Hey Jim, I just planted six coppertop viburnums to form a hedge. Thanks for posting this video, it helped me decide on what to use next to our pool! They have full sun in the morning/early afternoon then shade mid/late afternoon. Hope they will be happy with that!

Awesome. Good luck with them. I am doing a follow up video next month on the ones I planted.

HortTube with Jim Putnam can’t wait to see it!! Wish I could show you pictures of our work! We planted layers of coppertop viburnums, phantom Hydrangeas, daisy gardenias, peonies and boxwood. It’s a huge garden bed-20 ft by 60 ft!

I was just researching viburnums for zone 9b last night! Watched your Chinese snowball vid. It’s strange cuz from what you’ve said & what I read online, many are hardy in this zone yet I never see them in our local garden centers. They’re such pretty, easy to grow shrubs! There’s a couple kinds I want. Thanks for introducing me to another one!

Hello Jim, thanks for all the great content. Is the Coppertop™ Sweet Viburnum truly evergreen? I've read a few reviews saying that all the leaves dropped at the first cold snap, I'm in 8a and need evergreen screening. Thank you!

Hey from Zone 9, Jim. I just bought five of these lovelies to hide an electrical box. They are so beautiful. Did you plant them about 2' apart? Also, thanks for your tutorial on Gardenias. So helpful.

Two feet would probably be too close. At least 3' apart would be better.

I always get Vibernum’s confused with Pieris Japonica because they look very similar. Is there a true difference?

Can you tell me how this will perform in 9a in shade? I want to do a hedge with these row that starts in sun but ends in full shade. I’m wondering if I should switch to a different plant for the full shade portion. Thanks!

Would these work in a container?

Is there a Viburnum for zone 7A that I could use for screening?

Leatherleaf, Pragense, and Chindo. And more actually. I have videos for those three. Thanks for watching.

Starla Kelsey I have the same question...

I have a viburnum davidii that is a good 12 ft high at least, too high for where it is, but i believed the tag when i planted it. I think it would be great as part of a hedge, and, if you plant more than 1 you should get berries. It is tough, too. Survived blackberries, deer leave it alone, no pests or diseases, etc. I am in zone 8, but i think it is good in zone 7.

I’m zone 7 and my local nursery had these so I’m thinking it’s hardier than they let on. I planted mine within a fence so they will be protected from winter winds.
