Epcot here in Florida use to have THE best little Yakitori place. But they turned it into more a lunch bar thing and got rid of the excellent Yakitori they use to do there. HOWEVER, I discovered there is an asian place in FutureWorld that does something close. Baring that, I know 2 authentic Japanese restaurants in Orlando to hit up.
There was a decent (if eccentrically managed) Yakitori bar in Houston. In fact, it was directly across the street from my office. It closed two weeks before we moved into that location. Three years later, I'm still sad about it.
Such a sad thing. I wish more bars locally would add Yakitori to their menu. We have one beach side that unofficially has what they call chicken and mushroom kabobs. But it's dripping with Yakitori sause. So...close enough.

alternative to mirin?
Omit Mirin and increase the amount of sugar slightly.
@@JapaneseCooking101 thank you!
How can I replace the mirin and sake?
We made this because we had the ingredients handy
Don't need the mirin since it's just sugar and rice wine which have already been added.
Arigato
We also call it
yakitori but says by pork

Good Yakitori is about as close as I've gotten to sex in food form.
