Do you prefer a straight mic over a rounded mic (green bullet) Hakan? I see that you use both in your video's. Which would you recommend for an amateur?
I suggest that you try in a store which one that feels best for you. Or maybe borrow from friends. Compare the straight mic Shure SD545 with Shure green bullet 520DX (very big) and Hohner Blues Blaster (a little smaller than green bullet). All these three are good mics. Some people with big hands have problems with the straight mic.
The SD545 is probably delivered low impedance (for PA) so it will sound very week through a guitar amp. So you have to rewire it to high impedance which is easy if you follow the instructions in the box to SD545. You only need a small screw driver.
