I own 4 of Miguel's flutes, absolutely love them, he is a true master! His harmony drones look much easier to play that my harmony drone from another maker, love the sound. Thanks Jonny!

nice collab Jonny.....beautiful flute and sounds amazing. I am amazed and proud for you of where you've taken your love of the NASF. I've watched you grow up from a young man seeing you at Echoes each year, growing up and doing what you want to do, and now having a beautiful family to boot...............so happy for you my friend.
Thanks for asking! Having the thumb holes, which takes a bit of practice to manage, will give you 3 extra notes above the notes on the top of the flute. By opening one, then two and then both you can get those extra notes. The specific tuning of the flute will determine what those are. Miguel Medina of Singing Tree Flutes has become quite adventurous lately with what flute configurations will accept the thumb and pinky hole designs. If you are interested in something specific, I would recommend you contact him directly at: singingtreeflutes.com

The thumb hole gives a cross-fingering note (6b). Here is a bit of a tutorial video on how to play this: ruclips.net/video/TQ_zOZTKqfs/видео.html Thanks for tuning in!
Indeed, I do! This flute and many other styles of drone flutes are available from SingingTree Flutes: singingtreeflutes.com I do occasionally have one available from them in which I would put up a video such as this to announce it.
Thanks for asking! The “Mayan” name in the flute refers to a sound associated with a period of music similar to Gregorian chants. Various versions of these may have the name Mayan, Aztec, etc. labeling them. The Harmony part of the name refers to how the left and right sides of the flute play harmoniously with each other, usually tuned to perfect 5ths apart or 4ths in note selection. To understand this concept better, you might refer to the musical Circle of 5ths in music theory. Hope this helps!
I am so sorry. Any flute is better than no flute. Perhaps a single flute would meet your desire in the future? I truly hope that you are able to weather these difficult times that we are experiencing. If you would like a suggestion for an inexpensive flute that sounds great, this might be a good choice for you, if you are feeling the need for just a little something new. Jon's flutes are amazing at this price point. Best wishes, Beverly. Oooo it's beautiful! Could you possibly explain/demo what difference it will make to not have the thumb holes?

I would love one. But the cost is too much for this unemployed and broke person.
