I flew on this same flight just before Covid - except we were in a regular A330-300. I can’t believe how the quality of the food has deteriorated. It was excellent back then - especially for Y on a North American carrier. Amazing views on approach I would have insisted on keeping the window open.
Wild review - so crazy about the downgrade. I'm doing this flight in business in a few months (Hopefully I don't get downgraded ahha). Thanks for the review!
Awesome review. I also think the A330 is a beautiful plane.
Great Review! One Of The Best On YT
Beautiful shot off the coast of Israel. That Ice Cream was so hard, you can use it as a weapon lol
It took an hour to thaw out talk about a disappointment
I love the a330 neo,good job
Urrrgh! The first diner looks like somebody has eaten it before. I ate my last diner on an AirFrance-flight from FDF to ORY in eco plus in march 2020 - this diner was excellent AND Champagne before take off and during the flight - so much as I want!
WAs in Israel in march . Amazing country definitely going back soon
Yes Israel is indeed an amazing country its the only country that I look forward to returning to every single time:)
Awesome vid! I flew on united ewr-tlv recently i loved 10:25 shabbat shalom!
I would be very anger if Delta downgraded me mid flight
This shouldn't have been done!!!!
I hope he complained!
I did indeed talk to them about this incident however they insisted that my upgrade was a mistake despite my status with delta which is the reason why i was upgraded in the first place...... a true shame on their behalf
Relatively decent meal compared to United and American.
From what I've seen Delta's catering has gotten pretty bad during covid. But fortunately, post covid, it has improved significantly. I took a domestic flight recently from ATL to HNL, and the meal they served was pretty decent. I imagine if it's good on a domestic flight (albeit a longer one to Hawaii), it should be similar if not better for the international fare.
Really sucks about the downgrade though. At least you got extra legroom at the exits though =]
I was in this flight
inflight meals looks totally disappointed ! I always wanna fly Delta 330 neo, but the problems is that there is no guaranteed that sometime they switches to 330 ceo...
I prefer SFO for international flights and connect in Europe. I will be going to TLV next week via IST on Turkish
I would also rather fly directly from IAD to TLV unfortunately United closed the route temporarily because of Corona so had to fly through NY this time
I was on DAL234 on March 11 2022 I would say My favorite aircraft of delta's fleet is the A330 NEO in my opinion! Info: Terminal 4! Departure 11:55 pm I was doing exactly what you did!
Yes the A330neo is a great aircraft indeed. Hope my review helped :)
I’m flying DAL234 on Thursday! Departures gonna be that same time lol.
Thanks for showing some of the new Neo, the glare from the TV screen looked bad too. Few comments from my perspective:
Did your ticket show the comfort+ seat on it? Odd they would request you to move seats if it did. I agree with the others and write to delta. That said, I always decline comfort+ and elect that exit row for the added leg room on the 737. But if you do have status with Delta, even their Silver status is eligible for comfort+ upgrades. She should have noticed your status and kept you there.
Delta quit their magazine as soon as covid hit. It's a good thing with all the germs those magazines get by month end.
New Movie selection is terrible right now but that's the movie industry fault. New movie production haulted. Typically delta is quick to have new movies added to their IFE. But still with over 2000 movie titles, I am surprised you couldn't find a movie or show to watch.
You should have at least tried the chicken, their food is usually better than it looks.
And if my international flight is arriving into a city that is still light out upon arrival, I want the cabin dark at some point to get some sleep to rest up.
Thats just my feedback from my experiences. What did you think of the memory foam seats in economy? I've heard it's quite the upgrade from Delta's regular seats in their fleet.
Thanks for the feedback
The economy seats aren't that comfortable but they are definitely an upgrade from what delta once had and aside from the few setbacks mentioned at the end of the video this flight wasn't that bad at all and I definitely feel I got what I paid for
When I went to Israel from Newark our gate was separated from the rest with glass walls and an additional security check. They don’t do that at JFK? This was three years ago, flew United. Just curious.
In Newark they don't usually do separation with glass walls I was there also with united not long before this was filmed and our gate was regular but the additional security check is a policy for all flights going to Israel from the USA and I did do it on this flight as can be seen in the review. They did it for Me before boarding the flight to Tel Aviv At JFK Newark And Washington Dulles which are all the airports I've flown to Israel from in the USA although I think all international flights to Israel have extra security checks before boarding because I also did one in Amsterdam a few years back before boarding a KLM flight to tel aviv
Good report! I fly this route once or twice a year to visit my daughter in Kfar S. But I usually take either United or El Al from Newark. I once took the Delta 747 from JFK, and it was nice.
Happy you enjoyed! I also Took United mostly on this route from Newark but delta is cheaper now and has a better mileage program one more flight and I'm at silver and this was my 2nd flight with delta ever so I might make the switch
@@rbspotter I watched it again, and it’s funny how the mind can play tricks - as I was following you through the terminal, I was reminding myself, “ok, here you have to turn right, then go through these doors, that way is the luggage, get the passport ready!” Then I reminded myself, “no, you’re home in New York….. maybe when the covid restrictions are better, you will hop over to Israel.” 😄😄
@@wotan10950 I don't think Israel allows non citizens in right now but yeah hopefully things get better soon
@@wotan10950 thanks! I tried to make it shorter but then it wouldn't be as detailed as you said
Kol hakavod! Have you tried American Airlines’ new JFK-TLV route? I’m considering it for my trip next year. I haven’t flown El Al since 2016, when they were still using 747s. How’s their Dreamliner service? And I have flown United on the EWR-TLV route since 2011, when they were using the 777. How is their Dreamliner service? After watching your review and reading others, I will definitely not be taking Delta.
Happy you enjoyed! I have not yet flown American airlines to TLV but I was considering doing so instead of delta because at the time it was cheaper but delta had a better deal because of their frequent flyer program which is also why I got upgraded at first and American airlines offered me the way back from Miami not NY because I was leaving from Washington DC and needed a layover to get to Israel since the IAD TLV Service on united only resumes October. I have not flown El Al's dramliners yet last I flew with El Al to JFK was in 2011 on the 747 and last I flew El Al In General Was In 2013 to Mumbai on a 767. As for the service of united and El Al it is pretty much identical to Deltas with united having a bit better IFE and food but the 787 seat configuration is worse on united than the Delta A330 900neo on the neo you get more legroom and better privacy than the UA 787s. Just go with the cheapest deal you get the TLV NY flights are pretty much the same regardless of the airline. Hope I helped
Oh and I forgot to mention but if you can book a flight from NY to Chicago Or Washington DC with united and then take the direct route either from Washington or Chicago to TLV I think it comes cheaper than a direct flight from New York because of the connection at Washington or Chicago. I flew the direct from Washington IAD to TLV once and it's better than flying from NY much emptier plane and quicker too. Also don't put delta out of your flight choices there's not much of a difference between Deltas service and the United or el al service if you won't like delta you won't like united or El Al either because the flight layout is pretty much the same on all TLV NYC flights regardless of the airline just fly with the one who offers the best deal the flights are all pretty much the same
@@rbspotter Flew El Al Dreamliner Miami to TLV and return. Service - 8 out of 10. Comfort - 7 out of 10. I'm 6'2", 265 pounds, so a bit larger than the average passenger. Flew Premium Economy and they gave you a bit more space but not enough to justify the added expense. They need to do more on that end. For example, when person in front puts they seatback, it's awkward trying to get out of your seat, even more so if you're not on the aisle. Food 9 out of 10. Excellent each way, and good choices. Entertainment 7 out of 10. Nothing special but nothing too dull either. With as many choices as they offr, there's something to keep everyone busy. In flight information 10 out of 10. Well done. Dreamliner 9 out of 10. Magnificent airplane, but one beef. The placement of the power and controls is not intuitive at all. USB ports are located underneath, out of sight. Plug in for headphones is awkward. Plus, tray tables load into the middle armrests so they don't move. Makes sitting 12 hours uncomfortable. First overseas flight for me so have no basis for comparison. Would I spend my hard earned cash on the El Al / Dreamliner experience again? Yes.
They should have kept you in Comfort+ , Please write into Delta! Can you get a Vodka with Breakfast for a Bloody Mary? Or a Gin and Tonic?
The Gate Agent didn't write on my boarding pass that I was upgraded even though I was told I was by delta so unfortunately I have no way to formally prove I was upgraded hence why I can't write to delta about this and why the downgrade took place and alcohol was avaliable but costed money they only had beer and I'm pretty sure whiskey no vodka or gin
That’s weird I flew delta from Amsterdam to JFK delta two months ago on economy and alcohol was free the whole flight must have had at least 6 drinks
I have to take this flight DL 234
How do i get from E 11
To B28( coming from montreal ) 40:44
As of now I don't think Delta operates this flight because of the war in Israel so I'm not sure how to answer your question
it's already been done
I took the flight. Delta still flies to Israel@@rbspotter
Very nice! A bit surprised you expected some kind of extra special meal while booking an Economy seat, but loved your videos!
Thanks! I didn't expect the meal to be too good but even for economy what I received was embarrassing
@@rbspotterLucky you were not on United. At least you got Hagen Das instead of a revolting cookie.
Why would they downgrade you midflight from a seat that wasn't even booked? I'd write an email to Delta and say something about that.
Apparently The Gate agent didn't officially say I was upgraded on my boarding pass even thought that is what I was told. I didn't show up on system so i was removed which I think is stupid because I was told I was upgraded they shouldn't say something and not formally do it like what happened this time. But unfortunately since the Gate agent didn't add the upgrade like I was told if I email delta they will use that as an excuse even though they told me the opposite initially
I don't know it is still worth a try. I emailed Delta once about a very poor flight attendant I had on one of my flights and they added an extra 3000 miles to my Skymiles. I know it's not much but I'll take it.
@@alk61695 I would love to but if I send them an email they will ask for my boarding pass and then they will reject my request because it says I was never upgraded on my boarding pass and for them that's what matters
Oh okay then.
I'D BE FURIOUS!!!!
How much is this trip?
750$ without taxes. with taxes it was in the 1000s for me but I flew during summer so it was more expensive. during winter it's significantly cheaper probably about 400$ with taxes 700$
i assume because of covid and because people are in school and are working right now
I took this flight August 2021 I doubt anyone had school so its likely because of covid it was empty. Hope you enjoyed the video!
Was it a full flight?
No I flew during the middle of the second wave of Corona so the flight was fairly empty and Corona restrictions were full-blown. When I returned from America after this flight last year I had to do a week quarantine this year when returning from America I didn't even need a Corona test or any forms of the type and the flights were mostly full
@@rbspotter Are the people that travels from JFK to Tel Aviv tourists or Israelis? I was just wondering.
@@christophergeorge8724 the vast majority are Israelis but there are also a lot of tourists. This Flight specifically was only Israelis there were no tourists because it was during one of the Covid19 Waves and Israel was under lockdown and no tourists or foreign citizens were allowed in Israel because of this so we had no tourists at all on this specific flight
ElAl is better! I'll stick with them
אז דלתא או אל על?
דלתא
The decline of Delta continues. That food was an embarrassment.
Delta is a crap airline southwest better
Does Southwest fly to Tel Aviv?
