So easy to understand when someone explains it so well. Thank you, this makes me feel I could go in tomorrow and be confident with attempting this.

    Hi Nick Smith,
Your video is very clear with clear explanations. I am a cardiology practitioner. I was just wondering if i could use your video for teaching medical students please?
    Await your reply

    hmm isnt it:
    L(eft) = left arm
    R(ight) = right arm
    F(oot) = left foot
    N(eutral) = right foot
    ?
(although in practice, there is no big difference if you reverse leg electrodes...)
Your correction states: F = left foot R = right foot...

Teresa Silva Yes it is Teresa... A correction should have come up one the screen but obviously it didn't - not sure why!
      Apologies to all

Nick Smith it does shows a correction... but it is wrong... The correction states F = left foot R = right foot !

May I use your video for training Medical Assistants and Nurses? Also is there any chance I could mention in a presentation incorporating your video that some EKG's use the abbreviations RA (right arm), RL (right leg), LA (left arm), LL (left leg) since that is what is written on our machines. It would mean I would edit your video when I show it to staff

Please feel free to use and edit (and thanks for asking)

At 3:15 it says that the ECG lead 'F' goes on the right leg, is this correct?

    • @NickSmithUGME
      @NickSmithUGME  10 лет назад +7

I don't know my left from my right clearly - you are correct F goes on the left leg... N on the right!

I didn't catch that error because we don't use that letter F and N, we use LL and RL. lol. Anyway, I like how you showed us how to place the 12 lead EKG. Great video!
