouth and into the passenger terminal to get my passengers. I would get off and go to the Travelodge across the road. A colleague would then take the coach to the passenger destination.

Thanks for the vlog Martin I’m enjoying the European travels. I drive Iveco’s from 70 plate 420 Stralis to 73 plate 530 Sway. The 70 plates look absolutely knackered with buttons missing but that 530 was very nice. With the Speedo you can have it in digital in the middle of the dash. Using the control on left side of steering wheel, control the menu to the very top square then go left once. You can change it between km & mph in the display settings. Long one but hope it helps 👍🏻

Really good looking truck mate, yes your right about the brakes, I drove an s-way a few times with wilko, cracking trucks but really didn't like the "feel" of the foot brake. Looking and sounding awesome fair play 👍🏴🏴

Well done on the new truck, it even sounds meaty on the audio ! As a regular on that route across to see parents in France, I believe Caen Ooo- stram (Ouistreham) is pronounced Carn or Calne like the one in Wiltshire 😂 amazed no loiterers nr the port I normally see them in daylight hours,

Lovely looking truck! The thing is with iveco is they lie about the power, its probably nearer 600 bhp which is a bonus😊

Hi Martyn. As someone has already said, the peak torque is 2500Nm, which is not exceptional,but it is developed from 1000RPM and remains constant until 1605RPM. At this point the full 570BHP is produced as well and is maintained right up to 1900RPM.
This is a characteristic of all Iveco Cursor engines, they use variable geometry geometry turbocharger, this builds up the revs very quickly and there's no drop off in torque until 1605RPM.
The Traxon gearbox changes quickly and keeps the truck pulling without using excess revs. Also the software gets the truck up to cruising speed quickly, rather than building up speed gradually.
On a very steep hill at 44 tonnes it gets down to the gear that it can climb the hill in, but as soon as the gradient eases its up through the gears and away again. People don't realise quite how well they go until they drive one properly.

Great vlog Martin,love that Iveco they certainly have come long way. Try the turtle wax hybrid solution leather mist cleaner ( it's about £12) it's fantastic stuff I use iron my Renault capture seats. Brilliant!! Hopefully will be able to see the truck at bath and west if you go this year. Keep up the vlogs best part of the week!!

The last Iveco I drove was during Covid, it was a beaten up multi-user spare 2014 Stralis, think it was a 480. It was used and abused and rather tatty but my word did it go, set the cruise control to 56mph and come hell and high water, it wanted to get there and stay there, none of this eco roll or shutting the power off when getting close to the top of a hill. So different to the DAFs and Mercs I was mainly driving at the time.
yes the s way is the same mate it just keeps pulling. I really do like it
