Bangers: Rihanna & Drake - What's My Name? P!nk - F**kin' Perfect Lady Gaga - Born This Way P!nk - Raise Your Glass Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks Rihanna - S&M Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull - On the Floor (Oh we're dancing! Groot, you know you want to dance to this😄) Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (I actually forgot Christina Aguilera will appear here again, I also think "Say Something" will appear in the later years, I do love this one though, but I understand why you wouldn't) Nicki Minaj - Super Bass CeeLo Green - Forget You Bruno Mars - Grenade (S tier) Pitbull, Afrojack, Ne-Yo & Nayer - Give Me Everything (2011 was all about partying) Katy Perry & Kanye West - E.T (yeah it is one of her edgier songs and there's a solo version actually which I prefer to the Kanye feature) Katy Perry - Firework (we'll see Katy Perry quite a lot here haha) LMFAO, Lauren Bennett & GoonRock - Party Rock Anthem (Once again, party! You are overthinking it Grooty, most of the time these songs are just for the clubs haha, you know we're dancing if the song is on in the club, even though I think it's absolute garbage) Adele - Rolling in the Deep (S tier!) I actually really like this year, I recognize a lot of songs and they are enjoyable for me. Pop music fans are thriving, but I also see why you wouldn't like it haha. Can't wait to see what 2012 will bring.
A lot of party songs this year, yes... but the ones on this list don't really represent the positive side of club music from the time in my opinion Really disappointed none of the David Guetta songs from his One Love album didn't appear on these lists. Would've also loved to see something from the Skrillex debut album make it but I guess LMFAO was more... accessible?
@@groot1421 wasn't this the time when they started accepting streams and RUclips views for their charts? So it makes sense why a meme song would get this high.
Mr. Julio Iglesias could have spared us all by telling his son that maybe music is just not for him, but I got a good laugh out of you putting him in his place here at least
Nothing from 2011 holds a candle to Rolling In The Deep, period. Interesting that you seemed to react to the uncensored versions of the two songs that are probably better known for the clean radio airplay cuts, and then the inverse for CeeLo Green's song which I think is better known as F**k You.
I have to be honest I just listened to the versions on the Spotify playlist I found because I couldn't be bothered to delve deep into songs I don't particularly enjoy either hahah
Ranking the songs I know about: Look At Me Now: so loud and obnoxious and a terrible lyric as well (yeah, my mom was nice and my dad is dead seriously). F-tier. What’s My Name: well produced song with a catchy hook and sung well. Very uninteresting though and yeah it has a cringe lyrics (what’s the square root of 69, it’s 8 something right because I’ve been trying to work it out, ohh). D-tier. F***in Perfect: the song is sweet but does nothing and that curse adds nothing either and just comes off a bit ingenuine. D-tier. Born This Way: insane bop that has a great message. Very catchy and well sung. I really like it even though the instrumental is quite chaotic but it works for me personally. B-tier for me. Raise Your Glass: what a bop with a great message. So much energy and punchy and I love it, though it isn’t spectacular. A-tier. Tonight (I’ll Be F***in You): the radio edit is great. I love its production and how it just throws its balls to the wall and Enrique is perfect for this sort of song. A B-tier as it is quite dated and a little boring at points and yeah the unedited cut is very cringe. Last Friday Night: I love this song. It had such a good weekend vibe and it is so well-produced and performed. That sad solo is so badly done though and brings it down a tier for me, making it a B-tier for me. Pumped Up Kicks: what a dark message for such a happy song. I do like its vibe though it is boring and I like the contrasting vocal delivery with the verse and chorus with its production. Very catchy and that is its saving grace for me. It is a B-tier as I do appreciate the lyrical content and enjoy its plodding vibe well-enough with its catchy chorus. S&M: I get the appeal but damn it is way ot loud and boring for me. It gives me visual and sonic overload. E-tier because of Rihanna herself. On The Floor: such a bad use of interpolation and I think Jennifer Lopez is so lazy and a fraud. The song is also too loud and boring for me as well. A clear F-tier for me. Forget You: I love the vibe of this song and its throwback 50s vibes with his attitude which is an enjoyable contrast. It is so catchy and well-sung as well. Though this song is lowered with its unedited version. A clear A-tier for me. Moves Like Jagger: I get that critique but damn I just love its vibe and it is such a catchy hook. This is an S-tier song for me. Super Bass: this is a fun song with lots of attitude but sort of annoying for me and her look is so fake as well. A D-tier for me I think. Firework: such a fake inspiring song. Great vocals and vibe but doesn’t stir anything up in me with half-decent, dated production. A C-tier. Grenade: really cute, over dramatic lyrics that work and a solid instrumental with a great vocal. B-tier. Give Me Everything: this is a of a soft but solid bop but there is a cringe but charming Kodak reference courtesy of Pitbull. Great vocal but a bit repetitive. This is a C-tier song for me. E.T.: this is a bit overbearing sonically for me but a bit catchy and it works decently for me. This is a C-tier for me. Rolling in the Deep: amazing vocal with so much epic mess and punch. My fave Adele song by far. S-tier for me. Part Rock Anthem: a charming song with a cringe concept that sort of works. Don’t like the drop but it has a decent attitude that is somewhat charming. C-tier for me. A lot of decent songs here but some gems. A very dated year that works in moments but just falls flat in many.
What a lousy year this is... I don't really enjoy this year in particular. I feel grumpy when I listen to almost every song. Except for Rolling in the deep, that is a S tier, for me.
I too appreciate Adele, but RITD is maybe her most throwaway pop song. Grenade, Born this way & Firework are stronger. - BTW: Come on Mr. Grumpy, embrace the Minaj!!
Oh my, didn't expect the harsh review for "Rolling in the Deep" but it's indeed quite "poppy" for her standards. And no no no way... Nicki Minaj is the furthest thing away from my preferences and I will (unfortunately for you) most likely never warm up to her style
2011 isn't a year for songs for me as well, but Grenade was the only saving grace for me. That song is a deserving S tier in my book.

@GrootsGrandma I'm sure you're right... I think that happened after the success of Gangnam Style
Both P!nk and CeeLo Green songs has clean radio versions, i guess Enrique Iglesias too
P!nk - You Are Perfect
CeeLo Green - Forget You
Enrique Iglesias - Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)
I got to know that 'Tonight (I'm Lovin You)' is not the original version only in 2015 c:

Never even noticed that lyric from "What's My Name" hahahah

The Minaj is not for the faint-hearted, Alipan (so not for me either most of the time, haha)
