    For decades in the US the average IQ of college graduates was 115 which is one standard deviation from the mean of 100 and is at the 68th percentile of the general population. Based on that fact alone this video is very distorted as it is mathematically impossible for that many clerks and cashiers to have IQ scores higher than college graduates. This is a feel good video that’s not accurate.

    I have measured my IQ a few times with the Mensa test, I get between 125-130. I actually struggled with education as I easily get distracted by things I find more interesting so I ended up with boring jobs I never really enjoyed at all. So at one point I just left my job, sold my house and used the capital to buy run down houses that I repaired myself mostly, sold them or kept them to rent out. Now I am self thought plasterer, plumber, electrician, carpenter and whatever needs to be done I will usually do it. I also repair watches, cars and motorbikes. My life is now great, but was awful in those dead end jobs.

    • @imixmuan9081
      @imixmuan9081 9 месяцев назад +4

      self thought? : ) But seriously, if you are buying, repairing and selling houses and repairing watches you are using a lot of your intelligence doing those things. Someone with a lower IQ probably wouldn't be able to do what you are doing. I'm a veterinarian, so reasonably high IQ, but I've met plenty of vets who are just average people, who had the determination to stick through 8 years of educational brutality because they really, really wanted the job. Veterinary specialists, like neurologists or internal medicine specialists are a cut above us average joe vets, I think their IQs are more inline with Physicians and Surgeons in human medicine.

Yes some people I know from far back, people I went to school with that I happen to know that their IQ is probably not very high but they muddled through the education just because they were stubborn and diciplined, these people got good jobs but rarely did very well as they probably aimed too high. I believe that it's a good thing that people are so different not only in terms of IQ but in every way, as we need all kinds of people in a society. Also we need the introverts as much as the extroverted, even if many people seem to think only the extroverted people are the one to hire in almost any job. Can anyone imagine what a workplace with ONLY high IQ extroverted people would be like? I almost can't!!! 😂

I went into the automotive field after HS, became certified but it was too monotonous. Recall after recall. Then, I became a traveling field service engineer in the Semiconductor industry, and still currently doing that, but very monotonous as well. Now, on the side, I flip and rent out trailers and small properties, and there is nothing better than that. Something about doing the basics of every trade that is very satisfying.

      IQ literally test how fast you can solve a problem. Being a lawyer, you need to have fast responses and analyze what’s the best thing to say. Doctors.. I mean if they’re in a surgery, they’re gonna fucking need that fast-thinking ngl. Accountants.. I don’t even know man, analyzing skills?
      My point is that Engineers generally have more time to think and develop their products. Usually the jobs that need high IQ are the jobs that needs fast thinking, good analyzing, and problem-solving skills. Mind you, most engineers make stuff that already exists, if they have to innovate a new machine, they’ll definitely need a high IQ but the average engineer doesn’t really do that.

    I find this whole IQ praise to be interesting. In life, it's all about you applying the information and skills to maximize outcomes. 200 years ago, men with IQ's of 135 was out plowing fields with men with IQs of 85. In that environment, the guy with the 82 IQ may have more skills and experience at farming than the savant level man. (Making him a genius in that particular field of discipline.)

    • @Alexis-kg1sm
      @Alexis-kg1sm 3 месяца назад

      IQ is virtually a multiplying factor in learning. So a genius will learn many skills with only small amounts of experience in those tasks.
      Every 20 to 30 IQ is almost 10 times the learning efficiency.
      Example, a genius learns in 2 days what an idiot learns in 1 month.
      These theoretical approaches are not fulfilled because experience does not bring the necessary information in an orderly manner. But they are true in academic contexts where learning is designed in a more convenient order.
      Even more so, in the case of self-taught people. The lower intellects simply fail greatly in their purposes.
      IQ easily predicts who can pick up an instruction manual and apply it quickly, who will be slow, and who will need supervision.
      The case of working the land has the disadvantage that most of the data is obtained with muscular effort. Even if the one with great IQ learns more efficiently, it requires muscular qualities first. IQ is not very relevant there; but there are statistics that indicate fewer accidents in workers with higher IQ.
      That low IQ expert is rare. On the other hand, most do not reach experts because they hardly improve their skills after a certain level.

      The unemployed (those looking for work) have a low average IQ. The convicts have a very low average.
      Additionally. Although 100 is the population average. The lowest IQs die early, that is, in practice the average IQ is a little higher.
      In other words, 100 is the average of those examined in a representative sample. But after a few decades, only the survivors are left working.

    Your job/career doesn't equate your intelligence
    EVER.
    Check out pindex vid on high end jobs.... primarily CEOs etc .....their intelligence and effectiveness of overall is EXTREMELY limited....plus alot of these high end careers aren't earned....they're handed down from father to son ...like an inheritance...a mini monarchy if you will strong intelligent men build huge businesses....just like in the old days they'd build empires or devise intelligent strategies to usurp the crowns of monarchist countries.....only to leave it to weaker dumbber sons who would fuck it all up..... not that Fred Trump was any Einstein....but compared to Donald even Cartman from South Park is a genius in comparison!!!
