in one essential point I don´t agree with the argument "it´s easier to scan": Transforming handwritten notes in a digital text-file is the biggest ease for my work ever seen!!! thanks for that invention
Just my experience: using thinner writing pad will enhance accuracy of sketches and writing. As the movement of pen is captured by the sensor underneath the pad, the thinner the pad is the better capture. I hope I am right.
Firstly - Brilliant video. I personally have been in the market for a a writing alternative device that integrates digitalisation for a little bit now. Ive tried the "remarkable2" and multiple drawing tablets. But this is by far the best product that meets my needs. The biggest issue for me with drawing tablets and the remarkable was tactility and responsiveness which this completely eradicates. Ive used XP pen drawing tablets before and as a company i do like their products as well. You can change the notebook inside. You can change the ball point refil of the pen. It stores upto 50 pages without needing a connection that you can then trasfer and wipe as and when required. - BRILL My only critisism is it would be nice to see an alternative that allows the use of a reusable alternative that doesnt use paper - like the LCD writing tablets (Which btw is a brilliant alternative to a small whiteboard.) Or a dry erase alternative 🤔
First, I agree with you - Excellent video Teoh Yi Chie. I too have been thinking about getting the Remarkable however I cannot get behind paying the 3.99 or 4.99/month. I actually like using paper so I think I will take the plunge and try it out. Thank you both.
kinda cool, definetly very "niche". As many have said there are other alternatives to this, like taking a photo of the sketch or just drawing directly on digital, but that doesnt mean its useless. Interesting little piece of tech.
It's registration appears to use a relative positioning system rather than absolute coordinates. It would have been much better if the lines were vectors rather than bitmaps.
What if while taking notes I add some sketch? Example: I'm studying engineering. So I'd add a sketch of a Part with some text underneath it. Would it work? Thanks!
What if we ran out of paper? Can we use a different type of paper or notebook? Personally, I makes a lot of mistakes during note-taking and this device seems to really compromise the ability to erase and rewrite.
Seems interesting, especially for those who still prefer writing and drawing on actual paper without the hassle of having to take a photo of everything after the fact on their phone. What I felt was missing was a discussion on what paper worked better. I know you said as long as the notebook or whatever "fit" in the sleeve but does that mean attaching a similarly sized sketchbook would render it useless if it didn't fit into the slot on the side? It is a device I will definitely investigate more. Thanks for the review even though you seemed non-committal on whether it was good for artists or not. EDIT: I just looked up the device on Amazon, $90 USD?!? Yeah, this is definitely something I will look into! Please talk more about it from the perspective of an artist. Note-taking is nice, but I'd rather have it for importing sketches since I'm one of those people who doesn't have a scanner and would prefer this over purchasing something that takes up space at home.
@@teohyc I saw there were a few missed lines, but as a way to get started and into a desktop drawing program without the intermediate step of needing to scan the sketch is why it caught my attention. I'm thinking I would be adding more to it anyway.
Thanks for this review! On the retail store presentation it looked very much different and more useful, but after seeing this, i see it's just a waste of money. Little money, compared with others more expensive, but then again, it's nowhere close resembling those more expensive. As others said, could go zero costs and just photo my old-school agenda's with my phones camera and also get accurate copy of drawing/notes.
@@romiyon_ For ink, it's Ministar ink refill which is easy to find at stationary shops or online. For paper refill, you just have to find any paper pad that's similar in size.
@@teohyc Alright sir, but one more thing please: any idea about how long one refill will last? I mean 'approximately how many pages I can write with the original pen that is included in the box'? You can't erase on the paper. You have to do it digitally and that's more tedious because the whole product is designed for writing without erase features
Hello Teoh Yi....contacted the company about this Note Plus....they said it does NOT work with iPad.....due to the large screen size....i think they are working on it!
@@teohyc So once the paper is drawn/written on, we can’t use it anymore? Do we then need to get new replenishment of the whole notepad worth of fresh pages?
You have to use the pen that's provided. And since it can only take the ballpoint refill, it cannot do heavy inking. Shading has to be in the form of hatching.
I've not tried Rocketbook so I can't say much about that. The only pen that's compatible with this is the included pen. Other pens/styluses do not work.

Here's some devices I love & never saw a review on: Livescribe pens (had 3 so far, now I got an echo). They do ALL that all other digital pens do PLUS one very important thing: record audio & TAG it with the notes. The problem usually is not digitizing the notes, but being incapable of typing /writing fast enough to get everything that's said. With any Livescribe pen you can just jot down summaries or titles, then when you tap your writing in the book or click online & hear EVERYTHING that was said when you took that note. This is crucial for lectures, meetings, etc. Yes, in a professional setting you have to ask for permission to record, but usually is not denied & then you have everything. There is NO other pen that I know that does this.
Grosse déception, je viens de l'acheter mail elle ne fonctionne pas, elle n'est reconnu par aucun appareil. Totalement inutilisable, j'ai payé 99€ un simple carnet. Je vous la déconseille.

Interesting tech, but it's redundant.

Decent review, cool tech, but it just seems like wasting ink and paper should be a thing of the past
Great vide Teoh, like always...but for me it's an annoying tech. I prefer draw directly on the Tab or on the paper or include scan my sketches.

No you can't, the pad is reading the movement of the provided pen.
