You’re so right about how almost therapeutic this kind of hand stitching can be. This reminded me of a tip from an embroidery instructor for beadwork: bind off often. Don’t cut the thread, just continue with the same thread. It’s just to secure the beads in small sections. If anything happens (which isn’t unlikely with a garment you wear and clean), you don’t want a whole thead full of beads coming off.
Seed beads and Bugle beads. I make fine and costume jewelry. As soon as I can replace my Pfaff, I’ll be back to larger projects. Hand sewing is still my first love. I still push through these hobbies to force my Parkinson’s tremor hands to behave. I’ve always been frugal. These difficult economic times will not bother me too much. I’m a retired U.S. Air Force Pilot who landed in NYC in the fashion industry. My family owns a jewelry business, so crafting jewelry has been a life long hobby. Seeing behind the stage at Fashion Week made my love of fashion, to make my own style bloom, pushed another career move. So, from jewelry, to chemical engineering, to fighter pilot, to motherhood, fashion and full retirement at age 60. I also set a goal to publish 60 books by age 60 and I ended up at 74. There are more to go. I wonder what’s next?
What a fun idea!!! I love how it turned out ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Lovely! It was really fun to do!

Lovely 🥰 This looks like it may be as addictive as beret knitting! Still haven’t braved the scarf yet x
I hope you give both a go!
