These are the most realistic birch trees I have seen. I am just learning to paint, so I have studied no less than six videos of artist's birch trees. Your techniques make it seem achievable, thereby inspiring me! Very helpful to have the list of paints and brushes. I can't wait to try this scene! Thank you!

Did you paint the base on or use a black canvas ? If painted, did you let it dry?
I was using black canvass, if you paint it black, you should wait untill it dry, and then you can start painting process, have a great time and happy painting🙏🥰❤️

Just getting to the part after the trunks are drawn... is that just a really faint bit of black you are going over them with?
yes use black, when the white color on the trunk has not dried, so there will be mixing, but you need to play the pressure on the brush to achieve the color you want, actually like shading the edges of a trunk to create a shadow area, hope you get what I mean my friend , happy painting😊🙏
Can I ask, at the start, it was just yellow or did you added little bit of green?
It was only yellow, but you can add little bit sap green, happy painting dear friend 🥰🙏✌️

Hi, do you mind sharing the background colors used (before you started the actual painting)? Black, pathalo green, tiny bit white?
Hi dear, background was coated with black gesso, but you can also using pthalo green, happy painting😊🙏

Also are you using a sponge to apply it?
I did use sponge, for background i didnt use any green, only medium yellow, but you can add some sap green to create nice gradation, happy painting and have a nice weekend 🥰🙏✌️

Hello, is there any green in your painting or is just the light? Because you don't mention any green.
Hello dear, i did not using green, only yellow mid and yellow lemon for highlight, but u can use green also at the edge, happy painting 😊

Question is the background black of a green and umber mix
The background with black gesso, after you put the yellow media with the sponge it will create a greenish effect because the yellow color fades against the black background after the yellow color in the sponge is reduced, happy painting dear🙏😊
