I was looking for 'Heat' extended for a while, thank you. Although, while the song is performed by Kronos Quartet, it was written/composed by Elliot Goldenthal. The score is all composed by Goldenthal with certain songs performed by Kronos Quartet, this being one of them. Thanks again for this though - Brilliant intro to the movie!
Thanks so much for commenting, i changed the description to feature Goldenthal as the composer, sorry for the mistake. I am working on the Terje Rypdal track Mystery Man next, since its one of Rypdal’s best and captures the very essence of Neil
Excellent choice. No problem at all, happy to help and keep up the good work, these are great tracks and with the release of Heat 2 (novel) and the movie being produced now, more people will want to listen to all these great tracks. I hope the next Heat also has a fantastic score. @@fiorinasoundscapes
@@lalvarez1990 As a life long fan of Heat I highly doubt they gonna capture the magic of original with Heat 2. It never works. Heat, much like Leon the professional, are best left alone. Time will tell if im wrong.
De Niro & Pacino's characters, this score, the cinematography, and color palate - the sheer coldness of the world when you spend your life avoiding the heat.
Neil just looking out over the pacific, at his beach house, considering his next move is just the perfect ambience. He has to decide now, a new life with his partner, leaving his old life behind or doing what he's always done. It's haunting, the ambience music and that electric guitar at 0:33, foreboding (in a way) what is to come. The heat is always round the corner.
Someone should make the same video with footage of LA during the night, or even a livestream with the music repeating, but it must be in the night 100%
I love this, playing it on my daily. I had the fortune of meeting The Kronos Quartet violinist John Sherba in San Francisco after one of their shows back in 2013~. What an absolute gentleman, we were talking like we were old buddies for years. Amazing upload, thank you!
This first track that's played in the beginning of the film was amazing its the whole reason I got the soundtrack ans others as well. Ultra marine Moby and others, I say This in other comments They should of had or gotten house of pains track in there. 😊. Heat. A 90s film. I Saw it when it first came out VHS tape. That movie has been become a masterpiece, and known by generations, i saw this when i was 16. My son is now 16 and he has seen it. Michael Mann has done so many professionally made movies every one is a masterpiece in its own way. Public Enemies, Ali, Last of the Mohicans, Heat, Collateral The Kingdom, the Avaitor.
@joelyons8238 I can't wait! I personally wish they would have done a miniseries on HBO or netflix, how are they going to get that whole story into two and a half hours?
@@joelyons8238if Adam Driver is in it I won’t watch. Even if he isn’t, they won’t be able to to capture/conjure/recreate the magic that was in the original movie. If there was to be a sequel they should have done it a long time ago.
Thank you - a true masterpiece

@@loganit0 Absolutely agree, especially regarding Leon, i mean, how could anyone top that?
After reading HEAT 2 and knowing McCauley's background, this and his character hits at least 10x harder.
We saw what he risked to go after Waingro. What would he have risked to go after Wardell?

This movie is a masterpiece
It breathes outside of its duration in supernatural beyond
It's the best thing you can hear in the virtual world.

I would love for the sequel/prequel to start with the same theme.
Heat 2 is coming. They started to film it this year.

Great upload
So good❤
The electric guitar at @0:33 kills this beautiful, haunting ambience so well and enhances the mood so perfectly.
Thank you so very much for this upload my friend!
This is me contemplating by my window whether or not I should go get ice cream.
There is not a better song to open your fridge
🤣
One of many excellent LA-based films. This looked like everyday LA, not some Hollywood version.
This sounds like the Solaris soundtrack.
@BillyMcMorran yes it does, good observation, Solaris a rather underrated movie
I told you I was never going back...
Ive got to take care of something. Is there time? Theres time.
This video sounded it like it played the same 3 minute song over and over again for an hour.
and that is the best thing about this video YEAH
that's the principle of it, yes.
Yes, yes quite right old chap
