    Is that plastic over metal for the handle? Or did I miss that?

      Yes. It is not a plastic handle. Plastic over metal.

    You have play in your sockets because you’re not supposed to line the hole in the socket with the ball on the 3/8 drive, sounds crazy but if you look inside the sockets themselves you’ll see the indent on the other 3 faces for the ball to sit inside. Hope this helps every 👍🏻

    I guarantee you the switching mechanism for the pawl will fail just like on the insulated version i had its made of plastic. Many other people have reported this issue also.

      I had not heard that. I love my VDE ratchet which is why I wanted this new non VDE version. I admit that my use of ratchets is generally not heavy use. I use my Milwaukee Impacts for heavier messy jobs.

    As you have said on a previous vid, the hole in the socket should not be aligned with the ball-bearing on the ratchet head. If you do that, you get excessive play. Rotate 90 degrees and it's a much tighter fit.

    Great video as per usual, I've never seen this new Zyklop ratchet before which is why we love Bzeug! On a seperate note, I can't believe sitting on my coffee table in front of me is Vessel's NEW 900ALWC bit driver handle! Its a 900 series (so its got similar handle to Megadora). Its a new bit retaining mechanism that sadly falls short of both the Centrofix & 810 series Hazets...but its not terrible, has a great BIG non-slip rubber over mould handle and a single tik-tak style pill shaped spring loaded bit retaining bb. If I had an address, I'd have bought one for the channel 😢. I've never had a new Euro or Japanese bit driver in my possession I first didnt see here.

      Thank you! Wow I had no idea anyone wanted to send me gifts. I guess I never thought of that. Maybe I'll have to figure out something. I was initially excited about that new 900ALWC when MeuReview posted a review on it and I may aquire one, but right now maybe I'm distracted with Wera new releases.

      I've been using mine a bit lately and like it, the bit retention is close to being as good as the Hazet, better than Wera Rapidapter, but Wiha still holds 1st place.

    That play is huge and is the reason why I use Gearwrench standard ratchets. At least with the rotating head, for zyklop, there was a reason to use it for some things. This one is a pass for me.

    • @tonyrulez69
      @tonyrulez69 10 месяцев назад +1

      He put the socket on so that the hole on the socket lined up with the ball bearing. It results in a much bigger play. Rotating the socket 90 degrees so the ball bearing goes into the detent on the socket, the play wont be that bad.

    KOKEN…. I love the 72tooth Z-SERIES is so TIGHT and my personal fav The 72 Zeal 3/8 in 1/4 body flex head…

      @AquaTech225 it's possible someone didn't put the socket on right. I had a coworker who's sockets kept falling off a impact and didn't know he had to line the ball detent up to secure it.....which is why I prefer a friction ring.

      Look it's a 3/8" drive ratchet, it 'should' be good for daily use up to say 150-180ft lbs and if absolutely necessary go to 200-230ft lbs. But really I'm using 1/2" gear over 150ft lbs. Now these are just my guesses, but most modern ratchets exceed DIN standards. I wouldn't worry about it, even what Wera would claim would be far less than failure point. What's more important is common sense from the user, knowing when to use the correct drive size.

      Not at all! That is kind of surprising and odd. I think it was aesthetics, but I don't know. I was glad they did put the Impact Rated sockets in this set because I have all the non-impact Wera sockets I want/need. I think helps add some value to the set too.
