But still at times we risk it for the thrill...Unfortunately the incident happened but glad you came out of it safe and sound and decided to revisit the same place and explain the situation which happened then...I am sure revisiting and explaining the accident again would haunt and bring goosebumps again.. But regarding stray cattle which has no owner, locals don't bother unless some miscreants want to take advantage of your vulnerability.
You are lucky nothing happened in Lakhimpur otherwise mobs are extremely violent in entire Assam. They take advantages of the situation all the time even if you are right

These livestocks crossing highway is one of the major problem in India.
I was in a similar situation a month back in Rajasthan on NH-48.
Exactly similar to your case, after hitting, it went somewhere in the open fields damaging my bumper, bonnet, fender and side mirror.
Fortunately, there wasn’t a major damage and everyone was safe inside.
Sir, we can start a movement through your channel to install iron fence on both side of highway. This way, the accidents fighures can be brought down.
Fencing now on the available 2 lanes would be a task as space constraints as of now. and are not elevated too.. the openings to villages can't be blocked!
