I always LOVED this song. Even on such an outstanding album, it's a real standout. The wall of vocal harmonies and impassioned singing from John and the others just blows my mind. This album was special for being their first fully self-penned record. And each of the songs has something great about it, but then there are really great ones like this, "I'll Be Back," "You Can't Do That," and "Things We Said Today."
Nobody could convey emotion with their voice like John. Paul and George blended perfect harmonies to fill out John’s raspy, raw emotion. You can visualize his face as he strains through this song or Twist and Shout. Most underrated rock vocalist hidden behind Paul’s perfect pitch. George’s passion emerged later on in his songwriting and singing as his spirituality evolved.
I began collecting Beatle albums when I was 12, 7 years after they disbanded, i would buy anything Beatles , bootlegs, imports, anything i could find. today I am 54 and have all the Beatles Capital albums and an sssortment of bootlegs and imports, I've been a huge fan of 60's rock having also collected The Rolling Stones ,The Kinks, TheMonkees,(come on, not bad considering they were a fake band for a tv show ) Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart being the true talent behind the Monkees, i have always loved the genious of Jimi Hendrix as well, i swear when listening to Hendrix, it's like his guitar is an amusement park ride, his guitar was the voice of his soul, and i hear and understand what he was saying, but I would have to say that the Fabs will forever be my favorite band , every one of their albums was a greatest hits there are only a few of their songs i move the needle past and I'm proud to say I know all the words to every one of their songs. There will never he another group to ever reach the heights of which the Beatles soared, they've inspired more hopeful musians than anyone else in musical history. Thankyou Beatles both living and passed for adding so much more joy to my life with your always exciting music. Myke Kelley
james fisher -- no, the Beach Boys had more complicated, beautiful harmonies with more voices.. I absolutely love the Beatles and have all their albums many times over, but the Beach Boys - they wrote the book on harmonies.. :)
Their ideas were so inventive for a pop quartet at that time. The Four Freshmen did fantastic harmony as did other 1950’s groups, but the Beatles weren’t jazzy like those earlier guys. They were fresh pop ear candy that lasts and lasts.
I love John, but it is not necessary to disrespect Paul. Paul wrote and sang the best rockers the group ever recorded. Starting with I saw her standing there and ending with Back in the USSR and Get Back. Name me 3 better rock songs. I remember 1969 when I was 12 years old, it seemed like every 5 minutes they were playing Get Back on top 40 radio. Of course John was great on lead guitar. Sir Paul was as good as anybody you can name.
these boys really did music upon themselves!!! i could sing and dance to the instruments i don't even hear but only by their harmonies, the way they sing it!!! that's very special of them aren't they??? :) :) :)
Can you believe he wasn't all that crazy about this song? This and And Your Bird Can Sing. (I just put in And Your and my predictive test guessed the rest of the title) Those are two incredibly amazing songs! I drive past the Dakota on my way to work at least once a week. Next week I'm going to yell out the window about those two songs and I Dig a Pony are some of his best stuff so get off it!
A real early Beatles classic harmony track although George's low harmony is difficult to pick up in my opinion. John and Paul's voices seem to be higher in the mix. This seemed to be the case with most of the early Beatle harmony songs Hopefully there will be remixes of the early Beatles albums by Giles Martin in future.
I can glimpse some very likely(maybe subconscious)influences about the harmonic structure and rhythm of the song(not the vocal arrangement)in FORTUNATE FELLOW by Frankie Lymon and the teenagers. The Beatles had good ears and a solid cultural background.
Always thought this song was so underrated. Just showed how ahead of anything else they were at the time. There was just nothing like the middle eight on this
underrated, Under-appreciated. Totally agree. Sometimes, a lot of times, I think it's my favorite Beatles song period. Right now is one of those times. The sort of looping harmonies in the chorus = mesmerizing. Tell Me Why is seriously special, even among other A-list Beatles songs.
Ke aprendan los grupos actuales a componer música de calidad y buen gusto .pues la música no es antigua .o es buena o es mala .y la de los beatles es la mejor ke aprendan los músicos actuales de los maestros..bravo Beatles 👍💚😘
Amazing how John and Paul have totally different voices but when they sing in unison it sounds like one person double tracking. Paul has the better voice technically but John has had that grit and coolness in his voice that many especially in the grunge era tried to sound like but couldn't quite replicate.
OH, this was delicious. naked like this, its easier to hear the disparity between the two Lennon vocals. sadly, this was discontinued once Ken Townsend invented ADT.
Yes a lot of Lennon's vocals work double-tracked. It was said that George Martin headed a 27 millisecond delay on the double track. It gave Lennon's voice a thicker sound.

Tambien me dio risa en un video que apareces con un gatito😂me dio risa esa parte pero es un video antigüo
I always try to listen for George’s vocal in these videos. His seems to be the hardest to pick out in many cases.
That's how good the blend was of their vocals.
George's vocals are buried in the mix!!! I can only make the beginning and the end vocal.
He’s the invisible singer, John is the invisible guitarist
It's literally just two notes
Not the hardest to sing, necessarily, but he was great at blending in with John and Paul.

Best vocal harmony group ever. Sorry Beach Boy fans!
It’s close! Best of the Beach Boys beats the best of anyone (i.e. “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”), but that having been said-you don’t beat the Beatles!
Mmm i dont think so, Beach Boys have better harmonies. Just listen to Pet Sounds and Brian Wilson's masteriece Smile.
I'm a Beatles fan, they are my favorite group, but I still think the beach boys have better harmonies.
CSNY?

Consider that this fabulous song is LESS than 2 minutes long! Nobody does it like the Beatles @1:27 omg: "is there anything I can do" ..
Listening, I hear harmony notes similar to "Because" from 1969. Sounds exactly the same. Eerie.
One of the finest Lennon's vocal moments. The time of "A hard day's night" recordings
These are the absolute gold! Thank you for taking the time to provide a bit of happiness!
You can clearly hear the influence of the Everly Brothers in the harmonies on this track.😎
Johns voice always does it for me. Take a hike Paul

Spent the whole vocal with my mind waiting for 1:27 :) Thanks BVH and be well people!!

John’s voice is always top!

Goodness, this only took 4 decades. No one I knew or ever met could ever tell you what the hell they were singing at 1:27. THANK YOU! :)
Brilliant Beatles at their vocal Hard Days Night finest! Excellent isolation! Please do the song Hard Days Night :)

Fantastic! When I get home next please?
Fantastico! Marvelouso!
I haven't heard a live version of this song, but it takes a lot of practice to play these intervals.
GooD)))))))
They were so Phenomenal together.
Such brilliant harmonies! Thanks for uploading, can't understand tha lack of views!
I enjoy the japanese influence in the bridge. Genius
The Beatles make me feel happy 😍😍🤗🌟🙌🎉
Me too but it also makes me sad because it was so long ago. 56 years that's over a half of a century. I remember it well.
Increíblesssss voces como ellos acapela en estos tiempos son pocos UNICOS
Замечательная композиция! Сэр Пол ещё раз с Днём Рождения! Приезжайте в Москву!!!
Lennon/McCartney the best duo ever!
Perfect harmony!!

I,Ve always loved this so g
A Hard Day's Night must be the only Beatles album where George doesn't sing a middle harmony on any of the songs!

Rare song that McCartney sings middle harmony in the hook, he usually stays high throughout
