To be honest Ace 3 had my favourite flight mechanics. The acceleration bonus the sharper you dove down, the momentum, and the fact that stall didn't just push your nose down, but rather left you with practically no pitch, yaw or roll control of your craft until you regained flight speed. I Particularly love the stall in this game because I can actually recover quite easily from it if my craft is level (i.e. not rolling), and I can even use it to fire a burst of the gun or a couple of missiles before the craft completely loses control. I love Ace 7, but the fact that stall works like it did in ace 2 makes me pretty sad, also I'm not sure if altitude is even a factor for stalling in ace 7 (like it was in Ace 2)
Using/exploiting this Stall mechanics was mandatory in the Fates Intertwined mission on UPEO path (JP edition) to shot down 4 Moburas in 1:30 (A rank requirement)
100% is was weird to realize playing in pretty much reverse order, 3 had the most "realistic" of the flight models. like I actually died a lot pulling up right before hitting the ground, the plane keeps it's momentum instead of travelling in a straight line. the only thing that came close was flying the Nosferatu in ace combat 6, just that plane
It doesn't make sense to lose control of your control surfaces in a stall. Your control surfaces are what you use to get out of a stall in a flight sim at least. That said, even if I can get used to the plane physics in AC 3, I think I find AC 4's the most fun. AC3's planes don't make senes to be the most futuristic yet feel the most unwieldy and heavy.
It's a staple of Ace Combat by this point. And fun fact that tunnel in Ace Combat 7 and the underground part of the Space Bridge is actually a Geofront underground facility. Coincidence? I think not!😊
@@abil_grd I am opposite to you. I loved the semi-realistic flying physics of AC3 than all subsequent titles which are basically flying UFOs. It was however admittedly quite clunky on PS1 because of hardware limitations not allowing true 360 analog input. The Japanese version AC3 was the game that got me into flying all sorts of flying sims.
I don't know if this is new but if you heard closely or with headphones you will hear the sound effect when the plane passes the pillars or goes through a small tunnel. it's a small detail but really improves the overall atmosphere of the game.
Yep...this HAS to be the fastest run recorded. Really anyone who does this will be lucky if a majority, if not all, of the gates close on the same side.
The tunnel on the left on the second part always gave me anxiety. I always switched to cockpit camera and fly slowly because I was always afraid of crashing. Also, I remember crashing my aircraft at the very end of the mission because I went into the tunnel too fast, I reached the end of the tunnel before the mission faded out.
And thats why we love weird things and strange & amazing soundtracks in games of ps2 it feels like you are in weirdcore or dreamcore also low graphics games make best vibes when playing 💙👾🕹
you got that right - newer games, even newer Ace Combat games lack a certain june sais quai, a feel, a vibe that these oldies just nail right on the head!

BUT so stresfull i just ended trowing the controller at the bed (yeah, i was careful even when i be mad) and the next day after school i try again. Then finally i was able to complete it. This and that mission (the canal one) was some of the most hard ass missions... My eyes just went blank when i see you just full thortle all the fucking mission. I salute you, really bro...You are simple the best. I'm sure the ps2 games where far easy. I meam, i die just one time when trying to complete Megalith and in Ace Combat 5 the canal mission wich is similar to the AC3 mission is far.. FAR easy that the AC3 one....
Thanks Lucas. I haven't played the more recent games, because I haven't owned another console since PSX, although I've watched gameplays on youtube and I am kinda disappointed. After so many years I am still in love this this game, I wish we had the chance to play a translated Japanese version. The gameplay, the soundtrack, the total feeling is just amazing. Tunnel vision was how I spent the night of the 2000 Greek elections, I was 9 years old, my parents would watch the results on the main TV and I would try to finish this level on a small 14" old TV. I was fuming in rage, while I was repetitively crashing (same controlled anger as you). I got even more angry while I was trying to down the Night Raven in Geofront...

Good morning Congratulations on the video Congratulations on the channel Could you explain something that happens to me?? In this mission “TUNNEL VISION” every time I enter this 3rd green tunnel at 2:17 of this video the fighter (jet or ship) that I am using is the “ “ XFA 36 A GAME “ “ in this part of the mission when I enter this 3rd green tunnel I am completely without control of the fighter (jet or ship). The shaking effect that we see at 1:04 is actually part of the game, and it activates when hyperspeed or the aircraft's top speed is being approached, i'm not sure whether it's possible for the planes to be damaged from exceeding their top speed, but with how violent the shaking is, i don't think trying to find out is a great idea.
My brothers and I used to play this game. I remember being the one who beat this level. I was a hero in that day... 😂 I had named myself Eagle one after beating that game (which was hard!), this just added to my whole lore.
Too bad they shut down ace combat infinity by the time I got a Ps3, which had this plane (and other AC3 fictional planes) along with AC3 Hud, there's a great mod for this plane for Vector thrust though.
GJ left way is little AC3 secret for most players, you should also put here replay...... avery time it cool look and then we will se that you dont have some cheat for not go through wall ... becouse was it look like look like
On the Japanese version, several planes, including the Night Raven, can only be gotten from a save file that can be copied from a soundtrack CD...which, you guessed it, was Japan-only. So you were fucked if you wanted to use the Night Raven and couldn't get your hands on the OST. The shitty export version changes this so it's possible to unlock the Night Raven in-game by finishing all missions on Normal with an A-rank.
Where did you get this rom? The one I have doesn't show the name of the jet. It only shows an gray outline of the jet. It is semi-translated as well. Your's seem perfect

It's almost like you just flew through a Borg ship in this stage...
Thank you for reminding me of Star Trek: Invasion and that mission going inside a Borg cube to steal a transwarp coil, pure PSTD right here
