The 90s were the days, I graduated high school in 1990 and everything about those times from music and clothes was EVERYTHING!!
@ Caray Truth Johns wys I graduated in 93 so yes I remember those days as well...our era was everything
@@stephanieguthrie832 I was only 10 in '93 but the music that year was unreal..I remember Dre and Snoop's Nuthing But A G Thang, SWV's Weak, and H Town's Knocking Da Boots being out at the same damn time smh 🔥 🔥 🔥
@FlyAwayChi 3422 you know what to say, u was listening to the best music ever...
@@stephanieguthrie832 yes the 90s were the best decade of music ever
C/O ‘94 in the house!
I feel lucky to have grown up as a teen in the 90s. THE best Era in music, culture, style.....
Yes those were great days
actually that would be the 1970s-1980s that's if you asked the younger baby boomers/old gen x.
@@cosmeticscameo8277 yeah yall had some good music and yalls era was lit as well
The 90s were the BOMB !!! LOL.
Their style impacted our culture and inspire so many all around the world Salute to these beautiful Queens...
Loved this story on these ladies! They was Killin it with BBD.
MAN!!!!! the BBD dancers were flyyyyyy!!!! they were getting it in I loved them!!!!
Big respect to these ladies. They made a real impact on the dance scene.
Man that Poison routine was the lick! Man I used to try and get that routine down and hit at the school dances when it would come on. These girls weren't no joke
Heart filled! So grateful I grew up in this era. IMO the raw talent and energy from this era is unmatched.
Yes it was
These girls were iconic! Glad to see they're doing well.
Their Apollo performance will forever reign as iconic.
Literally smiled the entire time watching this. These women are legendary and were my idols growing up! My dream was to be dancer and I never pursued it, it's my only regret in life. Thank you for this video, these ladies deserve their flowers 👑
Yes they deserve their flowers. I use to love watching them on Video Soul dance pausing the videos on the VCR and learning the dance moves yes those were the great ole days.
@@stephanieguthrie832 Yes!!! Those were the days lol
Same here..I always wanted to be a professional dancer 😊
same here!
I also wanted to be a dancer, didn't know how to pursue it tho. LOL. I have MANY regrets in life, that's one of them.
Proud to say that I was a part of the 'Trendy Era" back in L.A. One of the best time in my life. We created the fashion and dances. 84-88 best years. I approved this message
I really enjoyed this interview. It's great to see that all of the ladies are doing so well.
The Ladies ...after the video came out!! They made that Song...they killed it with the Moves!!! ..Its Iconic!! Its great to see them all doing well.
Facts!
These women were trendsetters themselves. I became just as much of a fan of their's as I was/am BBD. To me they are BBD as well 🙏🏾🔥👍🏽
I love how they were excited to meet Ronnie’s uncle!!!!
Love these ladies!!!!! To learn about them is pleasing, because I’m equally a fan of dancing as I am to music!!!!🙌🏾🙏🏾❤️
I always wanted to be a background dancer.
I’m so happy to see all of them doing well! They all look so beautiful!!
They really do👍🏼‼️
I was in High School at the time and every girl I know wanted to be one of these girls; especially me. It was great to see them!
I was in my 30's in the 90's and I think this was the best decade for music in my lifetime even better than my beloved 70's big band groups.
Wow
Not better than the 2020s music Drake got more number ones than anybody
Omg!!! I love the idea that someone had, to create content surrounding these dancers!! If you are from LA; then this was history - all of the clubs mentioned and popular HS's!! I really got a kick out of hearing each dancer's story!!! How cool is this!;
I love it ; really captured the 90s dancers so entertaining something was needed.
There was nothing like living in LA in the 80's and 90's
Agreed 💯
90s and early 00s were da best era for hip-hop & rnb.
People dance back in the day and it was cool and fun
90’s fashion dominates all other eras of fashion, including today’s!
The ladies did make the Poison video. I am so happy they are still successful in their lives. I’m happy for them.
Yessss love this. Please show more of these. Bring me back to my teeny bopper days!
thank you such a cool video..This makes me cry tears of joy absolutely loved this time in history it was such a good time ..the kids now they have no idea
Really enjoyed this, watched every second, no fast forwarding! Great story enjoyed seeing the old vids and photos.
Dancers from LosAngeles and Oakland California had the most influence on hip hop dancing in the late 1980s and 90s. Thanks for posting. It's good that they are all doing well.
You are mistaken. New York at that time.
when i tell you these girls were my inspiration...hunty!!! i wanted to be them, from the ponytails to the outfits to the dancing...good times!!!
did you ever see BBD in concert? let me tell you I did and I swear I was dancing hard af in that crowd 🤣🤣😂😂 those ladies had me so hyped!!!!
@@sandraruiz3834 no I was pretty young 11yrs old. That's dope that you got to see them!!
@@tab2n0 oh yeah I was probably in 12th grade but yes I loved these ladies!
“Straight Ahead out the max, picking up the slack, to a funky song”
Agreed...sistar dancers took it to THE next levels.
That's when you know you got talent when you not even the featured artist but still get recognized.
I loved the BBD dancers as a teenage girl . I remember going to Merry Go Round at the mall to get the jeans with the faux black leather in the front because of them. Great Memories ! All the ladies still look beautiful.
Not Merry Go Round. You will make me cry. I miss stores like that!
@@chocolatecapricorn9418 …Yes the good days
I remember "Merry Go Round" you had to be pretty to even work there😀
The 90s was awesome!
I LOVED THE BBD DANCERS AND WANTED TO BE ONE...PERIODT!!! 😂😂😂😂
Just saw the culture tour in NYC a few weeks back! Gotta love BBD's dancers! They have aged well!
I absolutely love these segments, she was so right about saying, when you mentioned BBD, and the girls with the ponytails, if you knew? You knew. Thank God for BBD, and these ladies, it helped me with my self-esteem, and style ❣️
Man.... I'm so happy I grew up as a teen in the 90s!!! That was the best era for music!
These ladies deserve their props!
They crossed paths with the Good Girls who were also Los Angeles , CA based dancers and members of the Pharcyde were too...that explains why they were always dancing in their videos like it came natural to them...coincidently , the Good Girls were managed by Hiriam Hicks who was a good friend of Micheal Bivins and he got signed to Motown...Ronnie Devoe is in their first music video but the Women featured in this video...made BBD shows even more incredible and it seemed like they pushed them to step their game up ...it seemed like Ronnie , probably the best dancer in NE and BBD always enjoyed performing with them!
Love the information love that era it will never be duplicated
DAYUM THEY WERE SOOO DOPE!!! AND STILL ARE!!! IT FEELS GREAT TO BE BLACK 🖤🖤🖤🖤😊
OMG, these ladies did their thang. I love the fact they went for opportunities and not wait. They took feedback that helped in soooo many ways. They all still successful and look naturally beautiful. Dope
Yeeeessssss!!!!!! Such an awesome era!!!! I'm glad that these incredible women are being recognized for their contribution to our culture!!!!!!
I was hoping the Girls would be on The Culture Tour Dancing...its not the same without the OG dancers doing Poison!!!
They were Dope. Just As excited to see them as to see Ronnie Ricky and Mike. Those sister's were powerful on that stage. I still remember the performances on The Apollo and The Arsenio Hall show, performing Poison , they rocked wherever they went.
Finally i asked for this!🔥
All of you ladies are still beautiful and I absolutely loved seeing y’all dance with BBD. This was such a great era of dancing and y’all representing for the ladies. I’m so very proud of every one of you for your great success not only with BBD, but also after BBD.
Them girls were the TRUTH 💥🤦🏾♂️😍😍💯
This sure do bring back memories from the 90's. Everybody seemed to be into dancing!
This got me so excited and happy..It was my dream to be a hip hop 90s dancer 😀💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 Very impressed with all the ladies accomplishments
Awesome ladies! You all definitely made your mark in hip hop dance history! You ladies rock and you all are still very beautiful!
The dancers so real and true very talented and hyped...cuties for real
Excellent interview!!! I used to love watching them dance! Brought back so many memories of the good ole 90's.
This was the video I'd been waiting for!! Str8 Ahead was definitely amongst the untouchables in the dance game back in the day. I loved everything about them, and I'm glad to see they're all living productive lives.
Wow it would have been something if they had been in the recent concert.
So happy they are doing well. I was such a big fan of the talented ladies growing up
90’s was the ultimate dance era…
They completely changed the game!! They outshined BBD!!
I absolutely love this video!! So nice to know who they are. I low key wanted to dance like them but the way my stamina is set up. . .
90s was so much more authentic, no bbls, we dressed like regular kids, naturally talented. Now everything is weird, over exposed, sexuality and gender in everything, no sense of humor, remaking everything, little originality.
You are so right!!!
So true!
AGREED.The 90s were like the roaring 20s !!! Great music,so MANY black sitcoms,the nba was on FIRE !!! LOL.Fashions were GOOD,americans weren't fat & sloppy looking-like today !!!
I would go to a bbd concert for them
Wow
Loved Pluke, T. Nakita and Debra! They were dope dancers and are now dope ladies! Yassss!!
Good to see them still knowing the moves. They were definitely popular with the young's (like myself) at the time.
I have been a 🍬 👧🏽 since 83 and I must say these ladies were the coldest. I just saw NE on 3/7/22 and I thought about them the whole time. No shade to the newbies I just know what I grew up seeing!!!!
They werent lying about Poison being high energy from start to finish... I still remember going to elementary school dances and running to the floor when that song came on and being exhausted even as an 8 y.o. trying to do the routine 😫😂 #greattimes
My brother and I saw the Triple Treat tour twice. One time in Columbia, Sc and the 2nd time in Austin, Tx. Cross Colours, Karl Kani, late 80s early 90s music and fashion was the best of
times!!
I’m glad these ladies are getting some well deserved attn, wish it would’ve happened sooner!
I didn't know Rosie was that chick 🤣🤣🤣. Who didn't want to be a dancer. The 80's-90's was the stuff. These Queens were the stuff 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Thank you for this, I have been wanting to hear from these Ladies forever!!
I love this! I have always been in awe of you ladies. I am so glad I found this spotlight!
This is so DOPE🔥
Yesssirr! Those gurls were dance goals in the 90's.
These 4 ladies and Terrible T and Sweet LD of Oaktown 357 were my SHEROES!!!! I was obsessed with them!! I wanted to be a Baby BBD dancer 😆
Great compilation!
I think it was publicized (and later spoken) that they were all from Benson Hurst. Good to hear them speak on the record, and also detail their story as background people.
We are all from Southern ❤California
Golden era for sure!!
Love the 90’s!!!! Brought back so many memories watching these ladies working it !!! ❤❤❤
Man it's good to hear from the dancers perspective.
They definitely influenced my style in the 90s. I tried to dress just like them. Baggy jeans, overalls, tank tops, and boots. I loved to dance. I danced my A$$ off every chance I could. My friends and family called me “soul train”.
You still dancing baby-girl ???
@@powerbad696 Not as much as I should, but I still love it.
@@bevylew_ Me neither.I still love it too, but,I'm kinda lazy. LOL.
Beautiful , talented & smart black women ! Black girl magic! Thanks for the memory lane taking us back to the glorious 90’s ! When women were tastefully dressed and you saw their gift of dance and not their nakedness! Gorgeous women who still today are still youthful looking! Bravo ! 👏🏾👏🏾❤️
Love this episode. C/O 1990 Bay Area was lit. All we did was dance💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
All I can say is super excited to see this!
This makes me so happy! The flowers these ladies are getting💜💜💜 The 90's hit different!!
Great video!! The ladies look amazing
Loved this interview! They all look good and have done well for themselves. Glad they are thriving.
Beautiful women and very respectful and very, very great dancers 90s best era for dancers/ dancing .
Straight ROYALTY❤. Me and my girlfriends used to dress like the BBD girls in junior high. Ponytail, overalls and all. Errbody wanted to be a BBD girl in the 90's in my city 💯

🇧🇷Brasil///hip hop dance👏👏👏👏👏 é quente e contagiante.
This should be being a dancer in the 80s or late 80s and early 90s
