Aww really ?! would love to know more about her - the vet knew she had had puppies and a few dogs were rescued at the same time … how was she when you had her as she is very overwhelmed outside and has no recall at all … we working hard on that at the moment
@@TheNarrowboatPirateer name was Stella before which is why when you renamed her she had lost her recall and the tricks she was taught, she's never been on a boat before which is why she might be overwhelmed and probably still getting used to it and you, she was only crated when she was either naughty or sleeping, she was a very loving dog and quite hyper active and so used to being outside and used to other dogs as we had kept her son for her to play with when she was with us, I think you've been misinformed about her.

Having my van now around London is a right pain Mrs. I'm cruising with another couple he's 84 and she's 77 still doing all the locks with ease. Bloody amazing. Little Bonny is an adorable dog and I hope she is much better soon. I had a big standard poodle (who was castrated at 9 months old) who thought my son's used socks were the tastiest things going - he had to have surgery to remove said socks from his digestive system. Huge operation which came with huge bills (thank god for insurance!). Lovely video as ever and it's one of the highlights of my week.
So pleased there is someone else who is not that comfortable in jeans. Thought I was odd ! Just loving Bonny, she is adorable and adapting so well to boat life. So happy for you.

Another lovely vlog. You are not kidding about the camaraderie in the boating community. 'The Black Cat' developed a water leak in the water system (which emptied the water tank into the bilges!), but a lovely chap at Chirk Bank had exactly the same accumulator spare, and would not accept much for installing it and checking the system over.
@@TheNarrowboatPirate Fortunately 'Sapphire' had a decent hand pump that we used to empty the bilges (and we used Mum's vacuum pump to remove the dregs the large pump could not shift). When she is out of trim 'The Black Cat' has, erm, argumentative handling, which was difficult for Mum. Once the water tank was filled back up she ('The Black Cat, obviously!) was a lot more co-operative.
Hi Heidi. So sorry to see Puddin leave, but in Bonnie you have a winner. Pudding is sitting at God's feet. As to the stainless paddle, lots of stainless out there that is still magnetic. Take your magnet and see what you have, before it goes overboard. You might consider attaching a float or wrist line? Love your postings. Best vacation I ever had, two weeks on the Shroppie and LLangollen!
She doesn't like the denim pants, or as jeans there wildly known. But does prefer the pirate pants, i think we've all been shown. As rum does flow, on the pirate ship, and weather does get hotter. I'd much prefer, no clothes at all, i think they are a bother. Jay across the pond.
Ref stainless steel windlass, some types are magnetic, and some are not. Before you potentially lose it, check with your magnet. If it is not, then as advised by other subscribers, attach something to it which is. Hope Bonny is on the mend. Love your vlogs!
This isn’t magnetic unfortunately …. I’ll probably go with the jubilee clips idea somewhere on it to make it magnetic … I never want to have cord hanging on me or the windlass as I’ve seen it get caught in the lock gear and it’s dangerous 😃🏴☠️
Hope Bonny will be back to her usual self soon. Have to say though, that lock jizz looks a lot nicer than the farm jizz I’m normally covered in after a day surrounded by thousands of chickens and some pigs… 🤣🤣

@@TheNarrowboatPirate I haven't actually tried that one yet. My son thinks it's pretty good. My favourite Bundy rum at the moment is Camp-fire rum (tastes of chocolate, toasted marshmallow and biscuits. Also rumball liqueur (actually tastes like rumball) they are both seasonal rums.
You can buy those jackets with a leash hook on them (Amazon of course 😂). They’re great for winter! I’m so happy you have the van close by. Hopefully Bonnie is back to her new self by now! Thank you for sharing this experience.

Hi Heidi Darlin,so good to hear and see that Bonny has had her operation and with your loving care is well on the way to a complete recovery.I can tell it was a tense time for you but well done.Another bottle of rum and this one from Bundaburg in Queensland Australia ,a few years ago we visited the distillery and Sugar refinery,We sampled the rum which is very popular in OZ. We also got to ride one of the huge cane cutting machines. Another great vlog ,we are sure Bonny's next Vet visits will go fine.. Know what you mean about different clothes for different purposes. My Dad was in the Marines and always called the comfy stuff you wore around the house "civvies". Mine consist of loose leggings and tshirt or sweatshirt depending on time of year. Only wear jeans when going out in public. Sometimes there's the "overshirt", with pockets. Wear that over a tshirt so I can leave the bra (unnatural torture device) off and with a pocket to carry keys if I'm just out to walk dogs. I'm glad Bonnie came thru her spay okay. It's always a little scary when we have to leave the furkids at the Vet's! Hope she continues to recuperate and enjoy her new life with the finest pirate on the English waterways! 😊
Yeah jeans are a nightmare when climbing ladders and onto boat roofs - especially when wet…. I hate bras even more but I’ll be tripping over and have 2 black eyes if I didn’t wear one 😂😂😂

Hello Heidi. Oh I love your little Bonny, she is a stunner. She is a very elegant slate grey. Do you get to keep her for life, As you said you had fostered her??? With your winding handle whey don’t you put a small length of cord around the handle and then wear a belt around your waist and thread the cord onto the belt. That way you won’t leave it behind on the locks or lose it over board. The other thing is to tie a magnet to the handle then if you lose it over board it will be able to be found with a magnet. Thanks Vicki, we both have to pass through the fostering process but hopefully she will be mine ❤️ … I don’t like to put any cord or anything on me or the windlass as they can get trapped in the lock gear and cause accidents but someone has suggested putting a couple of jubilee clips on which will give the magnet something to grab onto, so I may try that 😃❤️🏴☠️

I did like this video (as I always do) and I'm happy to see that Bonny has adapted so well without any problems to boatlife. But, yes there is a "but" I'm not very happy at all that I see Bonny on the towpath without a life-jacket, I wrote a comment in a previous video to warn you about the REAL danger of these lovely dogs, because they are pulled to the bottom of the canal that acts like a magnet to them in no-time at all, much quicker than you could catch her. I suppose that that would be the very last thing that you would want to happen to your adorable boat-mate, so please be more careful from now on, and never forget that it's always better to be safe than sorry. And I did reply to your previous comment - she is on a lead and harness, I have control of her at all times - she does have a life jacket but it will only be used when she is off the lead near the locks, on a river or outside on the boat. She is actually a very good swimmer too just like my little pug was.. the canals have no flow and are between 2-4ft in depth

In the USA, when the foster adapts the dog, we call it a "foster fail". In your case it was definitely a Foster Success. When my foster dog needed to be spayed, I talked my partner into dropping her off so I could pick her up a d rescue her all over again!

Sorry but she was never at a puppy mill, I know because it was my family who owned her before, she only had one litter of five.

Another lovely vlog. You are not kidding about the camaraderie in the boating community. 'The Black Cat' developed a water leak in the water system (which emptied the water tank into the bilges!), but a lovely chap at Chirk Bank had exactly the same accumulator spare, and would not accept much for installing it and checking the system over.

@@TheNarrowboatPirate Fortunately 'Sapphire' had a decent hand pump that we used to empty the bilges (and we used Mum's vacuum pump to remove the dregs the large pump could not shift). When she is out of trim 'The Black Cat' has, erm, argumentative handling, which was difficult for Mum. Once the water tank was filled back up she ('The Black Cat, obviously!) was a lot more co-operative.

Hi Heidi. So sorry to see Puddin leave, but in Bonnie you have a winner. Pudding is sitting at God's feet. As to the stainless paddle, lots of stainless out there that is still magnetic. Take your magnet and see what you have, before it goes overboard. You might consider attaching a float or wrist line? Love your postings. But does prefer the pirate pants, i think we've all been shown.
As rum does flow, on the pirate ship, and weather does get hotter. I'd much prefer, no clothes at all, i think they are a bother.

Ref stainless steel windlass, some types are magnetic, and some are not. Before you potentially lose it, check with your magnet. If it is not, then as advised by other subscribers, attach something to it which is. Hope Bonny is on the mend. Love your vlogs!
This isn’t magnetic unfortunately …. I’ll probably go with the jubilee clips idea somewhere on it to make it magnetic … I never want to have cord hanging on me or the windlass as I’ve seen it get caught in the lock gear and it’s dangerous 😃🏴☠️

@@TheNarrowboatPirate I haven't actually tried that one yet. My son thinks it's pretty good. My favourite Bundy rum at the moment is Camp-fire rum (tastes of chocolate, toasted marshmallow and biscuits. Also rumball liqueur (actually tastes like rumball) they are both seasonal rums.

Hi Heidi Darlin,so good to hear and see that Bonny has had her operation and with your loving care is well on the way to a complete recovery.I can tell it was a tense time for you but well done.Another bottle of rum and this one from Bundaburg in Queensland Australia ,a few years ago we visited the distillery and Sugar refinery,We sampled the rum which is very popular in OZ.
We also got to ride one of the huge cane cutting machines.
Another great vlog ,we are sure Bonny's next Vet visits will go fine..

Know what you mean about different clothes for different purposes. My Dad was in the Marines and always called the comfy stuff you wore around the house "civvies". Mine consist of loose leggings and tshirt or sweatshirt depending on time of year. Only wear jeans when going out in public. Sometimes there's the "overshirt", with pockets. Wear that over a tshirt so I can leave the bra (unnatural torture device) off and with a pocket to carry keys if I'm just out to walk dogs. I'm glad Bonnie came thru her spay okay. It's always a little scary when we have to leave the furkids at the Vet's! Hope she continues to recuperate and enjoy her new life with the finest pirate on the English waterways! 😊
Yeah jeans are a nightmare when climbing ladders and onto boat roofs - especially when wet…. I hate bras even more but I’ll be tripping over and have 2 black eyes if I didn’t wear one 😂😂😂

Hello Heidi. Oh I love your little Bonny, she is a stunner. She is a very elegant slate grey. Do you get to keep her for life, As you said you had fostered her??? With your winding handle whey don’t you put a small length of cord around the handle and then wear a belt around your waist and thread the cord onto the belt. That way you won’t leave it behind on the locks or lose it over board. The other thing is to tie a magnet to the handle then if you lose it over board it will be able to be found with a magnet. I did like this video (as I always do) and I'm happy to see that Bonny has adapted so well without any problems to boatlife. But, yes there is a "but" I'm not very happy at all that I see Bonny on the towpath without a life-jacket, I wrote a comment in a previous video to warn you about the REAL danger of these lovely dogs, because they are pulled to the bottom of the canal that acts like a magnet to them in no-time at all, much quicker than you could catch her.
I suppose that that would be the very last thing that you would want to happen to your adorable boat-mate, so please be more careful from now on, and never forget that it's always better to be safe than sorry.

And I did reply to your previous comment - she is on a lead and harness, I have control of her at all times - she does have a life jacket but it will only be used when she is off the lead near the locks, on a river or outside on the boat. She is actually a very good swimmer too just like my little pug was.. the canals have no flow and are between 2-4ft in depth

In the USA, when the foster adapts the dog, we call it a "foster fail". In your case it was definitely a Foster Success. When my foster dog needed to be spayed, I talked my partner into dropping her off so I could pick her up a d rescue her all over again!
