Thanks for the great tutorial! I have had a circuit maker for a few years now and have never used it! It's very intimidating! This tutorial makes using the circuit look easy! Thanks for sharing your crafting knowledge!❤️
hey this was super helpful! I've been making crochet plushies for ten years now, and hand-cutting and gluing the eyes has always been the bane of my existence.
Thank you so much! I have been struggling with eyes for my amigurumi! I've tried safety eyes, crocheted eyes, and embroidered eyes. I haven't been happy with any of them. Being able to make these eyes on my cricut will take my little creations to the next level!
@@jackiesstampcreationscasci1413 it’s backed with heat and bond and you use hot glue which will activate the heat and bond adhesive and it gives it great hold
Use the fabric bonded blade or the deep point blade. You will need to play around with the cut settings just like any other material to find what will work best for you
I have a question, if i wanted to use fabric glue to attach my eyes instead of ironing them on does that change any of the items you added in your description list?
You don’t iron the eyes on. That would ruin the yarn. And you would not use fabric glue on htv it won’t hold to the felt. You need to use heat and pressure to apply the htv to the felt and then for applying the eye to the yarn it’s best to use a glue that will cause the heat and bond to activate to create a better bond with the yarn
No. The easy press is just a big iron. It’s not worth the price in my opinion. I see more people struggle to get their htv to stay on correctly when using one
I could use a circle and slice out a lash shape from that to get the curve right and then duplicate it for as many lashes as you want then weld them in place
This tutorial was amazing. Just now successfully made my first set of eyes. Question - does htv lose a bit of its shine after pressing? Mine went a bit dull and now I'm wondering if giving the eyes a thin coat of modpoge is a thing? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge & talent. 😊👁️
No htv shouldn’t lose shine but the shine you see on htv is actually the carrier sheet. Your htv is not going to be glossy like the carrier sheet shows. And no absolutely do not put mod podge on these. Mod podge is a glue and water based so if it gets wet or hot and humid it’s going to be an absolute mess
@@emptynestgardens9057 you absolutely can wash a toy with these eyes. You just should never apply mod podge to anything unless using it as a glue. Mod podge is not a good product to use as a sealant for any reason but especially not on a fabric
@@tkgosselin the hot glue activates the heat and bond. It gives a really great hold. With just heat and bond the eyes can peel off plus using a heat press or iron on the yarn can cause problems with yarn melting, or discoloring
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you so much for the answer. You have to remember that there have been a lot of updates to design space in the last few months. So videos especially from a couple years ago will look different. The functions are still the same and in basically the same place. You just might need to take some time and hover over your options to see where they are on the latest version of design space.
Also the app is completely different from the real software. If you are running on a mobile device, tablet, or a chrome book your design space is extremely different and limiting to what you can actually do
