Beautiful beautiful bike!!! I’ve been search for 12 yrs I’ve finally found mine 1 month ago same bike!!! Good old gt S got to appreciate the old workmanship!!!! 😃 8:49
Very nice bike. I have a 97 GT LTS-1 that is all stock except for I put a more comfortable saddle on many years ago and the Michelin Wild Gripper tires finally gave out a week ago. The sidewalls started to rip. I put Continental Cross Kings on to replace them. I still have the original saddle too I ride mine a few times a week when I’m not riding my road bike. Everything still runs smooth and no creaking noises at all. I’m hoping to give it to one of my kids someday and thinking kids may say “what is that thing “ because there is really nothing like it around anymore. The ride was always so plush.
Your genuine and obvious excitement about this bike reminds me of myself a few times in this hobby and it's honestly what it's all about. This video made my day, thanks for sharing it
I've got the same bike '98 but mine came with Rock Shox XL with RS/AMP front disk brakes, one amazing Kore B52 stem, XTR rear derailleur and all XT for the rest of the group. Mavic Rims and rear XTR-VBrake. I still ride it and it goes absolutely trouble free. Oh and the rear shock s RS Super deLuxe..Pedals Shimano 636
still ride my '98 GT Rebound . still have original avid brakes w/ceramic compatible pads on mavic crossmax sl ceramic coated brake area . still love and ride this bike all over. great video too !
Cool to see someone actualy riding one of these retros. You can see them on GMBN but never being ridden. Very cool mate. Dont give it a too hard time though, a good clean and back to the shed. Regards from spain.
Very cool! I still take my '98 STS (thermoplastic model) and hit the trails a few times a season. I have all the original factory parts (mine came with the Rock Shox Judy XL double crown fork) but have carefully packed them away and have put newer upgraded components on it. She still puts a smile on my face on every ride! Great video!
@@nigehill The Holy Grail my friend would be the STS Lobo...back in '98 I lusted after that bike, but at close to $5000.00 US I just couldn't afford it. Even today they go for like 3-5k ! I keep hoping to find one at a yard sale for like $100.00, lol...that'll probably never happen though, I love old GT's, I have 4...I'd like to add a '99 Zaskar LE and a Xizang to my collection someday as well. My current collection has a '96 Karakoram, a '97 Avalanche LE, a '95 RTS and of course my '98 STS, which I bought new in '98 when I was competing. I do have a stable of modern MTB's, but once in awhile it's good to get the old GT's out on the trail. Happy trails my friend! Oh, and I hit the "subscribe" button.
@@TheLaughingOtter that’s an awesome collection. I also have 3 GT Hardtails, an Avalanche, a Backwwoods and a Tempest rigid next to my modern Force. There’s a retro event coming up in a couple of weeks I’m heading to which will be fun and I plan on filming it. Hopefully there will be some retro classics there to show.
Nice bike Termoplastic. A friend havit time ago, he said that he's bike was malefic for a Witch, because very Falls...😂😂😂 Congratulations for your bike👌
I’ve got a LTS 3000 only finally just finished the project couple of weeks ago. Always wanted one as a kid. Took it up the local trails. It does feel like the world has moved on but the LTS didn’t. But gets lots of attention and rides great
nice run..better upgrade to disc brake though..you can raise the handle bars to suit your ride and a shorter stem i guess. great riding mate.😁love watching you hassle those berm.
Thanks for watching! I’ll probably leave it all period correct for that full nostalgia feeling but it’s a lot of fun once you adjust to the feeling of that geo. We’re pretty lucky how good bikes are these days.
Damn I was considering getting this like mid august but I didn’t got a gold bianchi but I still want like th best possible 26 incher since it’s all a lot cheaper now.
cool video I got my self a GT LTS-1 I am working on it getting parts here and there once I get it done I will ride it not as my main bike but I will get back on the trails in my collection I have a giant atx ds 96 I think it is and last year I did restore a GT Zaskar LE 97 I got to ride it with my son it was very hard for me and sketchy lol but I didn't felt lol well nice video.
Just picked up a 1997 from a barn, sitting since new basically and one owner. Got it for just under $200. Any suggestions on where and how to get either aftermarket parts or original parts for it? Having troubles here. I imagine other brands parts and aftermarket can be added.
Awesome find! I’ve found all the bits I needed on either eBay or on Facebook groups. There are several GT specific groups and a few vintage MTB groups that have people with parts and knowledge. Even here in South Aus there’s a retro MTB group and an Aus retro MTB group. Become members of all those and you should fine what you need. Also find a donor bike which may be also helpful if it has the right period correct parts. Hope this helps. I’m also stripping the bike at the moment for a full polish and rebuild and will post a video when I’m done. Thanks for watching

I still have my 96 LTS and it still rides great! It has thousands of miles on it and still looks and rides well!
One of the best bikes ever made for sure
Your genuine and obvious excitement about this bike reminds me of myself a few times in this hobby and it's honestly what it's all about. This video made my day, thanks for sharing it

I'm a owner of a LTS '97, with a Sort and elevated stem it is BEST to downs.
Congratulations for the bike.

GT….instantly subscribe. What a cool bike! I love riding my 97 avalanche. Always on the look out for another GT project!
The best bikes ever. Something about those early triple trianges.
Great video mate. Had many hours of fun on my LTS 2000. Just done a little video of it myself funny enough. Cheers
Awesome cheers for watching. I’ll be sure to check yours out tonight after work! 🤘🏻
A bit like meeting your heroes.

Epic man!!! I’ve acquired over the year 2 96’ LTS 1’s, love em and ride em as much as I can… and yea, the v brakes are sketchy af lol
They’re epic bikes! Mine will be ridden in a regular basis. Way too much fun to just look at it! Thanks for watching

Awesome glad you enjoyed the clip. The LTS is suprisingly fun to ride. So ahead of their time and was a great project. Love the retros
Dude, I can still remember the stench of burning v-brakes(awful). I had a 1999 GT I-drive with magura hydraulic rim brakes.
The smell of those pads and the creaking of the pivots… it’s definitely alive !
Good filed!!
cool!
I found all 3 of my GTs on marketplace pretty cheap as well.
How good is Market place 👌
@nigehill yeah I love it these always something to be had on there

What size is the rear shock/damper?
Great bike, where did you get new stickers from? Need a set
I found on eBay. Someone in Hungary makes them. They are excellent quality.
17:17 "Probably the slowest run ever".
Reckon I could go slower.
get the d super delux shock for it,,,,much more plush
M1 was more expensive than a GT. $2,750 frame
