I'm glad that Klei finally resolved the issue and understood your concerns. Personally, I would also mind it a lot if I lost a year's worth of gameplay, but I'd have tried embracing restarting again to see new worlds. But I'd understand why others would be frustrated about losing their progress.
I recently started to play on my phone. I used to play this game years ago on my laptop but since I've been a parent, time is precious for me, I can't afford hours on my laptop anymore. It's great to have it on the phone, I can play it for like 30 mins and on the go.
No need for hesitation to be honest. The game is pretty well made and I do recommend getting it if you're interested. The idea was simply to point out a flaw that can be fixed pretty easily with a patch ... Of course if the devs decide to add something like cloud saving or provide us with a way to export/import the saves ourselves.

This hasn’t gotten an update in 2 years according to my App Store. Neither is it even close to being as good as PC DST/RoG/Hamlet/Shipwrecked. The placement is also horrendous as you cant even make a straight wall without spending 10 years aligning it. It seems like the developers gave up on it. A big problem is that besides the touchstones you are fricked if you die. There is no way to get another “life” if you “lose” one. It’s so sad because on the current versions of DST there’s for example infinite respawns from the spawn door (toggle with settings) and amulets, effigies, etc, etc. it’s just so sad.
Can I ask what is latest version of Don't Starve? And is this game better than Crashlands? Because I want to buy one these 2 games, DS and Crashlands. I don't want to buy both because I just want to stick in 1 game
I actually brought Minecraft mobile, there is no way to save your worlds either, however you can duplicate files such as worlds which I did, I saved my world in a folder now after deleting the game I can reinstall and place the world into worlds folder, I have no idea if this works with don’t starve since I’m planning to buy it.(also terraria worlds can be saved the same way, I’m on IOS)(if you have questions feel free to ask) Edit: I bought the game, it is not displayed in “files”.

I just opened the app after an update and now it keeps telling me that I have to enable app permissions in settings. But when I go to the settings for the app it won't let me enable any kind of permissions. I'm extremely irritated because I can't even start a new game if I wanted to.
This is mobile version, a smaller version so I dont hope for it to be as good as Don't Starve together. DST has envoled in to a very deversity world and many new chars. The mobile version is like the old version on PC which is 8 years ago. But playing DS Pocket and DS shipwrecked had me nostalgia so i really like it
When I play this game, everything in my hotbar is fuzzy and I cant read any numbers down there. Like let's say I use a pickaxe, I wont be able to see how much durability i have left
iCloud data backup is available in the game. I tried uninstalling this game and installing again, my world and progress have been recovered from icloud backup. So what’s the problem? Even if you switch your phone , your data will stil be protected if you have an iCloud account.
😟 That is really unfortunate. It happened to me once as well, after that I got a hold of the fuc*er and beat the living daylights out of it. I placed 2 endothermic firepits close to one another, hit and got it stuck between them following me. ... After a lot of swears later I rebuilt everything. \(≧▽≦`)ﾉ

The developers of Don't Starve didn't intend it to be multiplayer when it was released back in the day. It never had such on the PC. That is why Don't Starve Together was released adding that feature. We are still waiting for that to be ported over to mobile one day. Hopefully ... I do agree, though, multiplayer will bring a whole new flair to the experience if they decide to port it over.
I actually gave that a try as well. Unfortunately, it copies the game data only (all the information needed for the game to run on your device) ... not the user data (like saves and configured settings). Believe me I played around with the obb file, even tried some editing apps on it. 😫
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition SM-P600. Shipwrecked works fine, but Dont Starve Pocket Edition crashes as soon as I open it. I see the opening screen in purple, then it minimizes. I try to maximize it to play and it does the same thing and closes. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, there is no multiplayer currently in the game. 🙁 I do hope that Klei Entertainment have plans to include such feature in the future because it will be awesome.
Unfortunately, Don't Starve Pocket Edition doesn't have multiplayer. If Klei Entertainment decide to add that feature in the future, along with a cloud save, it would definitely make the game even greater then what it is right now.

No, unfortunately. Don't starve pocket edition doesn't support multiplayer for the current time being. We do hope that Klei Entertainment adds that feature eventually, because it will really make the game that more fun to play with friends.
Klei is not the one who'll make New Home. New Home is a Multiplayer don't starve game that will be created by different developers. I don't know why and how that's possible, maybe klei allowed the developers to create the game? (Copyright Issues)

Please, check the comments below. There was another IOS user with the same question. It turned out that iCloud doesn't help in terms of getting/transferring saves across devices.
@@antynomity That might be the case, however, I also don't like to be limited of how much I can play a game at a certain time. The "energy" system is another downside of that title in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I have no issues if the game in-app purchases are based on skins, for example (because that doesn't interfere with the user experience), but when they limit you to a point where you can't get the full experience of the game, that is a problem. Other than that, the game can be fun to play sometimes, but it's definitely not at its full potential.

Actually there are multiple items that immediately revive you after you die... however I would love it if the pocket edition had LAN multiplayer

if you are sideloading dontstarve using scarlet on ios you could probably backup the ipa and then upload it too the internet and install from the ipa

There is no mushroom farms in the original Don't Starve. The Mushroom Planter is exclusive only to Don't Starve Together.
