You know what hits the hardest? Jackie doesn't die a heroic death. He doesn't blow himself up to save someone, there's no badass last stand, no blaze of glory. He dies quietly, sad and scared in the backseat of a taxi with only one person and an AI to keep him company :(
It’s always funny to me when people reference the anime like in their own little head canon that it’s gonna do the opposite to the concept of the game, and fyi Adam smasher is a hero and great painter, the only issue was he made a canvas out of Rebecca the best character in the series

I always like corpo start the best for this scene because V has so much more backstory with Jackie compare to the other 2 path. The other 2 paths you meet Jackie for the first time and only known each other for like what few month that we kinda skip though. But corpo V known Jackie for probably years the bond is way stronger, even without seeing it just the intro set them up as like ride or die buddies already so the impact just always hit harder for me.
@@Justa_Clipper Personally, Corpo is the backstory that makes the most sense for V, it's the only intro that gives V a genuine reason to HATE Arasaka enough to accept the Konpeki job with as little caution as they do, and thus, actually kick off the story of 2077.
i would say the same for the most part, except with a bit of thought, V would be inclined to team up with Jackie after every single opening. Corpo V: has a long history with V so has a good reason to team up with Jackie after the intro since they were already a team anyways so why not continue? Nomad V: Teams up with Jackie after first meeting him, after their first job goes tits up, Jackie being honest about what his intentions were after the gig makes a Nomad V warm up to him since Nomads appreciates honesty and (IIRC) Nomads are among the only factions in Cyberpunk that ride or die on honesty. Street kid V: Jackie tries to car jack V while they're in the middle of trying to steal it themselves (though the game implies it wasn't gonna work anyways), so on one hand, V would realistically have a decent excuse to dislike Jackie if it weren't for A: Sometimes things don't go your way and the gadget Eugene (or whatever his name was) gave V was never gonna work. B: taking point A into account, Jackie interfering on a task doomed to fail meant nothing in the grand scheme of things so no reason to hold a grudge. C: V was a regular to the Coyote bar, who Jackies mother owns, so unless V wanted to get on Jackies mothers and the Valentino's bad side and be banned from their favorite bar, best not to antagonize one of her sons. though i still agree that Nomad V and Streetkid V would be a lot less inclined to team up with Jackie after their failed jobs than a Corpo V.
