As someone who works in the tech repair field, I'd like to point out that it's important to unplug the battery cable first, and when you put it back together at the end, make sure that battery cable is the last one plugged in. This will help prevent any shorting damage. This applies to ALL phones. (For those who don't know, the battery cable is one with a straight cable, not a flimsy one like the other ones - or just follow whichever cable comes from the battery)
I fixed the charging port and replaced the earpiece assembly on my iPhone X just by watching tutorials! The way iPhones are designed makes it surprisingly easy, even for beginners. All you need is a bit of patience and confidence!
When I went looking for the glass, all I found were people selling the complete metal back case assembly with the glass already in place. Is that the thing now, just to swap out the entire mounting plate? Seems easier.
it definitely is easier to buy the whole assembly part, this is to difficult to do, mainly because there are too many moving part, and certainly you will forget where parts go. This is a $75 fix here in Houston.
no because the back of an iPhone 7 plus is attached to the frame. If you were experienced, you could possibly just take the internals if the iPhone 8 and shove them into an iPhone 7 but Apple has a tendency to brick devices when the phones detect unauthorized repair. Granted, I don't think this will be an issue with an iPhone 8, just make sure you use the original iPhone 8 screen and home button.
I have to assume that people doing this repair are not doing this everyday like I am, so I make sure to minimize the chance of any major damage happening from someone watching the video. Of course videos are for learning and realistically you need to watch the entire video and understand it before attempting the repair.

Me 6:30 mins in “well I guess $175 to have the pro do this is not that bad.”
That's what i said

Can’t believe I did this! The glass part took me a days worth of time to get out completely.
Excellent tutorial!!! Thanks a million!

Really helpful, thank you!
From where did you purchase this back glass
can you replace iphone 8 plus back glass with back cover of iPhone 7 Plus.?

I thought this was going to look way easier 😹. I guess I’ll be waiting until I can get a new phone
6:00 where can I get a replacement piece? I melted it
It’s the power button flex cable
damn the glass back glue is like cement, lets hope i can put this back together xD
why do you remove all the components? is that to protect them from the heat gun? and is that necessary?

why not just put a cover on the back to fide it all
I don't understand why is it sooo hard to remove the glass from this iphone.
A iPhone12 remove works easier.
Very true.
Too much removing 💀
Bull crap
