i stopped fucking with underscores when they made that bozo idiot song, couldn’t handle the blatant disrespect but i’m glad you made this video on this artist but i hope other people don’t listen to they song
fell in love with her music since sneakerhead came out and haven't been able to stop loving her music since. everything from milkfish to six impala to all her albums is just fire. everything she touches is gold, I don't know how she does it
this video was genuinely amazing and made me remember why i loved underscores at a time where i've kinda started listening less, but i'm def gonna start listening more again. i've always loved underscores and they made me learn what truly makes music an art beyond compositions. i loved all of your interpretations of all these songs and frankly i never thought of them that way, but that's what i love underscores for. what i believe underscores to be truly great for is the fact that all of her songs have meanings, but those meanings are dependent on the person, whether or not it is what the song actually meant or not. songs like the fish song can mean more than just the literal story of the golden fish to people. and while wallsocket has its own meanings, your interpretations were so much different than mine just because we've experienced life differently, and that's beautiful. also, i think this wasn't covered as much in the video, but i love her use of theming and symbolism. one of my favorite examples of this is the entirety of the boneyard ep. you're able to easily connect the seven deadly sins to each one of the songs, like loansharks being very clearly greed, saltfields being sloth, and while others may seem like a stretch, it lines up imo. april also uses the theming of good luck a LOT, especially in wallsocket as it's literally the tag of the record. bringing up the fish song again, it's talking about a fish that "had good luck" that went to waste as it was treated poorly, to good luck final girl, being about the three wallsocket girls going their separate ways uncertain of adulthood only hopeful that their luck is better than what it was in wallsocket. the good luck theme has always been my personal interpretation of april's work, which is why it resonates so much with me personally, as i strongly believe in luck to be a factor in many things out of my control. april's work has always been super artistic and i'm so glad a video like this was made. i've delved into the lyrics so much and i still missed things you said in this video. underscores is underrated as hell and i don't ever see people talking about her music and what it means to them. i think everyone's interpretation is right, there is no wrong interpretation, and that's why underscores is a master of what she does.
oh i totally forgot there's the story of s*nny set and it adds a lot to s*nny's character although it was released before the wallsocket era. though idk if this disproves anything considering tounge in cheek also has a tie in.
Yeah I had made the connection to that set just like with the way the video was formatted it would’ve been sort of messy to try to incorporate it Amazing set tho!!
1:01:34 the line 'There's always gonna be a fire to fight', I think could also be playing on 'military firefight'. Like she's saying that even if he fights in war, the wars will never end. It won't make peace, and he'll still be putting himself in harms way for ultimately no reason.
I commend you for making a video good enough to actually make me care about the lyrics of albums I didn't really ever care about the lyrics of. peak video
This video was awesome, especially the second part. It reminded me a bit of my own review of Wallsocket where I tried to recap the events of the album throughout while reviewing the music overall. This video does such a great job of detailing the story and making it understandable for others who might’ve missed out on some details. Even I missed out on a few of the things talked about here lol
I originally found underscores through six impala (havent watched the full video yet so you probably talk about it but just in case its an experimental band she's part of as milkfish along with katt helvetican and script,) and have absolutely fell in love with her music since then. My favorite songs are probably Spoiled little brat, Heck, and Geez louise for each album. This is a very cool analysis of her music, thank you for making it!
Hi, thanks so much for making this! I've been trying to piece together the Wallsocket narrative and I really apprecaite you laying it all out like this, going track by track and pointing out all the little clues and insights. The album absolutely rules; I've gotta check out her earlier work as well! Thanks again!
ty for making such a well thought out video on an artist that’s been so impactful to me. Geeze Louise has been my fav song on wallsocket from the jump and learning about the alt version made me tear up tbh. Ur a goat!
air freshener EP is an amazing EP and my introduction to her music. my friends remixed a dubstep song she did in like 2015. definitely check her older stuff, especially skin purifying treatment
this is such a nice video! i learnt a lot of new things about my favorite albums, but hearing your emotional and personal connection to the album be expressed so earnestly was really beautiful :) gonna go cry now for a bit
really cool and indepth video. wallsocket is the first album ive heard by her and one of the best albums ive heard in general tbh. love all of the symbolism and intricacies behind it all. super cool video 👍👍
Important info about Duh: according to the Wallsocket speed runs, this song is actually about a Real illness she was diagnosed with, which she urged others to not worry about or be parasocial and look into it. She just decided to try and fit it into the story but didn’t tie up the loose ends well
also, idk if you know this, but boneyard is actually based/inspired from the 7 deadly sins!: everybody's dead is Wrath, girls and boys is Lust, heck is Pride (i oughta swallow my Pride!!) gunk is Gluttony loansharks is Greed (the "loansharks") tongue in cheek is Envy (the person being analyzed and copied etc) and saltfields is Sloth (there's nothing we can do!) just thought that was cool to share with some1 else!! another thing: Old money bitch's real name is "Samantha"!! April comfirmed this in a Discord interview earlier this month

That song is so fire tho
I can't stand that song but I think she more than proved her worth with Wallsocket; it's a masterpiece.
Wait whats wrong with bozo?
@@yellowing6263 idk I just found it obnoxious. probably has to do with the brainrot meme.
@@afterajewelwoah what are u doing here
