I've never related more to someone's story. I brought my laptop with my OSCAR data to my meeting with my sleep doctor, and I asked him to look at the flow rate data, because it looked like I was waking up from respiratory disturbances every few minutes, and he looked at me and said, "why would I look at flow rate data? It's useless."

I’m really glad you’re documenting this journey. Not only is it super informative but I think a lot of what you’ve experienced and are expressing can resonate with a lot of people. Excited to see where this journey takes you!

I couldn’t agree more that the field of medicine needs to be revamped, and especially the orthodontic field! They are the first line of catching so many of the issues discussed on your channel in children, when other interventions can help due to their early growth stage. I feel heartbroken I was unaware of such underlying problems in time to help my teen daughter avoid the terrible impact of OSA. Thank you so much for sharing your journey ❤

CPAPs can't properly measure RERAs. And so many patients wonder why they are still tired despite being on CPAP.

4:40 Waking up from respiratory disturbances (RERAs, easily taken care of with BiPAP) every 2 minutes means you had an RDI of at least 30

Yeah :( pretty high. Especially when I'm already on CPAP.

Easily taken care of with BiPAP! can you please elaborate why you believe so? @cebruthius

3:30 Only CPAP? He said he had problems, why not switch to BiPAP mode? That's what cuts through RERAs like a hot knife through butter.

Idk my sleep tech isn't a fan of BPAP. He said it can cause respiratory imbalances and doesn't actually help. He's not a doctor tho. I'd like to try BPAP. But my doc doesn't believe BPAP helps performance, just comfort. I have tried EPR 3 on my APAP tho.

@@evanlavizadeh4032 That's patently false. BiPAP doesn't change the ratios of the gases in room air.

@@cebruthius although I'm not talking about the ambient air, more about over breathing, but for the record, I don't necessarily believe it either.
