I love the fact that you are doing what you are most passionate about for living which allows you to put all you have to produce the best content possible while having fun doing it. No cheap content to get rating up for RUclips or warring about sponsorship and who to please with. The fact that you tested these tires at the same time as the All Sean / All Weather tires allows people to see just how much differences there are between the premium All Season vs the premium Winter tires in all weather conditions. It was a surprise to me that the tire with the lowest tread depth (Michelin) has all the best snow performance especially they usually have a tradition of long lasting tread wear and good performance even at low depth of tread at the end of its life. Well done and thank you for the hard/fun work review.
Michelin have done something special with that tyre for sure! I'm sad I didn't test the same size of AS and winter, then we really could mix and match!
I've picked Bridgestone LM005 last year based on it's impressive wet performance. These days we don't see snow roads in Poland as roads are usually wet and muddy. The tyre is very grippy, even enough grippy for my liking when there is some snow. However... The comfort levels are are a disaster. The ride went from comfortable (Conti TS850 was my last tire) to very harsh and noisy. Something to know for potential future buyers of this tire, especially if the car you will fit it to doesn't have soft, comfortable suspension characteristic, as I'm now considering replacing it with something else because of that... Great video as always Jonathan, fun to watch even when not buying tires ;)
last year we had some snow :D I am going for alpin 5 I think so, it will be good choose for rwd car, on wet it drives superb but it needs good tyre on snow..
You're quite good at these reviews and they're the only real world testing ones I've found that are relevant. Other reviews don't have comparisons, testing, and often just drive whatever that person happened to buy and repeat what the selling language is. Thanks.
I used Dunlop Winter Sport5 last winter. It performed very well in the snow. It was also very successful in wet conditions. If you are not a speed freak, it is quite satisfactory in dry conditions in winter conditions as well. I highly recommend the Dunlop Winter Sport5. And appreciate for this great review. Thank you mate 👍🏼
I had the Winter Sport 5 on mine and I wouldn't fit them again... they seem to be considerably varying in different sizes. Which size did you have? Mine were 215/50 R17...
I have used the Dunlops for the last two winters and have been very happy with them. In the winter I am not worried about dry braking and handling, just wet, cold and snow performance. My Dunlops in snow only seriously lose traction once the car starts to rub its belly in deep snow. The rest of the time it does everything that I need. Its surprisingly quiet and comfortable on the road as well as this test shows.
I am so happy I've decided for Hankook Winter i cept evo3 as you've recommended me personally. It is 70€ cheaper per tire than Continental and 90€ than Michelin. It is a no brainer in 245/45/19. Thank you very much, impressive review as always. :)
Bought iceptEvo3 in 2020 autumn so its my second season in Lithuanian winter, i use it on my ML 320, it acts perfect in snow, it also acts good in soft muddy roads, and best thing about Hankooks it was way cheaper than premium tyres, for 255/55 R19 paid like 150eur.
This video proves exactly why I went with the Bridgestone. I live in Denmark when we have snow for maybe a couple of days, maybe a week in the winter, for the rest of the winter period it's a constantly wet and drizzling. They're really good for this type of climate.
The usual very high standard test. Thank you and keep up the good work! This is the first test I saw about the new Conti TS 870P, special thanks for this!
I live in Bavaria which can get lots of snow but it does tend to be cleared away reasonably quickly. When I bought my Clio RS Trophy 5 years ago I opted for Michelin PSS (18") summer tyres & Hankook (17") winters. This year I need new winters and have opted for the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005's to be fitted in November. I'm reasonably happy with your results and thanks for a brilliant review overall.
Being in the UK the last part of the video regarding the Continental and Michelin joint first and choosing what is best for you was the icing on the cake.
Starting the Nordic winter season this weekend with brand new Hankook winter icept evo3 (on a XC90). Will come back to this video and report how this studless tyre works one hour short of the Polar circle. Or at least I hope I will return
We have had proper winter weather for two months now (below freezing almost every day) and they have performed very well for about 3000km. The tyre is excellent on dry snow and on thick slush but struggles a bit on wet ice. On the other hand i only average 57 km/h
So glad I went with CrossClimate 2 all-season tire rather then getting dedicated winter tire. Yes, I get few inches of snow but not worthy of hassle storing and swapping tires every year.
Thank you for your great reviews! Because of this review I got the Continental TS870P for my MK5 R32 today. Really excited already to drive it in winter. Earlier this year I got the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 for summer after watching your review.
I have all season but still happy about your reviews. You preached the Hankook all season and man, quality is there !!! Nice to see it's amazing even with winter tyres
Great review as always. Can't wait for the video where you explain why you use all seasons over winter tires! I live in a slightly colder climate than that of the UK and still wondering myself what to do. Cheers!
@@tyrereviews Thanks. That's a really helpful reply to a good Van Der question. I live in the north pennines and usually drive on winters, but have been tempted by the thought of all-seasons for cost/convenience reasons. But we do get snow and ice, more regularly than other parts of UK outside of Scottish Highlands! I also drive mainly on rural roads. So..... winters again for the new Subaru.. and your brill recent tyre review, 2021, makes me think its Continental WinterContact 870P for me. All the best.
Starting my 6th year on my Blizzaks on my Escalade here in Alaska, i bought my own rim clamp changer and balancer, tires are seasonaly used only in the winter and changed out before temps are over 50f. The best studless tires i have ever owned. Still over 85% tread left.
One of the best channels on RUclips for real chads who give a damn about tyres (*edit: if talking tyres, second to none, if talking cars in general, one of the best). Keep it going! Btw, what's your quick take on a Nokian WR A4? Just bought them in 225/40 R18 for my A3
Hi! I really appreciate your channel, in my opinion the most interesting channel for tyre reviews I found on RUclips so far. Although English is not my native language, I really enjoy listening to you and I'm amazed how detailed you can feel and explain even small differences between each tyre. This is really entertaining and a pleasure to watch! Personally, I am really satsfied with Vredestein Wintrac Pro tyres. I had them on my 2016 Focus RS (235/40 R18) and I also bought them last year for my Mustang GT (255/40 R19 front and 275/40 R19 rear). They did very well in snow and have a "sportive" touch on dry and even wet roads with direct steering and high levels of grip. They are not cheap though, but not as pricey as the Premium tyres from Michelin, Continental, Pirelli or Goodyear.
I have Hankook Icept Evo 3 on my Mustang GT and am very happy with their performance (the same staggered configuration you have). I second the result of this test, really an excellent jak of all trades tire. I live in Eastern Europe, we have everything in winter, dry roads, snowy roads, icy roads, muddy roads. Hankook really works well!
This test came just in the nick of time, I am about to purchase winter tyres for my 2 cars and was unsure what to go for. (Romania / Europe). Thank you!
Just got my 19" Alpine 5 winter tires form my kia stinger GT and I'm so happy to see that they are so good in the snow and overall. I live in 🇨🇦 and we get lots of it over here in Ontario. Thanks for the video😃
In my area we might not get massive amounts of snow and the roads are kept free most of the time, but we do have a lot of steep hills. Without awd you need the best possible winter tires you can get, in order not to get stuck on those few days you actually need them.
Another fantastic review as usual brother. Tons of information, explanations and logic. The most comprehensive test. I have LM005 for this winter as I got them last year from the dealer when I bought the new car. Used them for like 2 weeks as season was over so no impressions to share. I am glad they turned out great for mild weather in you test as those are my conditions. I wonder if Bridgestone is loosing in snow and aquaplaning due to their weird logic of manufacturing tires with the least tread depth?
Thanks! These actually had 8.1mm compared to 7.6mm for the Michelin, so it's not down to tread depth! I think the LM005 is amazing in the wet, but I'm a little concerned by some of the wear reports I've seen. www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2021-Tyre-Review-Winter-Tyre-Test.htm
@@tyrereviews I see. Well maybe a suggestion for test procedure next time - performance on ICE. Here in southeast europe we have a lot of cases when roads are a bit wet or melted during the day, but as soon as sun goes away the water on asphalt freezes and you basically drive on "black ice"
I do love to geek. You can see the DOTs and production countries on the website too - www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2021-Tyre-Review-Winter-Tyre-Test.htm
Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 is a great winter tire, I use it here in Canada and I'll testify to it's goodness . Blizzaks also have a good reputation here, but you don't see too may Contis. Pleasantly surprised with Hankooks and as for the Nokians, WR is not that great (speaking from experience). However, the Hakkapelitas (studded or not) are awesome especially on ice. Great review, as always! :)
Very very good comparison with detailed information. I really like when you consider just many factors but the last word is by the customer side. You give clear information that the best tire doesn't exist. Every time we have to consider and balance final condition wich we drive. Thanks a lot for this video!
Bought the LM005's last year for my 2008 BMW 120i. The wet handling is as impressive as the test is showing, and surely for the wet netherlands a really good choice.
ive the dunlpop on a seat leon Crupra R FWD and the Nokian on a tesla model 3 performance, for the moment i'm happy with both, living in switzerland in an area with several swow episodes per year
@@tyrereviews Actualy verry impresive, the grip is better ans smoother than my previous 2014 A6, the hadling and brakin on snow is similar, its a 1.9 tons sedans so as the a6, theres more inertia than lighter cars, like the seat, but the stability control makes easy even on icy mountain roads, on dry roads it becomes verry impressive much better than the a6 and even the cupra. In track mode, well its up to you to chose where you send the toque, personaly i go 70%rear to make it funny on curves and 30% front to help grip out of curve. So i would its a verry safe car on normal driving, and pretty fun if you dare to go track mode on snow :)
An excellent review. Well thought out, well presented, informed by data and refreshingly free of BS. Have ordered some Continental Winter Contacts for my Range Rover on the basis of this review.
ooh, yes! what those guys said! It's time to start putting some tyres away, like fine wine. Set some on a shelf and take them out once a year for testing and rotate the others for use all year round and bring them back at testing season to go up against their younger selves! Tyre age and wear are huge factors in safety. Back in the day i had some tyres that were fabulous, new and turned diabolical after 3 years, still with plenty of tread. ANother set were useless when new, lost half the tread in under a year, then seemingly, by magin, turned into a fairly good tyre. (obviously compound layering). Love to see some follow up tests. (even on different cars. Interesting to see the relative performance changes.
Hello. Bought a set of Dunlop WinterSport 5 225/45 R17 in October 2022. The tyres came with DOT 1020 (with some discount for this) and I am pretty happy with them after 1000km in chill autumn environement. It’s a well balanced tyre like you said. I felt the car very well on direction for a winter tyre (dry roads, no pushing to the limit). Even if it’s not a new model anymore I thing it’s a good choice if you found the right price. ~310euros for a set of 4 in my case - Audi A3 8V Sedan 2017. Thanks for the work you done!
Every tire comparison you do, the better it gets !!! Superb Jonathan, keep it up dude !!! Hope you could test the Continental summer family tires, together. It would be really interesting to see the differences. Greetings from Barcelona :=)
You are doing a great job educating people about road safety and importance of fitting proper tyres! I love your professional and scientific approach! Very much appreciated Jonathan! I only buy tyres after watching a d reading your reviews/tests!👍👍👏👏💪💪
Nice! I just bought and fitted the LM05. I chose it over the Hankook based on many other reviews, although being close both performance and price wise. Living in a mild climate with main focus on wet performance, i probably won’t regret it.
@@tyrereviews I will happily do so :) also, I’m driving an Alpina E92 D3 Biturbo, so totally different application to your test vehicle. My Hankook summer tires seem to last about 40000-50000kms, currently they are at 27000kms. They are much noisier on bad surfaces like old concrete autobahn compared to my new Winter Bridgestones. Also, summer is 19“ while Winter is 18“.
It's not that usual to include an all season tyre in winter tests, but it's something I'll probably include in future tests as it seems like an interesting idea!
@@tyrereviews It would really stop all those people who get a bit of snow on the drive once a year from claiming that there's no way an all-season could replace both summer & winter sets. I've used Cross-Climate, and Cross-Climate Plus on most of my cars all year round, and they've even done a few (very squealy) laps of the Nordschleife in November/December when the 'fast' car has been unwell. It was most satisfying to watch a GT3 RS pull over to the side of the road on our exit from Dover on our return to the UK, as his Trofeo Rs (that he'd managed a couple of cold dry laps on) were having difficultly getting any grip in the torrential rain on the uphill section of the A20 towards the M20...although we did stop and wait with him for the rain to ease ;)
Hi could you please summarize the all season and the winter tyre test results in one? From the number is seems that the narrower all season tyres were even better in the snow than the wider winter tyres, while the wider winter tyres were much better in the dry than the narrower all season tyres,. In the wet they were very close to each other. How do you see these?
Thank you for all the work you put in. I would suggest replacing the summer tyre comparison with a great all-season tyre (like the CrossClimate 2). It would make more sense for those who actually need to buy winter tyres.
...but, BUT... "Snowdragon" is clearly the best name for a winter tire. haha. Another great test/review. I was a little surprised that the summer tire was best on dry handling, because I've always thought one of the main advantages of a winter tire was a compound that stayed softer/stickier when temps dropped below 45 degrees F. I'm going to have to go back and check out the All Weather tire data/review to see how the "goldilocks" tires compare to the dedicated winter treads. Thanks again!
Breaths fire on snow! In the dry, the stability of a summer tyre will usually always mean it's best under extreme conditions at any temperature, obviously aided by the fact track handling generates heat
I was always picking my tires between Michelin and Continental, lately I am impressed how good Hankook is getting...will consider it in the future for sure.
I am glad that I picked the Bridgestone tyres. Actually, was using them for two seasons already, and I am quite happy with them. I am not really pushing them too much, butthey handled quite good.
Bought Imperial last autumn. We had -25 this winter. Lot's of snow and ice. I should say that it's a brilliant tyres for this price. Would by another set again. But it looks like they will last at least 3 winter seasons. Before I had Goodyear UG Performance 8, nice tyres, but for mild winters. I have 300hp awd car.
Having used many sets of winter tires, Michelin and Continental are my top choice for winter tires. I drive X-ice on my full-size pick-up truck year round. Dunlop used to be very good but they seem to have slid down the order (still running an old set of Dunlop winters on my X5 just to use them up but replacing them by late October). Hankook and Blizzaks I would not put hard earned cash down for. Unfortunately one my current vehicles had a brand new set of Blizzaks mounted when I bought it and so they will be put to the test this winter. (Blizzaks seem to have a softer top layer that performs well in cold weather but wears out in one or two seasons after which they are reportedly garbage....we'll see.)
Outstanding analysis as always. Would love to see the Blizzaks retested after 1000 km when the micropore compound is gone and the tires are half-way through their expected lifespan (every Bridgestone tire I've ever had wears like it's an R compound track tire).
The past winter I have been driving 225/45/17 lm005 fitted on a golf gti. They are shit in the snow. However, the total days where I had to drive them on snow were probably 5. The rest was on wet roads and they were OK. Grip was better than my summer ones in summer, Bridgestone s001, they were the tyres from the factory.
Another winner! Awesome video to start my Monday! I've only been purchasing Michelin or Continental tires the last 5 years. (Whatever is the better deal at the time. Lol)
Ohhh yiss, the review I was waiting for! I normally run Goodyear Eagle F1s on a hot hatch so was considering the Michelin Cross Climate 2s, but am very tempted by either the Continentals or the Hankooks (especially at that price)
Since I made the switch from mid-range winter tyres to the premium Conti TS850 a few years back I've never looked back. Since I live in the Balkans where weather can go from sunny to snowy, to rain and from dry, to wet, to ice The Conties have been amazing in every condition. Looking forward for when they run out so I can get the newer 870. Always looking forward to your reviews!
Great thorough content as usual thank you. Would love to see some ice tests in this video and the all season roundup. Ice is even more common than snow here in Ireland/uk and is the conditions which you would be more likely to get stuck in due to lack of tyre grip
Another top video from you! Man, you are doing such a good quality work! Definitely you are underrated, a lot :( I have a strange passion for tires, I spend a lot of time reading about them and I think I saw all your videos and articles 😅 even drove my friends mad with them. Every time when a friend ask me what tires should he buy, I sent links from you and tell them to watch videos and and read your articles.
I bought the CrossClimate2 instead of diedicated winter tire. I just need to get to the ski resort, on the skiruns i use my snowboard. In Budapest city for 3 years now 0 cm of snow
Great Vid and Testing mate! Thank you. You really deserve an award for your work. I bought the Continental WinterContact TS870 P and really like them a lot. Super quiet and massive grip on my Audi A4 Avant Quattro, I am driving in Germany. 👌🏼 I feel super comfortable knowing to have bought the best winter tyre possible. It is just an investment in safety and saving you in the very worst case to face a expensive crash or accident. Folks, you can save on everything but never on safety. In the end I think the importance and impact of tyres are extremely underrated - and remember they are the only contact point of your car to the street. Cheers.
Great review and fascinating results! Any plans for including All Weather 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake tires in these winter tests to showcase the performance differences vs. dedicated winter tires? Since your "All Seasons" test and Winter tires test were done simultaneously, seems like a great opportunity to compare/contrast the differences. Thanks!
@@tyrereviews there are a lot of questions on All Weather vs. winter tires and you're amongst the best out there at making this understandable for Joe & Jane Average. You do a metric crap ton of work and can't imagine how many laps you do to put these tests out. Thanks so much!
Thank you once again for a great video with informative content. We have discussed/Emailed before, but, here is my dilemma for others to consider... - New X3 delivered late this year, with 21inch wheels - Wanted All Season, as most suitable for UK seasonal road conditions - Fan of Continental Tyres (Have Summer & Winter on current X5, 21 inch wheels - Run Flats) - Continental do not do a 21 inch All Season Tyre - So back to having to do a Winter-Summer tyre swap each year for new X3 if staying with Continental tyres - The only Continental Winter Tyre reportedly currently available in 21 inch, is WinterContact TS860 - Trouble in UK will be getting hold of these tyres, due to rubber-tyre shortages & distribution issues effecting UK tyre dealerships. - My local UK tyre dealership, have them on order, but no idea when & if they will be delivered ready for new X3 - That said, BMW have no idea of timeline to deliver new X3, also due to supply & distribution issues - May have no choice but to go with 'any' 21 inch winter tyre manufacture, that dealerships have available if X3 arrives! A video on your 'view' with the present tyre dealership issues of getting hold of tyres, especially in UK, would be greatly informative. Very few are talking about the issues with rubber-tyres & distribution, compared to new vehicle delivery issues that many are discussing on RUclips & on vehicle forums. Thanks again & keep-up the great informative work you do. It helps keep me & my family safe by getting the best tyres available for our family vehicles.
Supply shortages are frustrating for sure, but it will be such a low volume size for that 21" wheel, it's not overly surprising. Have you considered a smaller winter wheel?
@@tyrereviews Agreed, a 2nd set of smaller wheels, plus tyres, maybe my only option. I have not done this before, for 2 reasons, though both cost related; other than vanity of liking large wheels! - 1. Trying to save money & not bye a new set of wheels & tyres. Try only to bye-change tyres! - 2. BMW UK, if you do not buy wheels from a certified BMW dealership, you lose all new warranties, BMW shortfall insurance, etc, on 'new vehicles'. BMW Wheels are very expensive with tyres. My local BMW Dealership wanting £4000+ for this option. Maybe, I will be forced to downsize & bye additional wheels, for safe winter 2021/2022 driving! But (!!!), prefer not too, yet accept the safety reality of this choice if unable to get a 21 inch quality winter tyre. Will only know solution once vehicle delivered & conversation with tyre dealership. Your videos & website allow me 'to at least make an informed choice'. Thank-you.
@@peromalmstrom7668 Yikes, that sucks about the wheels. At £4000, you might as well buy a winter runaround for the days the weather is bad, and leave the OE tyres on for the rest of the time.
I owned T860, were excellent in Madrid climate, chilling winters with occasional snow and ice, and scorching summers , travelling all around europe a northern Spain (similla summers to the uk) 30.000 kms on 18” wheels. Not bad at all! excellent allarounf for my liking, anf coul cope with the last january huge snowfall.
Well we don't have winter in iraq 😁 i saw my first winter tyre ever in Turkey and I thought it was waste if money 😁 after driving first time in snow, I figured I was wrong. Thank you for you video it is so useful and nice information, keep that way 👍
Just got the GY ultra grip since I can't wait for the release of the next gen next year as the cheap motomasters I have suck. Perfectly timed in getting them since our first big snow was today. Man are they amazing.
Thank you for your excellent review. I have just bought a VW ID3 Tour and have ordered a set of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 based on last year’s reviews, given they have the lowest rolling resistance I feel I have made the right decision.
Yea, you finally got a hold of some Blizzaks. Great review as always. I wonder what the difference is between ultra performance winter and normal studless winter tires. Lastly any plans to start comparing off-road tires. With the rise in popularity of off-roading and how well awd drive comparisons do I imagine a tire test would be really popular.

I've picked Bridgestone LM005 last year based on it's impressive wet performance. These days we don't see snow roads in Poland as roads are usually wet and muddy. The tyre is very grippy, even enough grippy for my liking when there is some snow. However... The comfort levels are are a disaster. Another EXCELLENT review! Confirms my observation, I am very happy with Hankook Icept Evo 3 on my Mustang GT.
Would be cool to see some Nordic winter tires in here as well, like the Continental Vikingcontact 7 and Nokian Hakkapelitta 9

Let me know how they do with wear!
The usual very high standard test. Thank you and keep up the good work! This is the first test I saw about the new Conti TS 870P, special thanks for this!
I was the first to test it 😁
I live in Bavaria which can get lots of snow but it does tend to be cleared away reasonably quickly.
Let me know how you get on with them :)
Hi, how do the Hankooks perform? Curious how they hold up close to the Polar circle
We have had proper winter weather for two months now (below freezing almost every day) and they have performed very well for about 3000km. The tyre is excellent on dry snow and on thick slush but struggles a bit on wet ice. On the other hand i only average 57 km/h
Thanks! Sounds like a very good tyre. @@johanaberg6528
Mild climate adjustment is well appreciated. Thank you for this exhausting work.
So glad I went with CrossClimate 2 all-season tire rather then getting dedicated winter tire. Yes, I get few inches of snow but not worthy of hassle storing and swapping tires every year.
Nice :)
I have just ordered them too.
Would have been great to have the CrossClimate 2 included in this test as well…
Today got mine CC2 :)
@@ValtersPelns Ah, 1-2 days before me. :p
Thanks for all the effort you put in. Really remarkable.
But you're right, for England I think all seasons are a better solution
Excellent stuff. Was particularly interested in how the summer tyre compared in cold/wet conditions - thanks for including that.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for your great reviews! Because of this review I got the Continental TS870P for my MK5 R32 today. Really excited already to drive it in winter.
Earlier this year I got the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 for summer after watching your review.
Let me know how you find them!
I have all season but still happy about your reviews.
You preached the Hankook all season and man, quality is there !!!
Nice to see it's amazing even with winter tyres
Rapidly improving company!
I took am considering fitting the hankooks, they do seem to be on the up
nearly 4am Los Angeles time notification hit. i was awake. Appreciate your work mate. Lets do this.
Oh damn son get to sleep! Also do you get much snow in LA?!
@@tyrereviews Hey oh, white as snow. :D
Great review as always. Can't wait for the video where you explain why you use all seasons over winter tires! I live in a slightly colder climate than that of the UK and still wondering myself what to do. Cheers!
To me it comes down to compacted snow or ice, if you see any of that, winter tyres are best
My country does not experience winter but I love your reviews so will watch!
Starting my 6th year on my Blizzaks on my Escalade here in Alaska, i bought my own rim clamp changer and balancer, tires are seasonaly used only in the winter and changed out before temps are over 50f.
The best studless tires i have ever owned. Still over 85% tread left.
Wow, mega. Watch out for aging out after 5 or 6 years though
One of the best channels on RUclips for real chads who give a damn about tyres (*edit: if talking tyres, second to none, if talking cars in general, one of the best).
Keep it going!
Btw, what's your quick take on a Nokian WR A4? Just bought them in 225/40 R18 for my A3
Thanks! The A4, it was a good tyre. Little older now, but it doesn't seem like the Snowproof P really moved the game on!
@@tyrereviews Thank you!
Pilot Alpin 5 saved my butt this winter!
I keep saying this but Your tests are THE BEST! So much information, THANK YOU! I always enjoy these 👍🇫🇮
This test came just in the nick of time, I am about to purchase winter tyres for my 2 cars and was unsure what to go for. (Romania / Europe). Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Just got my 19" Alpine 5 winter tires form my kia stinger GT and I'm so happy to see that they are so good in the snow and overall. I live in 🇨🇦 and we get lots of it over here in Ontario. Thanks for the video😃
What an outstanding review! Congratulations and greetings from Northern Greece
In my area we might not get massive amounts of snow and the roads are kept free most of the time, but we do have a lot of steep hills. Without awd you need the best possible winter tires you can get, in order not to get stuck on those few days you actually need them.
You r a Superstar
Definitely you takes a lot of doubts way when we need to choose tyres.
Thank you.
:D
Thanks man, love your tests!!! Greetings from the Netherlands
Glad you like them!
ordered my continentals last week, nice to see that i made a good choice!
Nice! Let me know how you find them!
Been waiting for this video for so long! Right on time tho, thank you!!
Hope you enjoyed it!
These are the best reviews. Glad to see your subscribers increasing
Amazing that you provide the weight of each tire, I didn't even come to mind that there could be such differences.
Thanks for watching!
Bought the LM005's last year for my 2008 BMW 120i. The wet handling is as impressive as the test is showing, and surely for the wet netherlands a really good choice.
Glad you like them, please put a review on www.tyrereviews.com if you get some time :)
ive the dunlpop on a seat leon Crupra R FWD and the Nokian on a tesla model 3 performance, for the moment i'm happy with both, living in switzerland in an area with several swow episodes per year
How's the Tesla in the snow?
Just found your channel, just dropping a comment to say I appreciate your time with these videos!
Glad you like them!
An excellent review. Well thought out, well presented, informed by data and refreshingly free of BS. Have ordered some Continental Winter Contacts for my Range Rover on the basis of this review.
The best wintertire review - Great Job and thanks
That’s the test I’ve looked for! Thank you very much!
ooh, yes! what those guys said!
Thanks! I'm working on bits with conti :)
@@tyrereviews Can't wait to see it !!! :=)
Great content as usual!
Bravo Jonathan, my top tyre reviewer!! 👍
You are doing a great job educating people about road safety and importance of fitting proper tyres! I love your professional and scientific approach! Very much appreciated Jonathan! I only buy tyres after watching a d reading your reviews/tests!👍👍👏👏💪💪
Thank you Mr Raver!
Nice! I just bought and fitted the LM05. I chose it over the Hankook based on many other reviews, although being close both performance and price wise. Living in a mild climate with main focus on wet performance, i probably won’t regret it.
Sounds like a good choice :) Let me know how you find the wear please!
Why not benchmark against the Crossclimate as well?
I think I'm addicted to these videos :)
:D
después de ver el vídeo, y las explicaciones y argumentos, he elegido mis siguientes neumáticos de invierno ❄️! Gracias , hacéis un buen trabajo 👍!!
That seems like a good summary. I'll do a summary video in a few weeks
@@tyrereviews Thank you very much! :)
These vids are absolutely fantastic. Love them!
:D
Thank you for all the work you put in. I would suggest replacing the summer tyre comparison with a great all-season tyre (like the CrossClimate 2). It would make more sense for those who actually need to buy winter tyres.
This comment is spot on, crossclimate/crossclimate 2 should also be a bench mark
Excellent video as always. Interested in a Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 vs CrossClimate 2 video :)
Same here
This!
me too!
...but, BUT...
Best tyres review on all youtube! Like always!🙂🤝👍👍👍👍
At this time i´m not in the market for new tires as i´m happy with my Vredestein allseason tires, but i just love your videos!
I bought Michelin Alpin 6 for my Dacia ... changed from last years from Hankook ( budget tyres )
Outstanding analysis as always. Would love to see the Blizzaks retested after 1000 km when the micropore compound is gone and the tires are half-way through their expected lifespan (every Bridgestone tire I've ever had wears like it's an R compound track tire).
No comment on bridgestone wear...
Exactly, if you don't see much snow they're great. How's the wear?
I bought the Vredestein Quatrac Pro and I am very impressed about the performance on wet and dry conditions.
Vredestein Wintrac Pro is also an excellent winter tyre. Have these on my 480hp RWD M240i
They're getting a little old now, I'm excited for the next version!
You consistently have the best tire reviews on the entire internet! Thank you!
I would have loved to have seen how the Yokohama Blue Earth v905 faired in your group test.
Mam Continental ts 850 p 7mm bieżnika i tracą przyczepność na wodzie nawet podczas dodania gazu ruszania. U ciebie też tak jest?
Great thorough content as usual thank you. Would love to see some ice tests in this video and the all season roundup. Ice is even more common than snow here in Ireland/uk and is the conditions which you would be more likely to get stuck in due to lack of tyre grip
Ice was planned, but it wasn't the easiest year for testing
Your video helped me a lot, thank you very much. I really appreciate the work that you put in this video. Thank you again!
Thanks for your thorough testing, I've just brought 4 Hankooks for my Fabia after watching this video 👍
Another top video from you! Man, you are doing such a good quality work! Definitely you are underrated, a lot :(
I have a strange passion for tires, I spend a lot of time reading about them and I think I saw all your videos and articles 😅 even drove my friends mad with them. Every time when a friend ask me what tires should he buy, I sent links from you and tell them to watch videos and and read your articles.
Will you made another video where to compare Michelin Alpin 6 vs Conti TS 870?
Excellent test, right on time, helpfull to choose what to buy! thanks
I bought the CrossClimate2 instead of diedicated winter tire. I just need to get to the ski resort, on the skiruns i use my snowboard.
In Budapest city for 3 years now 0 cm of snow
Let me know how you find them!
Great Vid and Testing mate! Thank you. You really deserve an award for your work.
I bought the Continental WinterContact TS870 P and really like them a lot. Super quiet and massive grip on my Audi A4 Avant Quattro, I am driving in Germany. 👌🏼
I feel super comfortable knowing to have bought the best winter tyre possible. It is just an investment in safety and saving you in the very worst case to face a expensive crash or accident.
Folks, you can save on everything but never on safety. In the end I think the importance and impact of tyres are extremely underrated - and remember they are the only contact point of your car to the street.
Cheers.
Glad you found it useful :) Stick a review on www.tyrereviews.com sometime :)
Thanks!
Maybe I need to run both tests in the same size so I can mix and match results :)
@@tyrereviews there are a lot of questions on All Weather vs. winter tires and you're amongst the best out there at making this understandable for Joe & Jane Average. You do a metric crap ton of work and can't imagine how many laps you do to put these tests out. Thanks so much!
Interesting test and results. For winter tests, ice performance would be of particular interest, especially for tires without studs.
Ice was planned but travel issues messed it up, sorry
Thank you once again for a great video with informative content. We have discussed/Emailed before, but, here is my dilemma for others to consider...
- New X3 delivered late this year, with 21inch wheels
- Wanted All Season, as most suitable for UK seasonal road conditions
- Fan of Continental Tyres (Have Summer & Winter on current X5, 21 inch wheels - Run Flats)
- Continental do not do a 21 inch All Season Tyre
- So back to having to do a Winter-Summer tyre swap each year for new X3 if staying with Continental tyres
- The only Continental Winter Tyre reportedly currently available in 21 inch, is WinterContact TS860
- Trouble in UK will be getting hold of these tyres, due to rubber-tyre shortages & distribution issues effecting UK tyre dealerships.
- My local UK tyre dealership, have them on order, but no idea when & if they will be delivered ready for new X3
- That said, BMW have no idea of timeline to deliver new X3, also due to supply & distribution issues
- May have no choice but to go with 'any' 21 inch winter tyre manufacture, that dealerships have available if X3 arrives!

Hankook for winter and Falken for summer. Always been the best by price/performance in my opinion.
Nice, let me know how you get on with them! :)
Thank you for the test!!
very happy with my bridgestones. same climate as you.
I've been waiting for this
Yea, you finally got a hold of some Blizzaks. Great review as always. I wonder what the difference is between ultra performance winter and normal studless winter tires.
Lastly any plans to start comparing off-road tires. With the rise in popularity of off-roading and how well awd drive comparisons do I imagine a tire test would be really popular.
Yes actually, I've done a few offroad videos and plan to keep doing it :)
I want to see race between summer, all weather, winter and pike-wintertime on ice and extreme colds!
Someone finally brought up using all seasons instead of winter tires for mild winter climates! :o
